FUDDLE....No its not boring reading , at least I can say well ive known fuddle a long time because she has moved house 4 times since I first knew her....:rotfl:.......
BYATT......I always did check my blood very regular , and always before driving.........I never drove below 5 .........Dr at the hospital told me not to drive until they have got my warning signs back, I have to run my bloods at between 10 and 15 for the next 10 weeks , so that then when it drops after that period I will be noticing it ..................Hopefully I will then know that im going low before I konk out .............
Over the past week ive been talking to hubby about permanent care and after loads of tears he is gradually seeing what I mean about my health, and espeically after the past 2 days , he is very upset by it, but ive promised him that I will have him home every other weekend plus I will visit him as often as I can , im slowly trying to talk to him about it, but its a very sensitive subject for us both...........
But ive got to think of my long term illnesses , and how much im being dragged down by his health and mine............Ive really had a sh*t past 3 weeks , and even I cant beleive the amount of problems I get ......Hope you are all bearing up with life and the weather.........Sheila0 -
Sheila its also worth considering that a managed move now is far better than an emergency one should your health really turn. There is time to plan and work at a plan.0

Sheila, sending hugs, what a terrible few days. Hope you feel better soon. xxxClearing the junk to travel light

Shegar. How scary. Well done to your OH managing to call 999. I hope your able to rest up and the driving ban is quickly over.
Hugs to all that need them.
Its been very strained here at present. With the up & coming court case for OH brother quickly approaching, His family are under a hellish amount of pressure.
I'm slightly worried about OH. He is still ignoring just how serious everything has become and pretends that everything is fine. In the real world it isn't.
I am feeling rough. It seems that I might have some sort of throat infection now. Feels like everything I swallow has razor blades attached to it. I also have the chills & an ear ache. I suppose its the time of year and virus / infections alike are rampant.
Anyway enough of my boring chatter....Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Sorry to hear you've been so unwell Shegar. Have you considered looking for somewhere that you and hubby could both go? My grandfather and his wife moved into a complex where they had a little house of their own next to a nursing home. While he was well enough to be at home, he lived there, and she had help from the staff. When he was too ill for her to manage, he went into the nursing home, and she was able to visit him constantly as it was just across the road. He died a few years ago, but she has carried on living there as it's a lovely community - and apparently it isn't just full of old people.
They did have a small garden, although they wouldn't have been able to keep chickens, and although they kept a car, it was also on a good bus route. They kept their independence but had lots of support, and both of them had the advantage of having on-site medical professionals too.
I know you've got some difficult decisions to make, but I'm sure there will be a solution for you.0 -
Oh Sheila what an awful shock. Well done hubby for getting help.
Greenbee's plan is an attractive one, I wonder if that would be possible?0 -
Well, what an up and down week it's been for so many - hugs for all the exam/driving test passes, beating personal demons, good news, etc., but also much love and hugs to those really under the cosh, you know who you are, wish I could hug you in RL!
Managed to get a few jobs done today, despite feeling dog tired and black dog breathing down my neck; painted out some marks on the littlies' bedroom wall, took a car load to the tip, bought a new kitchen bin and kitchen scales, hoovered all downstairs and washed and dried some bedding. Need to finish magazine stitching over the weekend, but also want to make bathroom curtain and buy fabric to make door curtains, been scouring CS for weeks, but to no avail.
Some of you may remember my mum was recently diagnosed with dementia? Well, the other day she watched the last Poirot from start to finish, but told me that she couldn't remember anything, though knew she'd seen it! Bittersweet, really, funny tale, but really hit home how her memory's going. All the more frustrating when she could always summarise any book she'd read or film/programme she'd seen. Think it upsets her more than she lets on, I've definitely had many weepy moments lately, but trying hard to be grateful that she's still with us and still has her personality pretty much intact!

Oh - and then there is the sticky toffee puddings and something for the diabetics. I get stuck for the diabetic puds, fresh fruit salads and fruit in sugarless jelly have been done to death. I think I may make a mousse from a sugarless jelly and evaporated milk unless any of you talented people have some other suggestions.
x
I make a diabetic cheesecake for my FIL. I crush digestives with melted butter and line a tin. Then I combine a sugar free jelly - that has cooled a little and is just starting to set- with a tub of marscopone or soft cheese - full fat so it sets - whisk together and pour into the tin and set in fridge. Yummy and low sugar served with fruit.
Or a fruit crumble - eating apples and other naturally sweet fruits, stewed without added sugar with crumble mixture without added sugar but add some muesli for a nutty top.
The thinking has changed for diabetics and is now going over to eating a healthy balanced diet without cutting too much out - everything including sugar in moderation :TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
How are you doing Molly? Are you feeling better after your transfusion?0
