Morning all, very windy here last night, I've inspected the garden well the bits I can see from the windows.. and all looks okay here. Still blustery here and the temp has dropped but all a ok.
Hugs n hope everyone else got through safely.

Morning!
I was watching the live weather data from Milford Haven last night and there was zero wind - which must be unusual in itself! Brother was reporting similar from Essex coast. I can only assume the front dipped a bit lower than expected and clipped the southwest and south coast. There seems to have been a lot of damage where it did hit. Looking at the jetstream forecast, there looks like the possibility of high winds again next weekend in the south/west.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Good morning,
Here in the West Midlands we have been very lucky, no wind to speak of. We had some rain during last evening and the night, but no more than might be expected at this time of year.
Some shocking pictures on the news this morning of the south coast. Stay safe everyone.

I only know what I have heard on the radio. I hope everyone is safe, here no rain, little wind. Worst I experienced here was between 7pm-11pm yesterday but I went out to a nasty night and came home to nothing.
Is it as bad as other storms? Overhyped by the media and also extra cautious(certain papers are always saying the storm or winter from hell is coming)but I won't play it down because there are poor people today without a loved one, without power, damaged properties etc...though the last two can be repaired/replaced.
I hope anyone in the areas affected are safe/sound and those who mean something to you are well."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

:rotfl: Well after telling everyone to stay safe I was hit by a flying fence panel.
Was trying to save one when another flew out and hit me. Nice gash in my leg and bruising.
Hope you all came off lighter than me.0 -

Has home first aid worked? I hope so but do take it easy and rest(if you can)Sure it needs no checking out by a nurse etc...?
I hope so...
I'm so happy I finally invested in a first aid cupboard(which hopefully is rarely needed)all we ever had here for perhaps 50 years were plasters. Towards the end of Mum's life and since...I've had the lot.
Plasters, wipes, sprays, scissors, small bandages, safety pins, cough bottles, pain killers etc...and as there are long dates on my meds...even spares of them...I'll regret saying this but I don't cut/burn myself that often but occasionally do something silly which needs a plaster.
I did that more when clearing the house if I stepped on something sharp."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

OMO, I feel for you. I am sure you have, but make sure you put some antiseptic on the gash before the dressing. No tellings what dirt might be on the fence panel.

Good morning Pops.
Didn't I say the other day how organised you were, and now you tell us about your first aid box, you put me to shame.
You might think about hiring yourself out to the likes of me when you have some spare time lol.

I still had my pjs on so it stayed quite clean. I have wiped it with an antiseptic wipe. I am not going into work today and am sitting here with it elevated, letting some air get to it. Their bleeding has now stopped. It is on the shin bone and down the side of the bone.
It stings more than anything and the surrounding area is tender. I expect the bruise will properly come out over the day. xx0 -
Not a happy bunny post!!
I have been appealing decisions from the HMRC for nearly a year. Their service & staff are incredibly unprofessional in every area.
So after nearly six months of getting letters which makes no sense I decided to call them to discuss the matter & hopefully find the light at the end of a long tunnel.
After a 18 min hold on their telephone line to speak to a human I get told that my account is in such a mess that the adviser cannot help me. When I questioned this he told me that I would have to wait another three weeks for someone to decide whether they will write me another letter or if someone will call me. This is just to rearrange my account to something that every party member can understand.
All the while, They are charging me £25 a day fine and cant put this on hold and no one can explain to me why they have lost 4 returns. They are asking me again to print off a fifth and repost. I don't think no one there understands that ink, paper, Stamps all cost money and on top of that I then have the pleasure of a unjust fine because of their cr*p service.
Ok, I think that's my rant & rave over!!
On my own, I hope you get better quickly! Please stay away from more flying objects. Normally the results are never great!! xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0
