Sheila, hugs from here too, its a difficult time for you, Im sure.

Nuttyp, thats a bit of a bu**er isnt it, you get hauled over the coals but your drunken co- worker gets off scot free, just so wrong on so many levels.

Lovely peaceful day here OH went to present trophys at a cricket final, came home to a waiting bath, ate his tea and is now in bed. I had a lovely hm lunch, pottered and ticked things off lists :j that I had done. Long soak in the bath and am now waiting for Vera to come on tv, quite my favourite programme not only the story but its set in Newcastle and surrounding area which I adore. In one episode she stood in exactly the same place I stood next to the Tyne which thrilled me for some reason - Im living the life arent I :rotfl:

Oh dear Shergar...sounds like it might be time...big hugs ((( )))))

One of my chickens shuffled off to the big perch in the sky today. She looked a bit poorly yesterday, and I got DS to drag my small ark out with a view to giving her a bit of special attention and a bit more food. but alas when we went round to sort it out, she'd already gone. #feeling guilty because there's been a lot going on and they've not had loads of attention. Dunno what it was. There was red mite in the run, I cleaned it yesterday afternoon really thoroughly, she was four?

OH has spent the entire afternoon making pink sugar roses for the cupcakes I'm making for a civil partnership next weekend!!! He was as happy as a pig in doo doo. He expressed a wish to have a go...so I sat him down in front of a tutorial on youtube, and mixed him the paste etc. About time an MA in fine art came in handy ;) Later in the week we need to make some red ones...

Made the guys eat leftovers this evening, there was some decent stuff though, cos' we've given our B&B guy dinner for the last two nights. We had some wine tonight too...a bottle of aldi pink fizz, thought I should probably "reward" OH for his efforts LOL

Thanks for your support messages , very kind, im gonna make her appointment to see the vet , and like one message said , I will see what the vet says and go with that. I cant watch her suffer whatever , im sure right now she is not suffering , she is already on Incurin tabs to stop her weeing when shes a sleep , so we will see how it goes, ive put her cage beside my bed with 2 soft fleecy blankets , cos she likes to get under her blankets, yea she is ruined through and through:D:).................

Just fed the hedgehog, he comes right up to the patio doors , he as had porridge oats and sun flower hearts tonight , so far :)......So im now off to bed ........

She: That's an awful decision to have to make. I'm so sorry. As N2M says, it's wonderful that we can put our furry friends out of their misery. It just doesn't seem so much of a privilege when you actually have to do it.

nutty: I'd be tempted to ask the disciplinary lot if they would rather you turned up to work drunk and nicked off when nursing a hangover, as that seems perfectly acceptable to them.

Pops: No worries. I happen to know of a vicar going spare, house trained and one careful owner. Oh! Wrong denomination. Sorry.

Someone came in to the drop-in this evening to see what we did. She sat in while I managed the food bank and by halfway through she was in tears. She couldn't believe that I knew all their stories and she was staggered at how grateful and humble all the folks were. She went off determined to get all her friends (and she has many) to donate food. Great! She was also amazed at the number of rough, tough chaps and tattooed girls who came for a hug. She even got a few herself. I had to explain that whatever their circumstances and however they got there, they were all lost, little children inside and it was important that just for a moment once a week they felt special and loved.
She left a sadder and wiser woman.

  • Just catching up with the day's posts before I go off to sleep.

Shegar, sending you hugs and thinking of you and Rosie.

Nutty - that is so unfair, you have done nothing wrong. Hopefully when the powers that be hear your side of events, they will be making a swift apology. They blooming well should do anyway!!

Glad the service went well pops.

Too tired to type or read any more so...

night all, hope you all sleep well

  • Morning all,

OH was up and off early today. He'll only have some of his kids in today and then football training, but I think he was anxious to get some things ready for tomorrow. I'm all over the place, must be the stress and all of the things going on right now. I also haven't been to the gym in over a week. Trying to hold out until I get back as I do pay as you go each month and I'm skint for a bit so saving two weeks would help. However, it does help keep me sane.

Got plenty of baking in yesterday--two loaves of bread (better than ever before and of course I have no idea what I did differently:rotfl:) some banana loaf but made into muffins for OH's lunches and a crumble. We were too stuffed to eat the crumble last night so we can have it tonight.

Also managed to do the bedding, polish the shoes and sort out my clothes for packing up.

Fuddle, I'm glad your bagels aren't the prettiest--mine are pretty lumpy, but like you said, taste great. I was beginning to worry it was me.

Nutty that is ridiculous, but perhaps it might be a chance to make clear how much pressure you're under at the moment. Explain how conscientious you are but that constant worry about the disruption caused by your colleague is putting extra pressure on you and causing extenuating circumstances.

Shegar Hugs, I'm sure the vet will have some guidance to offer.

Right, time for me to start my day. Hugs to any and all who need them.x

    Morning all

    Shegar - huge hugs x

Hugs all round it seems at the moment, hope everyone's week gets better.

We had a £700 demand from the tax office on Saturday...so now need to find out why. We have documentation from DHs last employer that they took advice from the tax office on how much tax was to be paid on his pay off. Will dig out the papers and call them later.

DHs scooter that fits in the car kept cutting out yesterday, the motor is burning out, we've already had a new motor under warranty so looks like we need to fork out for a new one. New motor is £380 and a new scooter is £440. Considering his old one needs a couple of new wheels at £25 each it just makes sense to buy a new one, daft though as there's nothing wrong with the body of it.

Off out for a coffee with a friend later, we don't get to see each other much now so it will be nice to catch up. Will try and get the back made up for my new quilt this afternoon, I've run out of wadding so will pick that up tomorrow.

  • She: I’m sorry to hear about your poor fur baby. Its never fair that we have to “consider” the outcomes, Once their apart of your family, You don’t ever want them to leave. I wish you all the best at the vets, You never know, It could be something silly like a cold in the tum? Xx

Nuttyp: Sounds like your employment run on double standards. I don’t know what your suppose to have done, But I should imagine that working whilst under the influence would be more serious? Have they solved that issue?

Mon: I’m wanting to help with a soup kitchen / food bank but I wear my heart on my sleeve and worried that hearing about other peoples misfortunes might tip me at the moment. You’re a star! Offering cuddles too…Bonus. Keep up the good work.

Kez: How are you chicken? X

So it’s the first day back into our usual routines and so far so good! I was dreading OH being back at work but I’m surprisingly okay. I’m in the process of making my “to-do” lists for the day & deciding what’s for tonight’ din dins.

I have a question for you O/S. Are your OH’s the same? Mine clearly has the intent to save money (Used to be really good at it before we got our own home together) But recently all he wants to do is spend money on “things”
Take he’s work wear for example. During his time off I asked him what needed repairing or replacing. He spent over an hour checking everything and only 3 things fell into the above.

This morning, It’s cold & damp and he states to me, I need more work trousers!!
Confused, I pulled him up over it explaining that he assured me that he didn’t need any, They wasn’t on the list. (He was also asked twice when buying some new bits needed)
Now, He’s gone to work in a huff! I don’t mind about the trousers at all. But what’s annoyed me more, is that he was asked to check!!

Anyways, Off for a second cuppa before making a start on my list.

    Hugs to all.
