  • Elona I do rather fancy curry, although DD will be miffed as she's gone right off it for some reason.

Possession - how about a Caribbean style curry - Fry off chicken, cut carrots, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, BNS, peppers (all colours) into nice big chunks and fry off, then add curry base, madras is good, stock or water to just cover and simmer till the veg are softened and chicken is cooked. Add some coconut milk or powder near the end. It makes a lovely gently spiced dish which is is very comforting. Any veg can be added really, the smaller stuff nearer the end of cooking.

  • Maybe the weather is affecting the men in our lives, mine walked into the kitchen this morning, where I was cooking his breakfast by the one working light on the cooker hood, and remarked 'Why haven't you put the lights on, it's dark this morning' I just glared at him, I've been telling him for weeks that only one lamp out of 6 was working in the kitchen.

  • Instead am going to play with my new toy - lightweight vax - and hope to get my carpets looking decent again. The last vacuum I had grew to be to heavy for me so carpets desperately need seeing to.

I just recently bought one of these too as was needing a new one. What a difference. I had thought the flat was relativey clean but filled the collector with one hurl around the place, was mortified at how actually unclean it was!
It's going to be fab at the new house with the long cable and hose, apparently I'll be able to do the whole staircase without moving the hoover so needless to say I'll be testing that out as soon as I move haha
  • Afternoon all,

Hugs to all those unhappy with the weather and OH's.
Rain has stopped here for a bit, hope it's off when I fiish work as have to go into town to sign the final purchase of the house. Because of where the office is the nearest parking is a five min walk away which is no problem except when it's chucking down the wet stuff!

....His other trick is to immediately assume I am resposible for moving stuff, losing keys, whatever - until I am able to point out exactly WHO did do it.:rotfl:....

Just like my mum before me, I always say "when I last had them, I left them...." I get glared at & then he will always laugh and look properly!

My DH is away at the moment but I'm sure he will do his bit when he gets in from the airport tonight...after I've gone to bed

I've got a dilemma (although I think I also have the solution :o)... on my allotment my french beans grew over a cane "structure" which has collapsed due to weight & wind. The beans were being left on to dry off so I can store them. They are now mostly off the plants and spread over my dining table (some still on the plants at the lottie). What's the best way to dry them now? I think I am going to buy a dehydrator but only if this is the best way to fettle them! The other option is to buy a drying net/rack type thingy...but I haven't really got anywhere to hang it....

(((Virtual hugs))) and cuppas :coffee: to you all, so many sounding ill, fed up or worse. :(

Now that mum has an official diagnosis of dementia, I'm going to look at some websites for more info. I remember most of what my grandma was like, but I want up to date stuff about prognosis, treatments, help for mum and us, etc.

Adult DD is sleeping here one night next week, she has a very early hospital appt and the buses from hers don't start in time, so DH will take her. Given past history, I'm already getting knots in my stomach - she is difficult at the best of times! :( May find I have a meeting or need to visit mum during the evening! :D

The front door is blocked off we always do that in winter but will remain like that forecast more now.

Possession....you know what to do......tackle that cous cous mountain!

Definately something in the air, me and Mr Pooky are communicating only by grunts today after a few words last night. Such is life!

I've altered and hung 3 pairs of curtain thermal linings today, it's a fun packed life eh?
