    Hello everyone :)

ginnyknit Have a look at the chickens in the 2 for £7/ 3 for £10 deal in Mr T's. I got 16 rashers of bacon and a chicken on Friday. The weight on the label is 1.550kg, but mine weighed nearly 2.25kg. For £3.50 I thought that was a good price, but the size of them does vary wildly.

monnagran Thank you so much for that wonderful mental image. I have to admit that I would have hoped for firemen as well. We have a fire crew that parks their engine behind the shop I volunteer in while they are doing their grocery shopping and I have to admit to having a sneaky peek at them occasionally ;)

nuttyp I am glad that you got to have a rest and I hope things have settled down at work xxx

This morning I finished the waistcoat that has been hanging over me for weeks. Unfortunately I have sewn one of the bands on wrong, but it isn't that noticeable. I am never going to be the world's best knitter.
I managed to get DH and DS2 out of the house :T We went to a local museum and saw a V&A Museum of Childhood exhibition. It's called Magic Worlds and I can recommend it if it comes near you and you have small children. Lots of dressing up stuff, tunnels to travel through and fairies sitting watching you :D We also saw The Red Arrows fly over while we were driving there, not something you see every day.
Then we went and had tea and cake in John Lewis. No way would I have paid £16 for three drinks and three pieces of cake, but it was ok for £5. My cake is better than theirs.

Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, cauliflower, stuffing and gravy for dinner....Yum. I might see if there is any space left for sticky toffee pudding and custard. I picked them up cheap rtc in Mr T's.

I'd better go and see how dinner is doing. Take care everyone xxxxxx

    Good evening everyone :)

A day of firsts for me. I tried poached eggs in a pan of water this morning. It's something that has scared me but gave it a go. Roaring success. I've also made my own bagels. They taste yummy but look a bit off. Still a success I say! I've also learned a new crochet stitch. I'm wanting to make a pure wool blanket beginning when DH is paid and quite like the basket weave stitch. Tried it out today and surprising something that looks so difficult is actually quite easy :)

I'm another one who shaves DH's head. Have done for 10 years - guard off all over. He's a baldy so keeps it short because any growth looks fluffy :D

Back from the service...went well and I felt ok...what a difference 14 months makes...

I found out that my church has been advertising for a vicar(nationally)and so far no takers and they've put the vacancy out again in the last week or so.

Its an important parish and the town is quite important in the Co. Durham location.

Filling in time waiting to go to bingo:pNo time to make a meal so may have a late one when I come in but I had a couple of cherry scones a few minutes ago thanks to the Tetley Tea Folk.:D

Sun is still shining and the rain has held off:)but hard to accept by 8.30pm it will be dark.

Hope your all getting through the weekend ok..........Ive got to take rosie to the vet sometime this week, she got the runs terrible but just at night for the past 5 nights , its been really bad, I know it must be painful for her , but its the horrendous smell:eek:......Good job ive got a tiles kitchen floor , tonight im going to put her in the cage next to the bed and if I hear her try to get out to "use" the kitchen floor I will get up and get her outside, ive been getting up in the middle of the night because I can hear her getting off my bed so I know she is going to have runs................

Anyone have any ideas what could be up.? Well at least the weather has been good to us all weekend , warm with it.........Sorry to come on here whinging , but its been one of those weekends ..........Sheila

SDG glad you had a nice day out, your tea sounds yum yum !!!!!

I hope everyone else is having a nice happy time.

I am bless with not returning to work until Thursday, I have been officaially sent a disaplinary meeting notice yesterday. Other collegue who has been drunk at work has had NOTHING done, and mine is a minor mister menor. The offence dates back over 6 weeks ago, can I remember it no!!!! And it was the day after I had sent her home. To say im disgruntled is an understatement. OH is going to take me to the meeting, he thinks I will be in a better state of mind if he drives!!

Sorry I have off loaded to you guys.

Mum is getting better, she has officially been told she has acute angina? She still has to go back for some more tests, but a heart nurse rang her to check she was resting still and to check she understood everything.

Ok, time to go for a long soak in the bath... take care everyone x

  • Shegar just had to post to say how I feel for you with Rosie being so poorly, I always think back to my darling Mum who had to make the same decision, she had just lost her Mum, my Nanna to bowel cancer and said that it was wonderful that we could help our furry family go to sleep but awful that our human family had to suffer so much. I feel the same as her, but only you can make that decision.
Loving thoughts for you and Rosie.

  • Evening everyone.

Shattered this evening. Last night was a long one. OH dad’sbirthday get together went well and only a few minor hick up’s.
Bit of laugher for some (Who can laugh at simple things) abirthday cake in the numbers of 65 was ordered and we waited for ages for it to arrive. Come midday it still hadn’t arrived, when it finally did it was rushedto be put away so OH dad didn’t know. It was only when it came to lighting the candles OH mum & I noticed that the 6 was back to front!

Luckily at this point everyone else other than children & drivers was slightly pie eyed therefore the cake was cut into portions and no one noticed. :rotfl:

I was a lovely cake, but I dare say another will not be ordered from there again. Lol.

OH is back to work as from tomorrow so it’s back to early mornings and late nights again. Will be nice to finally be back to some sort normality.

Today the weather has been chilly, damp, and grey! To many this is their worst nightmare, to me, it’s great. The only downside is we don’thave central heating. So nipping into the bath or shower is like a modern day torture.I’ve also made OH a list of “urgent” items to mend / fix before the bulk of winter weather arrives.

Right, Off for a quick cuppa before tackling my ironing pile.

Hugs to everyone. Have a lovely evening all.

    xxxPxxx

  • SHEILA maybe it's time to take Rosie to the vet? there are medications to help with incontinence, I know there are for people because when my dad was terminal with lung cancer he had the same problem and there was something to help him. At least that way you'll know if she's suffering and if so be able to make an informed decision about her future. I do understand that it is a very difficult thing to do when you love a little being that much, I've been there, I'm sure you'll be able to find the strength to help her, I'm here if you need to talk to someone, hugs to both of you, Love Lyn xxx.
