  • Morning toughies
back to work for me today, just checked my work emails for the 1st time in a week and my heart was racing, worried about what had happened and what i had to deal with.
DH has gone to the dentist, didnt want him to drive cas he is so tired, but he has to have a filling and i have to work. Sent him off with reminders to inform them he is on steroids ect. But he forgets.
Had family over yesterday helping sort the garden and shed, lots of fun in the wind and rain......
A few tears cos DH showed his sister his lymph nodes on his chest, it was a shook for her,as she hadn't seen how bad it was. But then our black humour had her laughing as we talk3d about adapting one of my bras to make a one sided man bra...
We /I can be , not sure if flipant is the right word, but when it comes to talking about DHs cancer we are upfront, and make jokes about dieing ect, so I apoligies in advance if any of my comments on our situation upset or offend anyone. It is our way of dealing wiyh it.
Hugs and zen suport to those that need it. X CC

I wonder if any of you lovely people can help I put a claim in for dla for my son. I was advised by school and cams to do so. I applied in July and have still not had a decision.

Does any body know how long it's likely to take??

I wonder if the problem is he has no fixed diagnosis they are now saying he clearly has serious neurological problems.

The school are stating if he gets dla they will provide transport to his special unit.

I just called dla and was told they received my form on 19. July and it went to the decision maker on the 28 th. She said they have everything they need so she will send them a email to chase it up. Why would it be with a decision maker for so long? It's really confusing me.
I have dyslexia so I apologize for my spelling and grammar

Jem you can call them and ask where they are up to, I have always been lucky and we have had it done and sorted within two weeks - even DS9 renewal was done in two weeks. BUt I know lots of people who have waited ages for it, it takes longer if they have to write out to people for additional reports and if they dont reply quickly

Its also worth looking into the school transport issue - I was under the impression that any child who requires a specialist provision can have school transport no matter whether they receive DLA or not. I would also recommend contacting your Educational Welfare Dept and explaining you are struggling - they may be able to help as well.

For all of us struggling :)

    "
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]A woman is like a tea bag. She only knows her strength when put in hot water. "

One thing about life is it's ever changing and opportunities come our way as much as upset. I try to see things as opportunities and live by the motto that 'a change is as good as a rest'.

Life keeps me on my toes but that's because I play it. The way to try to get through it is positive thinking. If something isn't going your way think along the lines of 'hmmm, yeah - it's a good thing, others will get something out of it, we as a family will benefit,"

If DH was unemployed he could not at all cope, regardless of what I wanted or needed. He's a worker and needs to be providing. It's about his own self esteem and worth. For him, if you took away his job you take away his being. He's not a nurturer but plays a huge role in our household by him doing what he does, his values, his mental health because he works, his work ethic, his 'I worked so we have this to spend.' It's all good lessons for the kiddies and they don't miss out because he works, honestly.

I'm sorry life isn't going great for some of you but look for the positives. They are there, you just have to find them. We're a bunch of very strong women (and pops :) ) don't let adversity effect your strength.

Morning everyone, had my astmah checkup and all ok, the nurse offered me a free 12 week weight watchers course as im alittle more heavier than I should (ok im 13 stone) so not good. I have to wait another month fro the AD to be at maximum strength. The nurse was nice and said everything will be ok in the end, so I am determined to try and loose a couple of stone.

I booked my flu jab, so all sorted,

Visited mum, and she has passed out sometime in the night and had fallen on the radiator. So I took her to the doctors for a check up. They saw her virtually straight away, and she has a bad bruise and graze but all ok. They have given her some tablets for her acid levels,
    hopefully she will be ok.

DD rang to say she has another abcess on her wisdom tooth, so the dentist is seeing her later on. I hope she is going to be ok and she is going on holiday with my mum (her nan) to a cruise around Norway. Mum last did a cruise just before my dad was diagnosed with cancer.

My friend rang me to thank me for yesterday, I saw her daughter going to school and she said it was nice to visit my house. I found an old roll of wallpaper and some voile over the weekend in the shed. So he plan is to decorate my friends daughters bedroom while she is at school. It will have pale pink walls with a black and cerise pink paper. The voile for the window is black and she already had a pink me to you teddy bear quilt cover (cs £4) bargain. So we intend to decorate her room for free as a surprise. Just have to plan it on my day off as I don't seem to have much free time. My day off is Thursday and I am takeing mum to Southampton to catch her boat.

Time to get ready for work, and prepare tea for DD and hubby. My tea will be a yoghurt and a wrap......

    Take care everyone x
