Hows everyone doing? Getting blown away? Hope not! Its almost dark but my own personal time in Pop's towers is 19.13(real time is 17.15)

Thanks for the advice mcculloch29. I have hesitated about applying for DLA or any other benefit fearing I would not qualify and be made to feel like a 'scrounger'. But I will take your advice and visit the CAB next week to get help on applying.;)
Garden looking well sorted pops. I have no garden, only a teensy veranda, so it saves work but I do miss being able to grow a few things. Could not cope with a big place though - not nowadays.
You also sound very organised pops. Anyone investigating my living space would soon get the idea that I am totally disorganised. Its not as bad as it looks - honest - and I do usually know where things are.
I was supposed to be at church tonight helping with our annual service for the families of those whose funerals we have conducted this year. BUT - when I came home this morning I began to be quite ill - high temperature, shivers, vomiting (and the other distressing prob) so have had to get someone else to cover. Am feeling a little better now and managed to keep toast down so I hope its just been a passing thing.
Hope everyone is safe overnight whatever the weather throws at us.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Easy to say but take care of you AOT, How terrible to feel so out of sorts. I usually go a for a little bit of toast if I am out of sorts. Good to hear that you feel better than earlier in the day, a good night's sleep may help hopefully.
Its getting quite wild out there...I hear we are supposed to get rain and to the South the wind. Well here so far no rain but we have the winds...

There is not a breath of wind here, not sure if we are just protected by being tucked into the valley, but it is strange - have seen the pics from the south and London on the BBC website and it is obviously very windy there already!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

It's been still here for the last hour or so, but has just started chucking it down. Calm before the storm?
Been baking today, just in case... not quite done everything, but hopefully bought myself some time for tomorrow, whatever happens.
DD came and gave me a hand and bought the sproglet, she's just started to smile at things, she liked Mr Pumpkin on her halloween bib, and when you showed him to her, she gave her little wonky smile. Very cute. He was black and white, that's one of the things I think they see easily and find interesting I think?
We had just had dinner, Jacket spuds, some YS gammon, some coleslaw my neigbour gave me leftover from her dinner last night (I was there...village ladies night out. We all bring a course, cheaper and more fun than going out, and we can all walk home) I went in with DD to collect my dish and so she could poke sprog. She gave me the coleslaw, and a bag of Peppers and aubergines they've grown surplus to requirements and a bag for DD too. Nom Nom.
I've been feeling a bit peculiar all day (no NOT a hangover!) and will have a nice early night I think...I keep feeling weird. Kind of empty, really hungry and faint. Eating doesn't seem to stop it
I must go and see the GP...won't be this week though I shouldn't think. It's probably me age *eyerolls

Morning everyone. It seems its been quite on here since 8:30pm last night. Hopefully, Many if not all of you haven't seen any side effects of the storm?
I'm not sure what's going on, But we've had nothing! Only some rain last night but nothing to shout about. I keep hearing on the TV its moving so not sure whether we'll actually see anything.

Morning all. Its been very windy here, even in my square. Our houses are town houses and are arranged around a green space so most wind tends to swoop accross the the roofs but never in the gardens. Yesterday and this morning is a different story though! A couple of branches are off the trees but as i say we are very sheltered so the main roads may be different. I hope travelling isnt too bad as the children and i are off to hastings for a short holiday today - our first in five years.0

Morning everyone
Hope everyone is okay and survived the bad weather? Down here in Dorset, it was very wet and windy overnight but no major damage anywhere that I could see. Took the dog out this morning and there were lots of branches down in the park but no trees - I also saw a few wheelie bins up and down paths on my travels. The felt on next door's shed has ripped off and is currently in our garden but no damage done.
It's grey now but the rain has stopped and the wind has dropped - hope everyone else has been as lucky.
Hugs to all,
Debbie0 -
Nothing but rain here, but some of the pictures from elsewhere look awful.0

Think it missed us entirely. Wasn't as windy as it can be normally
Hey ho.. off to prep for the market. Catch up with you later.
