Evening peeps,
Nice to see a bit of late sunshine here and a few towels blowing on the line before the rain comes - again!
What a rotten time so many people are having
kIDCAT I hope the awful morning person gets off your back at school now, what a nightmare , as if you don't have enough to cope with
SHEILa sorry you are having to struggle so much, hopefully the respite will give you a chance to rest and feel refreshed
jEM stay safe and do what is best for you and your children
MONNAGRAN I feel so sorry for the poor man who has lost his benefits. I have had my first ever experience of the benefits system over the last few weeks while I have been off sick and it certainly isn't easy for genuine claimants who have worked for years and paid into the system and then need a little help to get them through. People need help when they are at their most vulnerable, not being made to jump through hoops.
Thanks for all the kind comments the other day about my Mum and her dementia. I've asked social services for an urgent review (what a performance that was, getting to speak to a real person) and we're going to view a home next week as a back up plan. I feel I should have expert input and advice from someone as its too big a decision for me to make, putting Mum in a home, and I know she would choose not to go if she understood what was going on, but in the end her safety and well being has to come first. A bit like the devil and the deep blue sea at the moment, do we keep her at home, do we move her....
Hugs for anyone and everyone who needs them in these difficult times.
I managed to get to the allotment today for the first time in ages. Came back with bags of pears, tomatoes, cucumbers, COURGETTES!!!
Sad to see so many lovely blackberries has gone to waste but with all the goings on with Mum, I hadn't been able to pick them managed to rescue a few so have multicoloured fingers now from berry and tomato picking. Not a good look
Hoping for a quiet evening for us all0 -
Hi all we are all okay thankyou for keeping us in your thoughts x
I am not trying to justify him in any way but I think it is all the stress he's under and he did not release how bad my head is as he's never hear.
He's going into the office tomorrow to see if he can work unsociable hours so he can do the school run.
As for the black eye he was going to hit someone and I would not let him I got in the way. Boys did he feel guilty.
I am so tired after school that I am going to bed with the kids @7 he's never home till late he's coming in to no tea and packed lunch so is no a happy bunny.
I usually have it all ready but with not been well I haven't but I did not tell him I was unwell he thought I was just been lazy.
Also our bedroom life has been difficult after I lost our triplets 4 years ago and it's coming up to the anniversary we both always suffer at this time but he refuses to talk about it.
Better get a bath now I got a taxi on the school run today he told me to £10 lighter not very MSE but I feel better.
Thankyou all again xxI have dyslexia so I apologize for my spelling and grammar0 -
Have rather rashly offered to make rice pudding for tomorrow group lunch - but cant find my SC recipe, can anyone point me in the right direction please?0
-
Kidcat I just follow the directions on the pack of pudding rice, and add a bit less milk. However I don't have any at the moment to look!
Jem - so sorry you're going through such a hard time. Please listen to the good advice you've been given here.0 -
Jem, hope you feel a bit better after your early night. I understand how you can get stressed near an anniversary, my DH knows that the anniversaries of my parents deaths is hard, doubly hard as each anniversary is close to the other parents birthday. Big hugs, hope your OH understands why he has come home to no supper - he will survive I'm sure0
-
Hugs Jem - hope you can have a chat and sort things out.
Possession - how's your DS doing at his new school? And how are the giant rabbits settling in?
I've failed as an OSer and a mother tonight, DD1 needed early dinner as she had work, I defrosted a spag Bol but it didn't taste right so she had a pot noodle. DD2 can't taste anything with her cold, I was too bushed to cook after decorating the bathroom, so she had toast. DH had a beer and some biscuits! Hey ho, no one will starve and it's made them all realise that if I'm too busy/knackered to cook then it all goes to pot.

Pooky DS is doing fine, really well in fact. He likes it and I think the independence has been really good for him.
The giant rabbits are OK - they had their spays last week and are recovering from that but Nettle also has an ulcer in her eye and it looks really sore. Getting meds in is a bit of a challenge.0 -

Our princessly cat subscribes to the theory that if god had wanted her to open the tin he would have given her thumbs instead of which he provided human slaves.0
