LYNSEYJANE I'm so sorry you're feeling sad and just want to send you lots of hugs and love and cheering up thoughts to make you feel warm again. Relationships are tricksy beasties at the best of times and the endings are never easy or fully understood. It's ok to feel sad, don't feel that you shouldn't and I can so understand that never giving 100% of your soul to anyone every again feeling, just in case, it's a defense mechanism. This is my second marriage, the first one I still don't understand how or why it all went wrong and it's 40 years ago now and there are still some days when I think why? what if? but very rarely now. I was lucky enough to meet my dearest friend and hubby He Who Knows These Things a few years after that and we've been together ever since and have two wonderful daughters and a better life and a deeper caring relationship that I would have ever thought possible. I guess what I'm trying to say is that things are not always easy to find a reason for but very often what comes after is better in every way and makes your life more contented than you would ever have thought possible. The pain and anguish will fade, and you'll look back on it one day and smile at a lovely interlude in life that is a pleasant memory because what you have in life now is so much better, Bless you, I wish I could make your hurt go, but time will do that, Love Lyn xxx.0

Its also worth looking into the school transport issue - I was under the impression that any child who requires a specialist provision can have school transport no matter whether they receive DLA or not. I would also recommend contacting your Educational Welfare Dept and explaining you are struggling - they may be able to help as well.
It depends on each individual council.
i can't get transport for my children as its personal preference to keep them in current school. I'm trying to fight this by getting transport added on to ds2 educational statement.

Got a sinking feeling....
DD2 went to the Reading Festival with a crowd of friends three weeks ago. And of course they were sharing bottles of beer etc. One of that crowd subsequently came down with glandular fever.
DD2 didn't want supper tonight, feels really unwell, fell asleep on her bed when she got home from school but doesn't think she's getting a cold.
I've been on Google, (of course), and it says the incubation period is 4 to 8 weeks. So keeping EVERYTHING crossed it's too soon to be glandular fever. However she could have got it before Reading - they all go to the same parties and there were a few round about A level results day mid August. Chances are it's a cold, her sister has just got over one, but it would be the worst possible time just at the start of Upper Sixth
I'm like the school nurse when they were in junior school - she always used to say that if they came to her for a plaster she would check them for meningitis (and yes, I've thought of that, too!!)
Someone tell me to stop being such a worry wortIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Yes the weather has turned...:(Just back from Aldi's, two customers if I am included. Thicker coat, scarf and woolly hat on. I'm not so bad indoors(as yet)thermometer says 16c/62f though. I will start to think of the CH when we get to 10c-12c...
I'm in credit with rent/utility company so better placed this year.

Ok after an axious start to the day, feeling almost scared to face work email, and so did not want to go to work, i had more anxioy and feeling of intense sadness, not explaining this very well, sorry, i was basicly crying while driving to work, felt sick and faint.. spoke to my manager ,who tries to be supportive and understsnds that i was concerned that if i gave up work to stay at home, then DHs illness would be my only focus, and did i still feel like that.. she advised me that i was the onlh one who could decide that. Made it through my shift, then came home and talked to DH about the same thing.
He said,at the very least i should phone my GP tomorrow to discuss this with him.
So tomorrow i am phoning and making an appointment... and we can take it from there. I know it wont change the situation, there is nothing they can do to change th3 outcome but maybe they cqn help me find the strengh to carry on.. for as long as i need to.
Ok need to check dinner. Be back later toughies.

maryb, of course you'll worry but at least you are watching for the signs and on top of things. Lets think positive for now...I don't know enough about GF so would not know. Someone else here may...fingers crossed.
Cornishchick, you are doing your best nor failing yourself/OH. All natural feelings/concerns. As you say you've taken the right steps and early with seeing your Dr who will, I hope give the support that is needed.

Sorry for being so vague
OK, Marton Mere is about 1-2 miles inland, but there is a direct bus and there are lovely walks around the nature reserve & lake. If its a Haven site there will be entertainment for you all too.
Will check out what's on over half term & pm you the details.0
