schoolhouse and alfsmum thank you :) I have decided to call this week facing demons week, I have some difficult paperwork to do that i have been avoiding, the dentist stuff and also exercise stuff, not to mention booking appointments with relevant workmen. So I am going to tackle a few a day each day this week and get them cleared, have done two sets of paperwork and will do dentist later. Tomorrow is dealing with an unpleasant hangover from the school issue - my group is being affected by it and we need to settle how we move from here and Wednesday will be exercise and phoning for appointments day and then Thursday and Friday will hopefully be sorting out workmen etc :)

    kidcat you'll be fine!!!!!!

Just think afterwards you can out the dentist, sit down with a cuppa and put a film on heaven. No kids they all at school xxx

thanks everyone for your support :)

We had our chat and luckily my lip has gone down finally, its a only a little bit swelled. Still can't drink my cuppa properly :( Myself and OH have decided that its a multiple array and being stuck in the house hasn't helped one bit.

So were going to try and get them out after school today. Its going to be a nightmare, if its raining ds2 freaks out, it says it hurts his head.
I'm picking ds2 up from school at 3pm so i'll how today goes.
Today he skipped out the door, hugged me said "said love you mammy!!!" "i'll see you at 3 o clock love you!!!!"
Completely different child, hopefully it was just the first week of school and he'll calm down.
Change of routine throws him poor kid :(

I don't mind the dentist a bit, seem to have spent half my life in there because I have poor teeth. I had raging toothache the week I was in hosp having my eldest son, I can still remember how it ruined my week's rest as a proud mum - and that son is now 43! Given the choice between toothache and a dentist YOU MUST GO lol
This morning I was in for part 2 of the root canal, got to go back on Thurs and also he found the tooth next to it had a hole, so this explains the earache on that side. I have terrible teeth and that's even without sweeties :D

To the cooks in here... a question:
Somebody on the daily thread mentioned "home made faggots". can I ask what faggots are and how you make them?

faggots are a bit like haggis but made out of pork i think, never had them before :o

I can't stand the dentists, my teeth are terrible.

I'm having withdrawel symtoms, seriously need more tea, only had one and my heads normally. Normally would have had three by now :o

I think faggots are from the southern part of the world Mar. I hadnt heard of them either till toughies told me about them a while ago. Theyre OS in that theyre cooked with pork offal and some breadcrumbs if I remember.

Called my electric company about the credit meter replacing the pre-pay. Booked for the end of next month. I had a desperate wobble when she said Id be credit checked "Ive been a customer of yours for 10 years!" desperation, desperation. No need for a credit check then as Ive proven history with them. Phew.

Sore throat a coming! Hot orange and honey on the cards for me. So wish i had some of that HM elderberry linctus left. That stuff would have helped it Im sure. Free flu jabs for domiciliary carers? Is there such a thing?

House work to do and a plan of what to do with the children people next weekend when Im off. :D

NVQ3 is going ahead. I was going to put it off but the manager said its mainly worked based observations. I had imagined collage attendance etc. Oh, and last night I was poached! :rotfl: the manager of the assisted living place asked me if I would like to come work for them. I declined because I like who I work for but it was a nice feeling :)

oo fuddle see told you, you were a fab carer! ;)

even better coming off the meter.:T

Well its officially i've left parent forum, i made silly stupid mistake back in November and now i'm sick of all the carp and witchy comments and horrible things thrown back in my face. I asked for help of one of the people who i thought i was close to and completely refused to acknowledge me. To me that was the last straw, i'd sorted they kids, meetings, hospital appointments and all sorts of things for them.
LA has also told me now, since i left the other group to leave the support group as we don't have the same "outlook".

I wrote a very heartfelt apology saying how i wasn't in the right state of mind, none of it was personal towards any of them in any way shape or form it was that i needed to concentrate on my family as ds2 is going through some very difficult changes in his life. Also said they were all very special people who i adore them much and thanked them for all the support they have given me.

I all flared up because i said to the group about asking pps and education department to come for a one off meeting to allow parents the option to ask about the differences between special units, anxious pupils and mainstream schools. But also to ask what kind of support would they be for children going back to mainstream after a break from it.
I genuinely thought it was relevant as i had a lot of parents asking me about it and asked if i could ask the parent forum to see if it could arranged.

Instead i had thrown in my face how i had no right to ask as apparently because my children were in mainstream school i shouldn't advise people. They also said i had no right to voice an opinion because i suggested pps to parents to try and solve the matter in school rather than straight away putting a child putting straight into a special unit.

Im really upset about the whole and i have been crying my eyes out all day. I feel completely worthless, didn't get a thank you kiss me as$ nothing. Just a message your not welcome in the group any more after i sent them a very heartfelt message.
I didn't write anything malicious or nasty as that just isn't right.

    I'm such an idiot.

Morning Toughies - and a very Happy, Healthy and hopefully slightly more or enormously more prosperous 2014 to you all!

Not been around for quite a few weeks or even lurking so here goes!!

Have decided on kitchen revamp this year so...... as DiL No 2 says - its not what you want - its what you need & she's right. DH & I do not have the same lifestyle we had when we were working so there are lots of things I have but do not need so Freecycle & the local hospice shop are going to do very well out of me this year!
I've already managed a small wardrobe cull & the shredded paper is all going to help start the woodburner. I've also tidied up all the toiletries from Christmas & I will use everything up that I have in the cupboard & not buy any more until I've run out of something (next year by the size of the stash!!)
Mardywotsit. Here's the recipe for faggots
    1 kg of belly pork !- 3.89 -!50%
    500g of lamb's liver !- 1.50 -!25%
    500g of bacon offcuts - 0.75 -!25%
    5 bread crust - homemade - 0.10
    10 small onions - 0.59
    2 Free range eggs - 0.32
Bag of onions, half finely diced for the faggots and the other half, also finely diced for the gravy. 0.59
    Salt, pepper and dried sage.
If you have your own food processor or mincer, then these are really easy to make.!

    1. Cut the rind off the belly pork, cut into cubes and pulse in the food processor until minced.
    2. Add to a large mixing bowl, or clean washing up bowl.
    3. Cut bacon into chunks, I use 'bacon off cuts', and again, pulse in the food processor until minced, add to the mix.
    4. Skin and roughly chop the onions and then blitz until small chunks. Add half to the mix and half into a sauce pan with some fry light or oil if you are not watching your weight.
    5. Place five bread crusts in the processor and blitz, add to the mix.
    6. Cut liver into chunks and pulse, be careful not to puree it.
    7. Add four heaped tablespoons of dried sage, one tablespoon of salt and one tablespoon of ground black pepper.
    8. Crack two eggs into the mix.
    9. Roll up sleeves, get your hands in and mix thoroughly.
    111. Whilst they are cooking, fry the onions, pour gravy granules on top and make a litre and a half of gravy. I use veggie gravy because it has an onion flavour from the dried onion granules which I find better than a meaty gravy.
    12. After 30 minutes, add the gravy evenly over the dishes and cook for another 10 minutes.
    13. Leave to cool.
    14. Bag into portion sizes for your needs 0. Form into balls and place into several deep baking dishes and roast in a hot oven for approx. 30 - 40 minutes.
That is such a simple recipe and easy to make - just stir with your hands and form into balls with your hands. If you don't have a food processor, then you could buy minced pork and chop the bacon and liver really finely.!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
