    Hi,
Can I also suggest Ann Summers? I know some might scoff but I work for their home shopping leg and have an odd size too (32/4G) and can struggle too. Even their 'posh' bras are reasonably priced (around £26), last well and are well supportive of big busts. They also have an 'everyday' kind of range called Pure Lace which is two for £25 so good value. There's a lace cup style or if you prefer the one labelled as 'plunge' is more a t shirt style with a formed cup. It does have a small amount of padding but is removable. I wear them all the time and much prefer it to cheaper SM ones as they last longer and wash better.

Perhaps the one thing that is nice about this time of year...I know last night just about everyone was dreading the dark nights at the bingo club.

I hope I can still get out a little bit and find something to do...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FUDDLE! :bdaycake: Will this do?

Wasn't sure what date it was but have made a note. You see, I am tucking away these little nuggets of information.

Well! the Isle of Wight County Press came out this morning and blazonned right across the front page was the headline - "Save our Rev, say Ryde church flock."

There was an unflattering photo of the Rev and an excellent article. Needless to say the phone has been red hot, visitors have been popping in and out all day and the shops in the High Street, who up till now have not known what is going on, are getting up a petition to keep her here. I don't know if any of it will make any difference but the response has been amazing.

I did manage to make a loaf in between answering phone and doorbell but have done little else today. The next two weeks are going to be ...um...interesting. We have things on every day and on certain days four or five things leaving us little or no time to get from one to the other. The Rev is in the study trying to write a sermon as we speak.

Glad your son is at home Mar. Everything seems better when you are at home.
Keep the bin bag in mind, it could be the answer to your problems. I don't think the council tip has a 'taker of funerals' policy.

    oops! door bell again.

Well after a very warm sunny morning its now started to rain , thank god for that, water butts are empty, im fed up with watering every night..........

Its still very very warm, may get a bit of rain for another hour or 2 then the weather is going back to be nice again from next week, so that will be lovely again................................It is getting a wee bit darker earlier of a night, its now quite dark by 8 pm.......

So thats why ive came in ,rain stops play , been outside all day today , I love the outdoors, I like to get the housework done then get out, hate being shut in , so im not looking forward to the winter very much , I do usually rug myself up and still get outside even if its feeding and mucking out hens, or chopping wood , etc...........

God knows what for dinner tonight, want something quick , easy , but dont want to cook, we dont have fast food shops about here , not worried about them as we never use them in any case , so im gonna have to find something that wont have me standing over the cooker......Sheila
  • MAR glad your DS is home again, it's sometimes less hard to deal with the pain when you are in your own home and can relax properly, which you just can't do in hospital, too bustly!!!

MONNAGRAN try and find just a few quiet minutes for you and the rev each day, just to be and not to do. When you're in the middle of all the frantic activity, let alone all the stress too you sometimes forget that you need a tiny bit of time out too. I'm sure all those of your flock who are being so supportive and fighting for you both will not grudge you both just a couple of 5 minute quiet breaks, just to catch your breath and you'll surely need that to stay sane and composed. Good luck with it all, we'll all be pleased for you both when it's done and dusted and you have a decision and a known future, stay strong my friend, Hugs Lyn xxx.

    Afternoon Everyone!

    Happy Burpday Fuddle!

    Welcome lil-Mama!

Mar - so glad son is home, what an awful thing. I remember well the shock we all had when Mil had her foot amputated after stepping out in front of a bus...

You are not thinking of leaving us are you, just wondered when you asked about the burial thing?!:rotfl:

Monnagran - I hope whatever happens is right for you and the Rev, in my limited experience of church people there are a few diamonds and a lot of egos - you know which you are!

Mil was a member of a church that split over the sale of the church grounds, and it all got quite nasty. There was a lot of emotional blackmail and threatening all sorts and accusations of stealing the hymn books etc. One woman held a grudge for years and turned up at MiLs funeral and stood up to speak and caused a scene, dispite being asked not to.

Not being a church person, I found it all very peculiar, I can't square that sort of behaviour with holding religious beliefs of tolerance and forgiveness.

We had to take a lady to a care home near Tenby today (there seem to be an awful lot of older ladies here with husbands in care for demetia, it is such a terrible thing for everyone to deal with) so went to a nearby town (Narberth) know for being a foodie centre. Lots of up-market shops (think Yarm for those in NE) with lots of things that don't actually have a function apart from looking pretty. I look wistfully and move on!

I did get an Easiyo set from the CS for £3 - with two mixing jars, two little lunch pots and two sachets. I will use them up, but will make my own after that.

I hate bra's, I never seem to be comfortable in them (being a big lass:rotfl:) I can't wear underwired without constantly fiddling , and others make me look like I have a couple of fat ferrets strapped to my chest. Can't really go without as it really is not a good look. Best I have found is the largest size of those all-in-one type bras you pull on. I bought a pack of three dead cheap off of fleabay, they were not big enough but as the 5/2 is working well (if slow) they fit a lot better now.

OH got a letter saying he might be entitled to money due to mis-sold card protection - hope he is as he needs £500 to fix the bumper and back light he broke reversing into a wall:mad:.

SQ - tell your family, calmly and quietly, that you are not in a position to help financially, and that them asking is making you unwell. If they don't like it that is their problem, you should not feel guilty.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

POOKY can I ask what pattern you are doing for your quilt squares? I recently dug out some small log cabin patchwork throws I made YEARS ago, mostly jumble sale fabric, and we're using them as on the sofa. Really soft and comfy and easy to wash when the cat/dog manages to get then grubby. Where do you source your fabric, if you don't mind me asking? Rarely see a jumble sale these days :(

I just make up designs as I go, no particular name.

As for fabric, I mainly buy bedding in CS's or bootfairs, some via eb@y etc. when you can pick up a double duvet cover for £2 there's a great deal of fabric in a duvet cover....normally they contrast back and front to so it helps.

Various eBay sellers have packs of mixed fabric Pre cut squares that work out fairly good price wise too.

  • Welcome Lil-mama, good to have you among us.

Pops, its good common sense to cut thelunchtime concert if it will enable you to go out tonight more easily. Enjoy.:)

Yes, the medication I needed most was mymain arthritis one and without it I find moving at all very painful. Thepharmacy know this and on the whole are very helpful if somewhat disorganised. The problem this morning was with a new member of staff. I think (because I ama cynic) that in order to keep costs down they are starting to employ the lesswell qualified staff, who usually serve in the general store part of the shop,in the pharmacy section. As a result the service is reduced and the complaintsare increasing. :mad:However, I mustn’t whinge too much as my meds did arrive aboutlunch time.

When Ilooked into buying a new mattress two years ago I was warned that thememory-foam would be very warm and should not be bought unless I needed extraheat in bed. As it’s the opposite with me I didn’t get one.

Princess, I too am a difficult size and havefound that good old M&S do have an ‘extra sizes’ range which go up to an F.There’s are the only underwired bras I can wear but they also have non wiredand t-shirt bras as well in the range.:j

So pleasedto hear your son has managed to get home Mardatha.:T

Among allthe busyness of the next two weeks MonnagranI too hope you and the Rev manage a few times of rest and peace.

OOOOH, Mrs Chip, I hope the money does comethrough for your OH.

I too amlooking forwards to soups, stews and casseroles as autumn shows us its colours. It’s the rain bit I’m not too keen on. :(
