jem good luck with the mortgage
fuddle - your doing the right thing! focus on the good and ignore the rest. Anyway you could be moving to a sparkling new life, city! Far better than decorating and refurnishing a new house. I mean decorating moving while new city far more exciting, just think of all the exploring you can do
Primark sell a wide range of bra's of now and at very reasonable prices. also m&s do larger sizes. I have to wear balcony bra's, which ahem make my breasts pop out. If i wear any others my back aches like mad.
Its been mental over here with the rain, took OH 2 hours to get home from 30 minutes away! The roads were flooded everywhere, vans were getting stuck, totally mental.
Took the boys to the friday night group, the witches of eastwick were there i.e D and L when i arrived. Had a nightmare getting DS2 to go he was scared about things happening. So i said no were going and nothing is going to happen i will be there.
They blocked the door when they saw us, but i thought no your not beating me. so i said hello to other people there and carried on chatting to them. I was petrified and shaking inside but i thought no your not stopping my children coming to they social group. so i went past them and took the boys in.
It was good chatting to the others, sharing all the worries and frustrations with starting school. The witches were listening and D especially lowered they heads when i said DS2 was scared to go because of external factors. A friend of mine, poor thing is going through hell with the school and her daughter being badly bullied. so we just sat and talked, her daughter was upset oh i sat and listened and gave her daughter a hug. Hope everything works out for them.
What really annoyed me about the witches is that another one of the trouble causes turned up with her kids. She also ignored me, but whenever she spoke the other rolled her eyes at them and never listened to a word she said. When she left the room they whispered nasty things about her. The poor woman, she is very easily led, and i actually don't have a problem with her. Feel sorry for her, she obviously thinks they friends to.
I was going to say something, but i thought if i did, it would only cause more trouble for me and make the situation worse.
Feel so guilty for not saying anything.
LA phoned me and asked how it all went, she couldn't come because her children were, i told her what happened. She did nothing but praise me saying i did really well turning up on my own and not letting them get them to me.
I'm really pleased with myself showing that i can stand up for myself and not let them control my life.
Well better go check the spuds, were having leftover corn beef stew with mash. Its blumming freezing here brrrr0 -
Thanks for the welcome back...I'm sitting here waiting for the chicken house to dry, they've got blasted red mite in there again I've blow torched it (heheheh) and then slathered it in the cleaner/ insecticide. It makes my flesh crawl, I am heading off for a bath and hair wash immediately I've finished! Shudder!
I've got a B&B person here ATM, last straggler of the season, lone male walker, on foot, who wants evening meals so he doesn't have to walk back into town for din dins. I made him shepherds pie last night, but he insists he'll eat anything, why does that make it harder to pick a meal to cook LOL??? When I'm clean I'll head off to Tesco and see what's on offer! Only thing it has to include is courgettescos' we haz them coming out of our ears.
I think I need to make some more of the Hugh FW Glutney too...as I seem to have depleted all the stocks we had. I did buy a box of tomatoes cheap the other day and make some Red tomato chutney which is my all time fave.
Seems like winter is going to come along real quick now...I saw the big Mr T had started setting up their C word aisle!!!

Princess, I hope everything goes well for you today and that you are not too anxious to enjoy the party.
Hello KatieOwl. I'm fairly new here but am glad to meet you and congratulate you on granddaughter.
Fuddle, what a lovely, thoughtful and kind person you are to be able to put your feelings to one side and help your sister even when you have your own difficulties with the relationship. I wish my sister was like that. Apparently I said something at our mother's funeral that she did not like and I have not heard from her since. It's been over 5 years now! As MrsLW says - be proud of yourself.
Well done kezlou, for standing up to those bullies and putting your family first.:TUse it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Afternoon All,
:)to those having a better day andto those having hard times but showing fortitude and courage to come through what is being thrown in their direction.
Hello KatieOwl, lovely news...always welcome.
I've gone nowhere today and rested and slept well so made the best of it.
I'm going to buy some more(I seem to ruin them)loaf tins but I can get them tomorrow(ready for baking my bread again)possibly buy the quilts and pillows tomorrow in Aldi's)and may invest in their waterproofs later in the week. I'll avoid the mattress toppers.
I usually follow the Last Night Of The Proms but think most of it is heavy going tonight so will probably follow the one in Hyde Park with lighter music and comedy in the programme. I don't mind others enjoying it but I don't follow Strictly or X Factor.
As Kez says its been v bad weather in the area she lives and Fuddle too I suspect as I headed out to the Paul Daniels show it was raining and quite horrible but it is only since looking on here I have seen the flooding affecting Redcar, Middlesborough, Saltburn and Teeside in general and how many have been affected:(
It was a good show with Paul and Debbie and they worked the audience well which again like the last show I attended was down in numbers(not his fault)its been that way for the last 3-4 shows I have attended.
But more people were present this time or it seemed so because we were altogether and in a nice group near the front and I had a lovely view because I had well behaved small people in front of me.:rotfl:I almost met them both in the foyer and was inches away but had to leave because of such a poor bus service.
Kez was saying how cold it is...it is but where I saw a few people last night shivering and saying so I did not feel it that much and all I was wearing was a cheap gilet from Peacocks, an ordinary shirt and trousers. I felt fine. But I know the cold is coming, I will try not to go on about it this year:o
I'll be back in the thermals, gloves and scarves again(even if that's indoors)I need to replace my termal gloves(as I lost one)and though I was still wearing them in Feb/Mar I could not buy replacements so I may buy two pairs this time. I will eat more warm meals/soups which I think will help too.
I did a very small shop in Tesco's when I came home(it still came in at £13)and when I look at what I have you wonder how(spring onions, tomatoes, some rolls, marmite, bananas, strawberries, cauliflower, pease pudding and a sandwich filler)
Then again it will go towards a few meals/snacks..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

:pI kept out of the bras/menopause debate:rotfl:I know of these things and appreciate how they affect many but am not embarresed in any way but it is something I will not experience but men have their own problems. Having said that I have for other reasons had the flushes/soaking wet clothes so in a way I have had the experience. Its not nice..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Pops, I've started using loaf tin liners (from HB), can't remember exactly how much they are but it's cheaper than replacing the tins.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good idea, I think I purchased liners some months ago Jazee but how I have no idea I suspect they've ended up in the loft when I had to clear the house...that is a job I have to return to but now can be done at leisure. Still means climbing a ladder and some danger...that will keep me busy during the Winter months.
I'll put them on my list and if I can get out later today I'll buy some again. A local shop does them cheaper than the usual places like Wilko's etc..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

MAR we haven't had skeins of geese flying here yet, and they come down on the salt marshes and the nature reserve before popping off even more southwards for the winter, I love seeing and hearing them fly down, but as you say they are the heralds of colder days to come so make the most of what nice weather we have left to us, enjoy it while you can. There seems to be a very good domestic and wild harvest to be had of most things this year, the most noticable difference being that we have oodles of acorns on the oaks this autumn, none at all last year. I've started to see squirrels out and about again just lately and jays burying acorns and nuts, last year they were stashing sweet chestnuts, the only thing that had produced any nuts. I've just put yet more runner beans in the freezer, I daresay we'll be grateful for them in the colder weather but I'm getting just a teensy weensy bit bored with them to eat just now, am I alone??? Cheers Lyn xxx.0
