I'm here, too! :j. Been a very long week, but getting organised for Christmas, I know it's last minute compared to some, but this is good for me at the moment! :D

CC, I'd love some lemon cake, got some home made bramble vodka to share. :rotfl: (and you will be on the floor, it's potent stuff!)

I've seen a lot of those snowflake pics before, but I love them, thanks for sharing! Reminds me that I also love pics of fractals, very similar, have a look if you like those sort of images.

    hi all!!!

how about tying a loads of doughnuts along a large piece of string at various heights. the adults then have to put they hands behind they backs and and the first person who eats the doughnut wins. Honestly we did this and it was hilarious, kids and adults played. we had two people holding it from either side and bounced the string up and down. We had more fun than the kids did hahaha

molly :) glad to hear your feeling better.

sheila that is really scary, take care of yourself honey xx

Sorry i haven't been on busy with the volunteering, attending meetings and then birthday parties. I managed to upset someone inadvertently by sending a wrong message to two groups. One group (call it A for now) wasn't bothered and was just confused. When i apologised they said oh its fine these things happen, it did last week with someone else. We laughed about it over and all was good. The other group (B) , well lets just say its caused a lot of upset. I basically was finding out info for group A and by accident sent it out to B, some of the info was relevant to both groups. So A got B's info and B got A's. So B were upset because i partly did someone else's job and they thought i had done it deliberately. Which i hadn't,it honestly was just a total coincidence, as soon as i realised what i had done, literally within a minute, i was straight on the phone and apologising for what i did and then i wrote a public apology saying the same thing and then sent what i was supposed to send.

I saw some of the people today and lets just they still aren't happy with me. Well the cold shoulder and look of death i got was unreal, only went over to say hi. They reply was i'm fine and we'll talk about that next week at the meeting. So i just didn't reply and walked away. Honestly i am sorry for what i did, i honestly didn't mean to send the wrong thing.
I'm tempted not to go to the meeting and just resign my position and say i'm really sorry i'm going to have to take a step back as i have too much going on with assessments and things.

The birthday party went well caught up with a couple of peeps and had a laugh, kids really enjoyed themselves. The game of pool was so funny, kids were pretending they were frogs and trying to catch the flies (balls) with the tongues (pool cues) completely hilarious.

Went shopping, spent a whopping £50 :eek: and didn't even get that much. Only had one of them half trolley things, didn't even get all the stuff we needed. Came back and just chilled with kids and OH and watched films all wrapped up. Really nice just relaxing for once, :)

Cornish chick - your DH's party sounds like lots of fun! If I think of any games will post later. You will need to take a lot of photos. Are you dressing up - could have a theme even if something simple like multicolours or hats and a prize for the best?

Shegar - what a horrible, scary experience for you and DH. So glad your DH was able to get you help. Hugs to you both.

Kidcat - very pleased to hear you had a nap yesterday. How are you today?

Mrs Chip - hope you are reading, how are you?

Cheapskate - I am at the early stages of Christmas preps - some in RL I know haven't started at all so you are not alone! We have several Nov/Dec birthdays which doesn't help and DS6 will be DS7 in a few days so can't fully concentrate until his birthday is all planned. Nothing Christmassy goes up til the Advent calendar so DS can have his cards up for a few days first.

Talking of Christmas, we went into town yesterday for the big lights switch on. Its the first year we have been (had 5 years in a row previously where one of us were recovering from an op this time so couldn't go as a family.) DH was a party pooper and didn't come along til the big event - lights and fireworks. However I took the kids a couple of hours earlier for all the other stuff - camels, reindeer, sheep and donkeys plus lots of Victorian street theatre performers (great as DS9 is "doing" the Victorians at school), radio station there with local choirs etc, juggler and a mad bloke dressed as a nun on a moving piano singing funny songs involving lots of comic farting - kids were in stitches. Treated my boys to a bag of sweets from a traditional sweets stall. Meet up with some friends for the finale which was nice. Then we came home to watch one of the Narnia films cuddled up with the cats on the sofa.

time for another coffee and bit longer on here then will start on the chores, bit of a list today but starting slowly... it is Sunday after all

kezlou - don't worry about the upset folk. You work very hard for others, made a simple mistake anyone could have made (if they were prepared to contribute like you do) and apologised immediately - you can do no more and have NOTHING to feel bad about.

Glad the party was fun and your eve ended up cosily like ours.

    sq :)
  • One last post (promise) - just wanted to share that I had a magical eve out on Friday. A very belated birthday gift from DH. We went to see The Russian State Ballet perform The Nutcracker at our local theatre. I wished we could have taken the children, the perfect ballet for them but the expense stopped us and the fact that we need some couple time and get it so rarely. We got there early to have a drink first and pleased to find prices like local cafes instead of London theatre prices.

The dancing (and dancers) was breathtaking, the costumes dazzling and the orchestra superb. I didn't want it all to end! Only 10 mins were spoilt by a selfish and silly woman rusting a multipack of crisps for her group (all grown women) and continuing for ages in spite of many angry glares from several of us. I still have the music in my head.

    sq :)

Kezlou, don't you dare resign, you made a mistake with technology (a lot worse has been done and will continue to do so), you did not murder anyone. Walk tall, head held high, and turn the tables on them by not accepting their judgemental attitude, you have apologised, that's it,

Cold shoulders and looks of death are unwarranted and unacceptable by adults who should know better. Please don't let them upset you, they will survive and get over it, you are human, mistakes are allowed.

Maybe rehearse your response to them, keep it simple, but hold that head up, believe me, this is the voice of experience speaking, giving in to people only allows them more power than is justified and just makes you feel regret over your life.

    Hugs.

edit: one last word (or two), if you let them judge you and treat you this way, you are saying they are correct (and they are not) and they will continue to use bullying as a method to get what they want. It has to stop. I believe in you!

Being sometimes a bit cynical - if you have explained and they are still giving you a hard time and dirty looks - then maybe feel like saying "I am sorry you feel that way about an honest mistake, immediately rectified and explained". "If it is going to create such an atmosphere perhaps I am spreading myself too thin and should leave in order to concentrate on the other group".

The above being said in a perfectly friendly and innocently helpful
    way.

I have a shoulder of pork in the oven and waiting for dd to get home and another dd to arrive for a short visit with BF.

DH has just helpfully reminded me I did not soak peas for mushy peas last night  so will use the no soak ones instead and if anyone has a problem with that I may get a bit tight lipped.

I think roast potatoes, lots of veg, carrots and swede as a mash, yorkshires, roast parsnips should be plenty. Have defrosted a cheesecake and have fresh raspberries to go with it for afters.

Nipping through to kitchen to juggle pans and sneak up on yorkies.

    Hug to all

    Hello everyone :)

kezlou First of all have a hug (((((((((hugs))))))))))) Second I'm going to share something that my therapist told me last week....Imagine a room full of people watching an emotionally charged film. Those people are all going to react in different ways, some are going to cry, some might smile, some might have no reaction at all. Their reactions are all coloured by their own experiences, their own emotions and everything that has and is happening to them and those around them. Doing something that you view as upsetting and feel guilty about is exactly the same. You are only responsible for the action and not people's response to it. It was an honest mistake made with no malice intended at all and you have done everything possible to correct it. If anyone has a problem then it is theirs and nothing to do with you. Hope that makes sense.

I have been busy working in the shop, with book group, baking, cooking, dealing with various messes and problems and trying to sort out Christmas. I've made two stockings to give as presents and have 15 to go  Eeek Also 7 bags and 4 crayon/stationary rolls to make as well. Along with teacup pin cushions and candles, knitted flowers, DS2's scarf to finish, marshmallows, shortbread and gingerbread men. Does anyone have a handy time machine or failing that, a wife I can borrow?
I've been to The Range this morning and stocked up on more felt and yet more stocking fillers.
That reminds me, Lidl have these coming in tomorrow. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-FF4022E5-408D5138/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=7529&ar=3
I thought they would make a fab present.

I'd better have some lunch and get back to the sewing machine. Take care everyone xxxxxxxxx

sq it was lovely just chilling out with each other, perfect night for us both :D
the theatre sounds amazing, theres a showing in m'boro soon so may take the boys to see it ;)

    Mrs Chip you okay chickadee?
elona your dinner sounds lovely :) hmm raspberries hmmmm

sdg thanks hun, blumming heck that how many stockings?! if you were closer i'd give you a hand :D I love making things, just can't get in the garage to start mine. Ah well it will come.

Thanks peeps, but i honestly don't think i can be dealing with it all. If people can't accept an apology for such a simple mistake i just don't think i can't work with them.
I'm not getting paid for the position, so i am literally giving up my time. Which is not a problem as i enjoy it, i enjoy going to conferences and being able to support others as well as myself.
Its just i'm not a good place right now and think i may say what elona has suggested and if they say anything just walk away and leave. My anxiety and paranoia are pushed so far up its unreal.

OH asked me what was wrong and i told him what happened He reckons they being over emotional, i showed him what i wrote and he said the email could have been for anyone as no names where used only own.

Well off to assist OH with commissioning a boiler, ds2 is being very differcult so going to have to drag him out of bed.
