It must be the change of season as things are tense here too. Just been to GP and are finally getting more help. Since OH's suspected stroke she has got off her bum and started doing things but it means OH is getting stressed with all the new things to take on board. Finally getting the flu jab for him after asking every year so will have one less thing to worry about.
Im wrung out, bone tired and thinking of having a kelp drip madeIts cold and rainy here and I have just turned the storage heaters on so it should be better here by morning, the washing on the rack isnt drying so I can at least finish stuff off near the heater. Time to spread blankets and extra quilts liberally on the beds. Looking forward to my hot water bottle tonight.
SDG the box corners on you bag are called 'sugar bag bottoms' lovely term :rotfl: well done on starting your sewing.
Shegar hope things calm down soon for you.
Hugs to many, feel free to have one if you need it xxx
I saw the Fabric programme too and loved it, especially as I was knitting while I watched it.Clearing the junk to travel light

Yeah! Thank you lobbyludd :T
As a sewing newbie I thought they might be worth a try, but I don't think they will work with my measurements. I go out a bit too much around my hips.0 -
Well that's my afternoon sorted Mar thank you. I'll find it and sit with a cuppa.
I just wanted to say never underestimate the powers of egg and chips when you're feeling down. Such a cheap, yummy meal. I enjoyed it last night - one of the easiest and cheapest meals that was loved by all0 -
Bacon egg and chips is my alltime fav meal0

I do sausage egg and chips, all in the same oven tray. (Eggs in later, obviously!).
What shall I make for dinner. I am all out of ideas, I have a shocking headache and I just want to sleep. I have chicken thighs, and a slowcooker. Well obviously I have an oven too. I don't have potatoes or sausages to make afore-mentioned meal.0 -
It's ham, egg (must be dippy) and chips in the Chip houshold - with nice white bread and butter and a cup of tea:T:T:T:T (can you tell I am on a fast day?)
Morning All!
Grey and wet here, holding on to the hope of some good weather at the end of the month.
Sorry for all the woes, it is strange how good and bad times seem to come in waves on here - like the allignment of TOM in all lady establishments! Sorry chaps, but you are honorary ladies for the purposes of this thread.
I missed the fabric prog - OH sorts out the TV schedule, he knows to point out history/archaeology./cooking progs, guess thisone did not quite tick one of those boxes, but will catch on IPlayer.
I don't know what gets into men sometimes, they jst can't help treating us females like a subordinate species - but heaven forfend if we do the same! The number of times I have bitten my lip and let a cutting or harsh remark pass, but should my tone be even only slightly not quite right and it is coal hauling time!
We rowed badly last week because I had the temerity to pick up some cloths OH had put into a box of stuff we were taking to the van (in his usual way, filling the box, all in a heap) to fold them and put them in neatly. He has done this for weeks, and I didn't ever moan (we have lots to get in the box, so it needs packing properly), but he saw me pick them up and said 'I've just put those in there' in a very snotty way. So I sad 'Yes I know, I am folding them up'. So then we get the 'I can never do anything right for you, you are such a control-freak' line - well, that was it, I was not going to let that pass. It turns out he thought I picked up the cloths 'in a funny way':mad::mad:. He did have the grace to apologise later, but he still does not understand how unreasonable it is to read things into other peoples actions that just are not there. His other trick is to immediately assume I am resposible for moving stuff, losing keys, whatever - until I am able to point out exactly WHO did do it.:rotfl:
Phew, that's better!
Sun has come out now, so hope the day will get better from here.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Hello again.
Jem, I'm glad you're feeling better and more positive. I hope you manage to work things out in a reasonable fashion.
I'm still very down about situation with my son. He has not bothered to contact me this week at all and am determined not to text him any more after trying all weekend to get in touch. Its difficult though, and seems to have undone all the hard work I've put in to recover myself since my DH died.
Weather is grey, chilly and damp here so its just as well I'm not up to going out. Instead am going to play with my new toy - lightweight vax - and hope to get my carpets looking decent again. The last vacuum I had grew to be to heavy for me so carpets desperately need seeing to.
:eek::eek:
Might also wash kitchen floor if my energy levels and arthritic hips let me.
Have a good day all.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -

How about browning chicken thighs for few minutes with sliced onions, peppers, mushrooms, garlic, stock cube and a little boiling water (potatoes if have them or can boil pasta or rice to go with it later).
Once chucked in slow cooker can leave it and let it do its thing.
Could turn it into curry minus the potatoes.
Dreich morning here so made me and DH a boiled egg and home made bread toasted to cheer us up then had nice long shower and looked out long sleeved top and warmer trousers from wardrobe.
DH clambered up loft to find choice of suitcases for dd to take next week for business trip to Estonia and Latvia. Will need to give them a quick clean before she sees them!;)
Hospital appointment today is not till 4.30 so can have a quiet day other than posting jiffy bag with bits and bobs to youngest on way to hospital and making bolognese type sauce with lamb mince ready to make a lasagne tomorrow with HG marrow or courgettes instead of pasta sheets.
Might peel tatties for mash tonight with green beans and bratwurst as a quick meal in case we get back later than expected.
Hugs to all and see you later"This site is addictive!"
