Hi everyone, Molly I hope the blood transfusion makes you feel better. I would love to give blood, but due to my AD I am not allowed.
It feels bitterly cold here now, ive had to put the heating on. I switched on the fire, just the pretend flame part, and it feels a little warmer already.
I went to aldi after work, it was so busy. Only needed a few bits and then I looked in mr s and got some petrol. Tomorrow is mums appointment in the breast care centre. They found something on the mammogram. I just hope it turns into nothing.
Tonight its just OH and me so its egg and chips. Lovely home food.
Must go do some tidying up, take care xBSC member 137

Thanks Lyn.
I'm expecting a pretty bad winter and will be prepared... When my things are out of the storage unit!
I do know I need to make a door curtain as the front door opens straight onto living room. Brrrrr
Eldest DD been on school trip - 2nd world war rationing. She told me of the banana sandwich she had. " really little fuddle, you sure? I don't think they had bananas in the war era" "no mam, they didn't. I ate a parsnip sandwich with flavouring on it. They didn't tell us till we ate it. I don't like parsnip but I liked that!" Er, is that a subtle hint dear? Mwahahahagoes to show though. She wants a look in We'll Eat Again when it's unpacked. Nice lessons in modern day frugality I think so taking advantage while she's interested.

Hi everyone.
Many thanks for all your good wishes - too many of you to remember! We won't be moving until July so plenty of time for decluttering. I have given myself a target of tackling one drawer or shelf every day, well most days. I started today and the drawer I turned out produced £65 worth of book tokens. A lot of people will be getting books for Christmas this year! I am suddenly enthused about this decluttering business, with a bit of luck I will be a rich woman by the end of it.
The folk here are not too thrilled, I think they still nurtured hope that somehow something would happen to enable us to stay. We intend to come back to the Island when the Rev retires (I will be 83 then and probably dribbling in a wheelchair), and we will be back often for visits because of my DS2 and family being here, so we are not cutting our links with the place at all.
Fuddle: I know all about dodgy people moving not too far away. I have made my plans! I just need to brush up on my map reading and learn that not every place beginning with 'W' is Wimbourne.
This move seems to have galvanised me and I am full of energy suddenly. Honestly, it all starts in the brain doesn't it? I've been lethargic and tired for ages but have been given a fresh injection of enthusiasm and am raring to go..
nutty: fingers crossed for your mum tomorrow. It's a worrying time but hopefully will turn out to nothing to be concerned about.
I met one of my homeless friends while shopping this morning and we went into a little cafe and had toad in the hole, root veg mash and onion gravy for lunch. It was lovely, the Rev was out to lunch so nothing else to be cooked today. Well, maybe boiled eggs and soldiers for tea.

Feeling miles better already. My blood pressure has gone up, my pulse gone down and my cheeks have a whiff of rosiness xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
It must be cold out tonight, I've got all the kittens fighting over the fireside baskets...I've got my clothes airer shoved in front of the fire too and have managed to dry the best part of two loads of washing by fire heat alone this evening.....I keep turning and turning and moving and turning it - the room is nice and toasty too so my draft proofing and new triple layer door curtains are doing their job.
Just caught up with Tudor farm too, loved the bowl making, what a skill!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Molly I am so glad you are feeling better
Monnagran - glad you have got to grips with the idea of moving, good that you have plenty of notice as well
Kez - some days are just like that and you wonder why you bother - hopefully tomorrow will bring better for you.
As for the snow - I was asked by three different people what to get in to be prepared - it was a shocker as I hadnt realised that they knew I prep for everything and also I hadnt thought they would even bother prepping, but it was good.
Its been a yuck few days and I am taking a hammering, mainly due to a school group I have been running, it seems one of them is looking to find issue with everything I do, say and take part in and as such I am persona non grata on the school yard in places. Today I went to the head and told her I was resigning, explained why and said that whilst I wanted to give back to the school, the price here was too high. She has asked me to stay for tomorrows meeting and she intends setting ground rules etc and trying to clear the air - in reality I think the damage is done and I am not expecting to stay.
Its annoying as the person who is causing the issues isnt doing it for the reasons she says she is - she has a problem with her husband being friendly and with the fact I am doing stuff with my kids, holidays etc - which she wont/cant do, and her insecurity is causing it. I get it, but how do I say, look I think your husband is lovely and he is my friend but honey I have enough problems with one man, I would much rather have none at all! And obviously unless she is totally honest about the problem it can never be addressed.0 -
Well its finally Friday!! We have sunshine in the garden already. DD is on an education trip, she received her official gcse grading for speaking and listening English A*. Yay, considering she had speech therapy at 2 as she couldn't talk at all, she still has a teaching assistant to help her. Hopefully this will give others inspiration, they can achieve anything. It is her 3rd time taking the exam tho!!
Please can we stop all the Christmas adverts, I don't feel Christmassy at all. I have done a bit of shopping but I need payday to finish off. Not that they are getting many items, and the bits I have got have been from ebay.
I will update hopefully later on my mum, please keep everything crossed for her - honestly don't think I can cope if it is the dreaded 'c' word.BSC member 137
