  • Hi all
    Prepped for the storm done.
Belated happy birthday to you Mrs chip.
Question for all you clever peeps,
I have a friend staying next week who eats gluten free, and i need to make a birthday cake, i have brought gluten free flour, but does that sneaky gluten hide in any other items i would normally use in a standard recipe for Cake?

Sometimes in baking powder/bicarb - check on the tub. Most of them use rice flour but best to check.

Check all ingredients to be on the safe side... especially if you friend is coeliac.

In case anyone hasn't spotted it on the Grabbit board the Radio Times offer covering Christmas is back - 13 weeks for 90p, just remember to cancel the subscription. Still worth it for me even though I only ever buy the Xmas edition.

Ooh I dunno, I got it but I can't remember if I got an email or not. I've done it for about the last 4 or 5 years I think.
I've got a confirmation email this time, and I didn't get an email from them (unless it went in my trash in which case I wouldn't have bothered looking at it!).

I am feeling a little tear full today, DH is very tired and it just brings it home how real his illness is, iykwim. I am not in denial about the cancer, just been trying to carry on as normal, but when you husband sleeps for most of the day and he used to be so energetic its hard, It doesn't help that he is anaemic , but not getting another blood test till next week.so nothing will be done for another week.
I am trying to be up beat for him, and cheerful, but its hard.

anyway, that's my winge/feel sorry for my self moment.

hello to all the toughies, where every you are, stay safe, remember your sparkly red shoes for Sunday/ Monday, and its " click" there's no place like home" 3 times.

    (((hugs))) CornishChick, and Mr Chick

I have done the subscription, and got an email, but if I remember correctly, I got that last year - it was afterwards that I received the email cancelling my subscription . We will see!
