Morning all, yesterday I had the pleasure if working all day. Lots of racing on so was busy for us, we were given a big box of chocolates and £10 from one grateful man. He is widowed, and was glad he could come in and just chat.

OH had a lazy day, and youngest DD was with her BF. My mum cooked a lovely roast dinner for us all when I finished work at 6pm. All my family was there.

My brothers 2 boys were in trouble Christmas day, they sneaked downstairs at 2am and opened all their presents. Then they went back to bed and got up later on. To say my brother was disapointed..... well next year they are leaving them in the conservatory with the door locked.

Well must get dressed, need to take mum shopping and then guess what, I have work later.

Take care everyone, im glad you all had some lovely times with your family. Oh I wish my kids were little again.

Bin emtied few days ago is now full and nother 2weeks before black bin emptied! Might have to do tip run.

Thinking relxing day in house watching tv, baths all round and bit of tidying, washing will do snacky lunch and casserole for tea hubbys working today younger 2 just woken up eldest nearly 8shes well grumpy not a morning person!

The wind kept me awake last nite.

hope everyones warm, not flooded and has power.

flippig netbook is dying keeps cutting out nd only computer we have so might have tosearch for cheap replacement.

Got jaimies money saving meals book off mate will tke god look at it later and gove verdict i found the stuff in his series quite pricey as he wanted peple buy 20quid beef dont think he quite understood bless him that frugal and poverty not same thing and even if better value people wont have 20quid upfront one go.

Need to look at turkey thread to work out what to do with 7reduced turkey crowns.

Im thinking proper roast every sunday for next 3months with monday night maybe being chicken and leek pie, curry, faiitas maybe, also reckon be some leftover for sandwiches as crowns are pretty much all meat and kids dont eat huge amount.
if every oter week rotation with the gammon joints then week day meals alternate between fish or mince deals.

also want to put together anther parcel for foodbank and going to try donating monthly as we wont need spend much on food in jan.

Was hellish night, that's me just up! Poor RV was up and down like a yoyo half the night hearing bangs and crashes but it was a blizzard and he couldn't see anything, everything was white. Am off upto the sales asap to get some thicker curtains, am fedup of draughts.
  • Morning everyone.

I hope your all managing to stay safe where ever you are across the country! We’re taking a bashing from the wind, Nearly lost a few roof tiles last night but no lasting damage luckily.

I’ve been watching the news reports on other parts of the country and cannot believe my eyes. The amount of people who had little or no Christmas due to the weather is shocking.

Christmas here was amazing, So much time was spent just enjoying one another’s company. Baby ruby was spoilt, Which was unsurprising really. She got loads of new clothes and toys but never really understood anything. She also got her very first baby laptop & pepper pig DVD. She loves both.

Also, In bigger news, My OH and I have decided to plan our wedding for this year. We have been putting it off for three years and finally we’re biting the bullet! So busy year to come all round.

I haven’t had the time to reply to inbox’s or read the thread, But I wanted to wish all you a fabulous new year. Where ever you are stay safe x
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.

  • Morning everyone.

It has been an awful night here. Strong wind and pelting rain on windows. Not had much sleep as the wind found every gap round doors and windows to whistle/whine/roar thru.:eek: I even resorted to ear plugs but nothing blocked the noise completely.

The weather has changed my plans to go out for a short while. I need fresh air but bad chest does not need cold wind.

Congratulations Princessx. Something wonderful to look forward to.

Morning toughies, it's hellish here. Wind has kept me awake all night and apparently it won't hit peak until mid day.
Good to hear you are all coping and not too badly hit having seen some of the news scenes it's so scary.

We braved the shop yesterday as DD 19 got a new phone and I didn't realise it beefed a different sim oops. Was closed so wandered into Mr t and got couple of gifts I had decided to leave this year but changed mind Christmas day.

Dd7 has been awake ill since early hours so we will be sitting tight today.

Mardatha I bought new curtains from bhs couple weeks ago (been promising to buy some since we moved in 2.5 years ago) they are lovely and were in sales.

Another one with a windy sleepless night but pleased to report our locality is holding up much better this time. I've made my morning calls without a hitch.

Monnagran that's terrible! If at anytime we can't access a property that we're booked into we must phone the office or on call. The supervisors then give the go ahead to call the relevant authority. Likewise a gent on Christmas Day was complaining of a sore shoulder. i reported to oncall where a nurse was deployed the next day. Something and nothing but we are the link to outside agencies for many people. My job is varied and only just learning what I have to do for each of the people I'm assigned to but I already know never to just leave a property I can't access.

I'm getting my catheter, convene and medicine training soon and have opted for further dementia care training. Think I have found my calling. Even though extremely nervous still, I am enjoying what I do.

Brilliant news too re. School holidays. The supervisor is going to make me available only on an evening and weekends in those times so I never have to worry about childcare.

    Turkey curry for our tea!

Morning all, popped into town and m&s had reduced lots of food to silly cheap prices. So OH and DD will be having steak pie for tea. Went into wilkinsons and got some fleece blankets reduced from £8 down to £2.50 as they had Christmas written on the label. Even tho inside they are just plain cream. Got some plain Christmas metallic wrapping paper, its half price and will be used all year for birthdays.

In Clintons they had a Disney ornament half price of tinkerbell, eldest DD will be getting it for her birthday.

Does anyone know if a supermarket would accept an alcohol return, see oh received some sheridans and a liqueur and we don't drink. The money could be spent on food etc. Just a thought....

Princess congratulations on the wedding plans, are you going to be bargain hunting for some of the decorations etc?

Kidcat, nextdoor has lost some of their fencing, its so windy here too. Oh is in a highsided van and says its really scarey driving.

Mar goodluck with the curtain shopping. Argos have some half price if that's any help.

Take care everyone, I have to go to work again. Keep safe and warm.
