When we went to Wilco this afternoon I found something I had been looking for for ages - sets of foil pie dishes - both round and dinky little oval ones so very pleased and stocked up on half a dozen sets while I could get them.

Just had home made rolls with sausages and DH had the left over mince with a jacket potato and really enjoyed it.

Will load up the dishwasher and then watch X factor with dd.

Lol pops. It's Sadie the Bra Lady. She's just ooop north I think. 40 years in the business so know her stuff although never actually been to her. Walked past the darlo shop many a time when DH worked there. (First year of being a bankrupt, used to cadge a lift when he went in on a Saturday and do my shopping. Meant I got the works van home at 12noon when he clocked off and didn't have to pay transport. We weren't allowed any money for transport with me being a stay at home mam and DH having work van usage - meaning the insolvency service allow you so much to live on and the rest goes to into payments to the IS. BR isn't an easy way out as some may think. You really have to get a grip with budgeting)

I digress again. Now I can't remember what it is I wanted to ask. Oh yes. MAR and those who know yarn. Possible silly question coming up but does 100% wool mean 100% natural wool fibre? Reason I ask is when I look a lot says 50% wool and 50% alpaca. I know alpaca is good natural wool so I was wondering what the 'wool' was?

    Evening all :)

kezlou you are a brave woman. Well done for not letting those bullies win.

Welcome back katieowl and many congratulations on your new DGD

I am doing ok today, but DH has been told in no uncertain terms that ignoring me tomorrow is not an option and that we are going out and doing something. He has come off the tablets and didn't feel good yesterday, but is doing much better today. So fingers crossed he just had an ear infection.

The meal planning seems to be working. My shopping bills are way down and I am finding it much less stressful knowing what is being cooked that day. I will need to do a top up shop at some point, but my cupboards and freezers are still overflowing. Tonight we are having coddle which tastes much different from the same ingredients as sausage and mash.

The baby cardigan I was knitting has finally been finished. Yeah! Even DS2 has said it is cute :D Next thing is going to be a waistcoat for me I think. That or a jumper if I can find the right pattern. I have the wool already in my stash and am resisting buying more with my birthday money. I could do with spending the money on some sewing machine lessons. I know the basics, but have never made anything from a pattern and am finding it a bit daunting.

Much love and hugs to everyone xxx

fuddle wool means from sheep and anything else like alpaca is listed separately. I would love to get my hands on some wool like that at a decent price.

Glad you were safe from the weather Fuddle, some horrific videos and images on line...Sadie the bra lady...:o:pwhat do I know...I only saw her poster for the first time yesterday even though I know Darlington reasonably well and I still got the name wrong.:DBut I knew of her long before now.

A day for catching up on a little TV for me...after Wallace & Grommit I'm watching Proms in the Park via I player instead of the usual Proms but will probably catch up with the other concerts later...I have a few programmes on the hard drive, I don't watch a lot of TV but may watch more as Winter arrives and my interest has returned as I get more accustomed to Mum passing away...

    Evening!

Welcome back Kate, and congrats on bubs, great name!

Fuddle - wool usually means wool from sheep, unless otherwise stated (like Alpaca).

And as for your sis, you might beat yourself up for being jealous, but she could be a lot more sensitive to your situation and not make things quite so tough for you, so don't feel so bad about yourself, it's natural!

Had rain overnight rather than during the day (good) but had a torrential downpour this evening whilst we were up the camp, boy did it rain! Feels very autumnal still, but I think we might get a bit of warmer weather laste in the month, if the jet stream forecast is reasonably :D . accurate.

    Hi all,

Fuddle: You are a little treasure, you are. What does it matter if you are as green with envy as you say you are. You didn't show it, which means that you have kept your dignity and your pride and those things are priceless. I am awarding you a trumpet fanfare and a quick burst of the Hallelujah Chorus.
I bought a Belvia bra too. The wide under-boob band immediately rolled itself up into an iron tight tourniquet and nearly stopped me breathing.
My own fault. I only bought the LARGE size whereas I obviously should have got the MEGA_LARGE size, or even the ELEPHANTINE size.

KatieO: Lovely to see you back. Ooooh! Baby grand daughters, aren't they delicious? Although my 11 month one is practising for the terrible twos. My sweet, smiley, good tempered little one has discovered temper tantrums! The whole bit - arched back, bloodcurdling screams, heels drumming, while we all sit around making polite conversation and ignoring the drama taking place in the middle of the floor.

Kez: You're winning girl. It's going to be no fun for the bullies if you aren't going to be scared. Well done.

Pop, dearie: You are so good, putting up with our feminine moans and whinges and discussions about things you'd probably prefer to remain in blissful ignorance about. I think we ought to elect you as an honorary woman. If it wouldn't wound your masculine pride, of course.

I've had a great day today. This morning we were invited to a big service in the RC Church to celebrate their 150th anniversary. I'm not a Catholic and am not too sure about how they set about things so I sat right at the back. Therefore I had an excellent view of the procession where the bishop was accompanied by 4 men holding a canopy on poles over him as he walked.
Unfortunately they had to process under an ornate brass chandelier. Unfortunately although the front 2 poles missed the chandelier one of the back ones didn't.
Unfortunately the chandelier was fully equipped with real candles.
Even more unfortunately all the candles were lit.
Sadly, none of the bearers realised that their canopy was now inextricably tangled up with the chandelier and they kept walking, with the chandelier and its full complement of flaming candles following like a well trained dog above them. Finally they reached the end of the chandelier's chain and came to an abrupt stop. There was a short hiatus while the bearers struggled to free the imprisonned canopy and one glorious moment when someone managed to dislodge the pole and one candle, plus holder, hurtled to the ground. I will always cherish the memory of 500 horrified faces waiting for the canopy and/or the bishop to go up in flames. The whole party disappeared behind a pillar at that point, so I didn't see what happened next but as there was no sign of a fire engine I assume that someone had the presence of mind to stamp on the candle.

It was about 20 minutes before the chandelier stopped swinging wildly from side to side.

Best church service I've been to in a long while. Pity there were no fire engines though.

Kez, bet you a million pounds when the witches are apart from each other they B*tch about each other no end. You should be proud of not letting them get in the way of your life. They are to be pitied, imagine the twisted and desolate inner life they must have that they are stuck in a mode where the only way they can feel good about themselves is to bully others. Karma has already dealt it's blow, they will never know your friendship, or by the sounds of it, any real friendship at all. you do and will continue to, and are therefore much more fortunate than them. I know how devastating it is to find out those who you felt were friends aren't, especially with the unbelievable behaviour you have been subject to, but you can leave them behind, whereas they are stuck with themselves.
