Fuddle did you hear anything about your possible move??

Dh and I have 30 thousands equity in the house so are now looking to get a new mortgage. But the mortgage advisor told us to get a proper bank account as we own only have a building society current account and says we may be refused becose of that. So we opened an account with Halifax and was paid. £100 to do it how fab is that. We are been causes by not putting our house on the market until we know we can get another mortgage. So fingers crossed. We are taking my mum to view the house we love today.

Hopefully she will be able to help us. Xx

    Hi Owl!
I went on HRT when I hit 45 and stayed on it until 60. Because the gp thought ME was bad enough without the change on top of it. I came off because of the health worries around it, but wished for a couple of years I had stayed on it :D just flushes really, and settling a bit now.
Hellish rain last night and we had a drip in the hall. RV says a tile missing so phoned the HA and they will send somebody on monday, they are really good.
I should be doing something but I forgot what it is and so I'll just sit here ..;)

    Morning all,
Looking sunny up here this morning but was thundering down rain all hours of the morning! Not long up and got a load of towels in the WM, would love to get them hung out but forecast had said rain this afternoon so I'm not convinced. Really need to start following the flylady weekly plan as at the moment the flat keeps getting in a mess which isn't helping with getting ready to move!
Planning to get dressed once this tv program finishes in 20 mins then do a quick whizz round to tidy up. Think I'll also set a goal to clear out some of the stuff in the bathroom and tidy up some of the 'snagging' issues so it's ready for the tenants. One room at a time should get us there. Move is planned for four weeks on Monday, time is flying!!!

Hugs and healing thoughts to all those who need them. Hope the sun shines where you are.

  • Morning all.
I really wish I didn't have to wear a bra but these lumps of flabby flesh have to be supported or I look curiously malformed.:rotfl:

It started off grey and damp early on but the sun has peeped it's head out now so will risk a load of washing. Am going away for a few days on Monday to visit youngest son so must use today and tomorrow to get myself organised. Arthur-itis not helping as usual.

I went thru the menopause in my early 40s - was a very difficult time for me and my family as they had to put up with my mood swings and general grumpiness. . Like MrsVeg Plot I suffered from an increase in PMT symptoms with exhaustion, migraines, sore breasts, irritability, forgetfulness and occasional irrational actions. So pleased to be finished with all that now.

Hope you all have a good day.

  • I'm feeling jealous of you early menopause people. I'm 55 and mine hasn't even started yet. I've been having periods since the mid 1960s!!!!!!!!

DH's boss doesn't get back to work till Monday so won't know anything till then at the earliest really.

Welcome back Katieowl congratulations on your new little bundle of joy!

My sister has just called me, she's won her PPI claim of £2000. She thanked me for my help. I got all the gubbings off MSE for her. I'm not to tell mam about it because apparently mam had a go at her for claiming because 'people like her are pushing insurances up'. Nothing to do with me. My sister apoligised for rubbing my face in the windfall (I'm pleased for her!) and thanked me for the help. She also said she got a cheque for £35 for complaining at her bank.

Honestly? Yeah I'm envious of her because she wants me to come help her shop for things for her new house and it will be difficult seeing that but I want to try to not be bitter about it and share in the excitement. Bitterness ruins only the person feeling it so I'll stick to positives and niceties and appreciate things like my DH has my micra at his work as we speak and is able to service my car for £30 cost instead of £100 with labour.

LJ - flylady really does work. I used to look at it and think I can't do all that, so I didn't even try, but have realised now you don't have to do all the tasks everyday, just what you can. 18 months in and the house is pretty much tidy and clean now all the time with very little effort really.

  • FUDDLE you are so lovely, bless your heart, you always try to understand what happens and do the right thing, always try to be happy for the other person, and always put a positive spin on what happens, you are truly a GOOD person my lovely, we could do with lessons in how to, you're such a good role model, like a sunbeam on a grey day, good on you girlie, be as proud of yourself as I am of you!!!

My kitchen smells lovely, I found a pork hock in the freezer yesterday and defrosted it for supper tonight and I've got it in a casserole with some home grown tomatoes and green peppers and onions, some puy lentils, herbs de provence, tomato paste, chicken stock cubes, a splash of white wine and some bay leaves. It's the first time I've wanted to cook something like this since the spring when it was cooler. I've got some beans from the garden prepared to go with it and it will sit on a very low oven temperature until tea time. It's a showery day down here, heavy at times and then brilliant sun and blue sky between them, feels so much cooler today and actually smells of autumn outside, really nice to have a change from hot and dry, Cheers Lyn xxx.

    Hello all -

Belated birthday wishes Fuddle - hope you had a good day.

Welcome back Katie Owl - so glad to hear baby arrived safe and well.

Just caught up as still had most of yesterday to read, had a busy day, had the community OT out to look at the house so had to go and borrow DD back from school half way through the morning so managed to walk to and from school (pushing the big double chair) a total of 4 times yesterday - in the rain! Good job we are pretty close, but even so I was jiggered. OT was good, going to get us a bath seat/lift so DD can get in and out of the bath without us having to lift her and has thinking hat on about the stairs.

First week at school went well, though she was tired by yesterday, DS was tired too as he's not used to such early get ups.

Used some more direct payment hours last night to go out for a curry - it's a great curry there and even better it's BYO drinks so we can have a drink with dinner at supermarket prices not wine list ones which does make it more affordable.

Nothing to contribute to the bob debate as I'm not in those realms but what I do want to know is why, when you go to buy bras, do there always seem to be plenty in the size just above and just below whichever size you are and a dearth of the size that you need?

Right must go and get the kid in the car - DD wants to go and see the donkeys at 'her' farm park and to tell her friends there all about riding (again!)

Take care all - hugs where needed - X
