Hi all - well they say trouble comes in three's. DH had problems with his speedo on his trike - then my upstairs lights wouldn't work & then my freezer went on the blink.
Trike & lights sorted - new control panel for freezer will be done on Tuesday (minus £200.00 from bank account ;() Lovely neighbours rallied round & stashed my food in their freezers. Phew - especially as I'd just stocked up with meat from Mrs L's Farm Shop last weekend!!!!

Happy Birthday Mrs Chip - I'm a fan of Stellar pans too - they're really worth the extra. I also like their bakeware I always look out for them in TK Max - been lucky & got three or four items there ;)

I remember the storms of 86 & 87. In the 86 one we had one tile off the roof but we had a pergola in our garden with brick pillars. The wind had lifted the whole lot, pillars & all & dumped it nearly upright in next doors garden. I thought the garden looked strage somehow......! The next year I was sitting at me desk next to a picture window when the front fascia came swinging down through the window with a huge bang showering glass everywhere. I don't think I've ever moved so quick haha. Fingers crossed for everyone this time & hope it blows itself out before it does any damage.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Pops, as others have said, they may be wondering whether you can actually afford to heat your home, especially with empty rooms and being on your own. Also, if you are so far in credit with your fuel, why not put the heating on for background warmth and to help your aches & pains occasionally?

Happy to say so far its mild if horrible out there. Being so far in credit I am better prepared this year, so far I have not been cold leaving the CH off but I can keep it on at a low setting here and there.

Even today with no CH on it was around 19c indoors but of course there were no doors open unlike yesterday when doors were open so the gardener run his strimmer/mower from a socket indoors. Its warmer upstairs too.

Some may dislike certain things being on their medical records but by telling my Dr someone is in the picture and my Dr is so good to me and was to my Mum. I dread the day he retires. I have his support and he's ready to step in if required. He thinks I am doing very well. And would like to see these visits and problems with neighbours come to an end asap.

Popperwell - if you think people might think you are weird, what would they make of the motley crew posting on this thread? And put that heating on a bit, you are not extravagant, you pay your bills, and any fool can be uncomfortable.

Big headed perhaps but if you met me I think most people would get on with me. In real life I am so laid back.

Just eaten some of that casserole of veg and chicken breasts from the slow cooker...it was lovely, enough perhaps for another two servings(plenty of veg in the fridge/freezer for other meals too)

Not the best savings and it still cost me £5.80 but reduced in Tesco's from £11 I found two beef steaks(which I can cube and get a few meals out of)and four free range chicken drumsticks and four free range chicken thighs from the Finest Range.

I was going to buy a 400g bloomer loaf at 80p but one double the size was only 50p more and it will last awhile and I have those special bread bags that make it last longer. I will get back to making some of my own soon.

Back home and ready to rest, I'll listen to the radio, watch some tv on catch up, sleep a bit etc...

Not complacent but the weather website I use suggests we'll miss a lot of the bad weather in my part of the North on Monday.

For the first time in my life this year unless I go out to an event/catch a bus I'm going to try setting my own time to live by in Winter and get up later and go to bed later in general so I make the most of the light that is available, I may even put my watch forward another hour :p Now that is weird but someone else is doing it so who says I can't live my life by my own time zone:rotfl:

Mrs C and I are RIGHT smack bang on the coast...she's closer to the sea than me though! I'd offer to let you all know how bad it is when it arrives, but when we disappear off line you'll know we've had a power cut!

The weather animation for my area suggests it will go around my area on both sides and miss us for some reason...
