Morning everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FUDDLE!
A cool day today, lots of rain expected. I really want to go to a supermarket that got flooded recently as have some clothes to return but won't go if the rain gets heavy, not after last time driving through deep water. Yesterday was early 80s in the afternoon and was too hot for me so welcome a cooler day today.
I am off to a friend's (well more of a friend of a friend) for a coffee soon before I get on with things here. I popped into a shop on way home and nearly decided to browse another shop that I have a voucher for and has a sale on. Feeling anxious today so decided to go home and relax for 20 mins and dig the sat nav out as not 100% sure how to get to the friend's house. Good job I did as heard a scared meowing. Stripy cat had managed to get into a cupboard and get shut in. It is the only cupboard with gaps in it so he would had been ok air wise but he was very relieved to be let out, poor old boy!
Feeling really tired and quite down and anxious since the boys went back to school. I feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment, lots of things on my to do list and not getting many done, list just keeps growing and I put a lot of things off during the school holidays so I could take the boys out (which I don't regret one tiny bit!) Boys after school classes start back next week and they are asking if friends can come over. A big meeting to kick start my new volunteering role next week and then my courses start back and DH's college course. The house is a tip as well. I have had lots of invites for cuppas from friends (had to turn some down as some at same time) so have been going to those as I know I will have less time later.
Sorry to go on, just needed to offload. Actually I think the main thing is my anxiety has kicked in big time and I need to manage it better. This will pass and I will be ok. Fuddle I think you are maybe going through something similar?
Sorry I am behind with posting replies to others' posts, finding it hard to concentrate properly.
take care

Thank you for the birthday wishes
I am officially doing nothing today. I'm going to put my feet up, crochet and catch up on TV.
The rain is awful. Seems people have forgotten how to live in rain. It's took me 25 minutes to get out of school traffic backlogs. Parents wanting to park outside of school gates (a few wearing flipflops!) meant that those of us who park away from the school, were early, had our boots on and walked with our big golf umbrella got caught in the melee of parents who did not not and held the traffic up. I got out of the traffic at 9.25am - how many late children today? That of course backed the normal rush hour traffic up and it was chaos. No reason that I could see other than parents wanting the few spaces outside of school so they wouldn't get wet.
I also have a depressed dog. The sight of rain on the window sends him into a grumpy lack lustre man dog.
So I'm relying on the TV to cheer me up. 34 today my friends. I may make myself a cake (sad?no-one else can do it :rotfl:)

Morning all, happy birthday fuddle..
I used to have to make my own birthday cake too, but now DD does it!
Just had my first Skype meeting (except for talking to the kids when I've been away), very odd experience, but worked very well. Last time this group of people met we all had to drive a long way, so a half hour Skype saved much in petrol and time. Perfect fusion of OS and
High-tech
Now that's done, I guess the house work needs doing AGAIN.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Happy Birthday Fuddle  Enjoy your "do nothing day", though i don't think you're very good at doing nothing
Hugs to everyone in need
best wishes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FUDDLE!!
Today is very wet indeed. Its strange because last night was very hot then suddenly a change of weather meant at 2pm I was up shutting the windows. (And taking meds as the pain was unreal)
Its OH dad's birthday buffet tomorrow which should be outside in their garden. Should be fun if the rain doesn't stop. Skidding in mud anyone... lol
Today is a quite one for a change. OH is back to work as from Monday after the dreaded 3 weeks off. However I feel like we've over come a huge stepping stone. I was worried we wouldn't cope but we have all our bills paid before time and rent is covered. We are officially poor, But knowing everything is paid is comfy. OS is our way forward.
Other than looking for some work footwear and new bra's for me, No money needs spending, as we managed to repair most items for further use!! :T
Which brings me to my next question, Where is a good place to buy some t-shirt style bra's? I'm a non popular size which means most places that have decent priced underwear don't stock them??Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
What a wimp...I decided to just go to tonight's show and miss the lunchtime show, they'll be other times. As Fuddle says its not very nice out there:)but I'll usually go out in any weather.
I will find something to do tomorrow. Sunday its got around to another rememberance service at the church..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Have a relaxing birthday Fuddle.
I hope you can find a way to feel less anxious SQ. Don't worry about the 'jobs to do' list at the moment.
Raining here too, and I've just heard something ridiculous. DS started secondary school this week, so I know lots of parents with children the same age. One of them goes to another school, his parents don't have a car and he has been cycling there. This morning, he was sent home from school because he arrived soaking wet. He did have a coat but it wasn't raining when he started out, then suddenly chucked it down. So they've sent him home to dry his clothes out. His parents don't have a tumble dryer. They don't have a car and it's still raining so when he cycles back to school he is going to get wet again. Are they going to send him home every time it rains?! Madness!0 -
There's logic for you...especially as we head for Autumn/Winter...
Aldi's Special Buys Thurs 12th September include that foil for putting behind radiators, a kind of cling film to put on windows and some clothes to keep you dry when its wet(wonder if they'd work for anyone cycling/walking to/from work/school)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

So they've sent a soaking wet boy back out into the rain to cycle home to get changed. What on earth has happened to caring for children? Have school not got access to a lost property box or spare uniform where they could borrow a dry uniform so the young lad can attend and learn while his was drying? Call home and ask for a dry uniform? Ask for a spare to be kept in his tutor room for these types of instances? Staff members springing into action over a crisis and solving it for the good of the child?
Rules - not our problem, send 'im 'ome!
Oh but we live in a society where children aren't even allowed to wear a coat these days as every child needs to have the school logo'd blazer. Individual children have different needs and circumstances and a school used to have a duty of care, looking at every child according to their need. I'm not so sure that is the same any more.0
