Do you have a cat you could let have a trot around?
They are so very cute but I get sick of the sight of them with my shrew obsessed kitty. Tis better than when she was wee though as she used to 'catch' worms and bring them in for me as presents...
Poor old George would not know what to do with it. I have told the story here before of finding him, when he was in his prime, sitting with a big fat ratling in his mouth. They were both looking at me as much to say ' Err what do we do now?' Suffice to say wee ratty lived to fight another day. Now he is much older I think the shrew would have the upper hand!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
evening tougies - it really is horrid husband week isnt it? My OH is working all the hours he can, he will promise me and the kids he will be home by a certain time and if I am lucky I get a text to say he wont be there. I am getting screamed at by kids cos he is promising and then not delivering.
On the rice pudding front - I used 6oz pudding rice, 1.5 oz marg, 3oz sugar 1.5tsp cinnamon and two pints of milk - threw it in SC and cooked on high for about 5 hours - it was gorgeous:)
Requests for semolina next week - so off scouting more recipes0 -
What is driving him Kidcat - didn't you have trouble a while back getting him into work? Surely he must realise that he is doing himself no good (let alone leaving you to cope with everything else), and chances are he will end up ill?
Rice Pudding recipe duly noted, I love it but keep forgetting to make it!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Mrs C - he realised the work involved in being home and ran a mile0

Ah.....shrews.
We got a lot when living in the cottage, my big ginger tom used to bring them in to play with. I remember him bringing one in, putting it carefully down on the ground and lying down in front of it with his face resting on the ground just a matter of inches from the shrew. Suddenly the shrew reared up on its hind legs and bit the cat on his nose.
The cat went off playing with shrews after that and turned his attention to moles. Much more fun.

Lol - well I suppose there is no questioning his logic! Seems very unfair that he can take a unilateral decision that leaves you running around like a headless chicken though - one or both of you are going to burn out at this rate!

When we lived in a semi-rural area with corn fields at the back of our cottage our cat used to bring them inside to play with when it was raining...she would run upstairs, bat the poor thing around a bit, bat it back down the stairs, galumph after it, bat it around in the hall, run back up the stairs - over and over again...all at around 1am
She also brought a field mouse in one morning - she dropped it on the floor, it ran into my shoe which I was about to put on, I picked up the shoe, it ran out up my arm and sat on my shoulder where the cat couldn't get it!0 -
Evening all,
Yup, something in the air with the boys of the world (well most!).
My beloved decided he was going to paint the bedroom tonight and as the bed was moved I thought I'd hoover the underneath. In process of moving it about and find white specks on the black carpet. I made sure we had a dust sheet bought specially, I insisted he put it down. Sadly I left him to get on with it while I sorted out other things. Am praying it works out not to be too bad and invisible! He's not getting to do anything in the new house though, that's for sure!0 -
Tempting Fate here but mine is being sweet
Says how much he enjoys the cooking and new recipes and smoothies, how I am not to overdo things and that accompanying him to radiotherapy is harder on me than on him and that he feels fine - where is a confused smilie when you want one?
To be fair he is a sweetie (but a man!) and we tend to misunderstand one another- with four dds he tends to be outnumbered."This site is addictive!"
