Try a letter to your MP Px - I know from first-hand experience that the dept has to respond PDQ to them, and lots of hoop jumping occurs! I would also try Martin, BBC, press, anyone who kick up a fuss.

I agree, but also look at their own complaints procedure, as any complaint from outside will not be looked at if you haven't followed their own route first: HMRC complaints

    NuttyP,
What a lovely reason for being MIA. Not taking anything from your post or meaning to talk about "Me"

I do a lot of window shopping...and following in from your reference to horrendous prices.

I wrote a blog post a few weeks back about the price of some items. Especially, clothes in Durham City. Of course some items are beautiful and a lot of work has gone into them but for many they would be impractical for daily wear and cost a fair bit to care for.

If I was wealthy would I be hypocritical and spend money like water or keep my OS attitude? I wonder...I suspect I would have one big shop and make my home like new and that will last me for however long I have remaining, if we still believe in the three score year and ten I'm well in the last score. If we believe in something like middle age, again I'm passed that:p:(

But what I own is reasonable and I have decent clothes so I don't look scruffy and if I had to attend an event where you need to be smart I could do so.

At home I can be casual and slouch around if I wish avoiding spoiling my "Better" stuff.

As said elsewhere you'll not see something out of house and home but soon I will post images of my home(only my word)but you'll see how uncluttered my home is so the frequency of calls could be reduced. Even my Dr agrees on that one.

How lovely to have the chance of a holiday...wherever you choose I'm sure you'll just enjoy the change.

Thankyou everyone, tbh it has gone so fast in a strange way. At the time it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had to deal with. It is something that isn't taken lightly and it effects everything, from work to trying to get home and car insurance. But that's in the past, I now only buy what is needed, and I do as martin says, do I need it, can I afford it and could I get it cheaper else where.

Tonight we has swede for tea, I found it on the side of the road, and a dropped cauli from a farmers rig. Was lovely too.

I hope everyone has survived the weather, we just lost the wooden clothes post.

  • Congratulations Nutty. :T

(((HUGS))) PrincessX. Can't give my opinion of HMRC on a public forum. It's disgraceful to treat you like that - just covering up their own inadequacies!

OMO hope you are taking proper care of that injury. You don't want to let it get infected.

Glad you are so organised pops. I used to be when had the family to think of but now there is just me I tend to let things drift. Must get self pulled together.

Made big pan of veg soup today. It's delicious but hands have now seized up. :o

I can quite understand that AOT, I don't think a little bit of slack and taking it easy is a bad thing whether its through choice or because you have to so that you can do more on other days.
