Hello ARTDECOGIRLY welcome to the thread lovely to have you with us, I'm 65 love this thread, love my lurcher (besotted really!) and married to He Who Knows These Things. We live in Hampshire have a big garden and an allotment which take most of our time. We have 2 grown up daughters and I've just been told that I'm going to be a grandma for the first time early next year , quite the most exciting happening in our lives for decades, can't wait!
SMILEY we've missed something important, YOU!!! Docky sends greetings to Bruno and Tess and big SSSLLUUUURRPPSSSSSEESSSS to all of you too. Lovely to hear from you again and sorry for your current employment issues, hope it all sorts out quickly.
Had an afternoon in DDs garden yesterday and a big tidy up, filled her green wheely bin with trimmings from bushes and conifers which were trimmed a couple of weeks ago and had a general tidy up of the veg beds and borders, watered everything and the greenhouse and picked the first ripe outside tomatoes and some from the greenhouse too. Pushkin cat is missing his Mumi and not eating so well but he'll be OK until she's back on Monday and well be happy again then. Did the ironing and that is now all up to date too.
Hope Mr Nutty is feeling better this morning, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -

Lyn, Congratulations how lovely something to look forward to in the new year you must be chuffed.
:T
I am off to the hospital today 2 appointments on 11am and one at 1.30pm.
So we are going to take a packed lunch and flask with a piece of cake and sit some where between appointments and have lunch.
The last time we were there and the appointments ran over it cost us £4 for just two cups of tea. so we will always be prepared from now.
Couldnt believe the price of sandwiches.
Okay I am 57 with alot of heath problems some days are good some not so good. Moved in to a lovely small bungalow with the OH whos retired and we are taking our time and doing things slowly to make it comfortable. Starting with the garden first.

Such an exciting year year for you Lyn. Your family life is taking you on a wonderful journey and I'm pleased we can share in it
Lyn? How far is Hampshire from Dorset?
Welcome ArtDecoGirly.Looking forward to getting to know you.
Smileyt!!! Aw welcome back! So sorry to read of the upset of the job and having to appeal. Aggression to management sounds like a very effective way of ridding themselves of an employee to me... only the management team need to be witness to it huh? Pleased you're fighting itLovely to read that the doglets are ok. Alfie is champion too
I was up at 5am so took said doglet out. Managed to pick only a handful of blackberries but they're steeping and will be frozen so I can add to them. Decided not to make jams this year (29p ones sufficient for us) but to put them to (what I feel for us) better use in puddings.
Update on the possible move. DH has spoken to the area manager down there (she used to be DH's boss so knows him well) who was thrilled to learn we were visiting Dorset and told him to let her know what we decide!!! when we get back. It's looking goodSo much to think about though as housing is more expensive. We'll be looking at a 2 bed apartment for a bit more than a 3 bed house here but it's doable. I will be looking for work when we move (and if we stay here. We really need the money) The childminding will have to be knocked on the head. I can't successfully mind in an apartment and with Alfie pup. I'm learning as much I can about Social Care, completing modules on NHS Caring with Confidence - just so I can demonstrate I have an interest and some knowledge in being a carer. (I think, for me and where I am, that given I need employment, that my experience in childcare is obviously outdated, that I can not cope in private nurseries and that I have no other experience or quals, that gaining work as a carer is the best possible scenario for me and I actually think I would revel in helping people/making a difference to daily life) I have applied to do a Level 2 distance learning course in health care.
The camping trip is bookedI'm going on my holidays! 4 nights but it's not on the Dorset coast. The cost was too much. Further north was a lot cheaper and we've found a lovely family site in the country. Reviews are good. 8 miles away from where we might be living.
So all in all a lot to be very hopeful and excited for but I have to admit that this week has been incredibly difficult for my mind and mood. I haven't wanted to leave the house so hopefully my early morning dog walk is the step to leaving this little demon episode behind. It's not like me to crumble the way I have done and I'm determined to shake it.0 -
Morning all.
Lovely to "see" you, Smileyt, missed your hilarious misadventures in the park. Sorry to hear that the job went pear-shaped and good luck with the hearing.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning everyone.
Setting off for hospital soon with DH to see if he is up to facial op on Tuesday. As it is a general and he is still coughing I don't think so but have kept quiet for once.
Need to get mince and bacon and salad for tonight's meal and do another tidy round when we get back ready for weekend visitors around teatime. Hoping to have time to do mini quiches etc as well.
Bio
A little bit younger than MrsL (but not in spirit) , married with four dds, youngest at uni. older one working in Oxford, middle one in graduate job and planning further study while working and oldest was very ill a year ago and trying to get her back to her proper self. Three dds at home (apart from uni) and nagged er convinced DH to take early retirement three years ago and sell our house, borrow another and pounce on our now house with a big garden and potting shed.
Love to read, everything from crime, history, comedy, sci fi . fantasy and prep type or economy/ supply info. Will do housework and quite enjoy having things look nice when people come but not devoted to it at all. Quentin Crisp had a point about dust, clutter etc. Enjoying cooking now I have a big kitchen that is not overlooked and space do stuff.
Need to dash!!!

FUDDLE Dorset is the next county to the west of Hampshire so you're probably 50ish miles away from us, we'll be able to meet somewhere in the middle, maybe in the New Forest but you won't want to try in tourist season, the roads are so congested you spend a lot of time waiting in traffic!!!
MAR you can indeed just pop the chopped courgettes into the remoska with the chicken where they will soak up all those lovely chicken juices and become delectable and delicious!!!
DENISE thank you so much, hope the hospital goes well today, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Great news Mrs LW, very happy for you.0
