Does he know if it was a wasp or a bee? Bee stings and wasp stings need treating differently - wasp stings are alkaline and bee stings are acidic. Normally I would use vinegar or lemon juice to treat a wasp sting and toothpaste to treat a bee sting (bees sting a lot more rarely though), but it being in a sensitive area means in his case I'd definitely see a doctor!0

nutty i would make him a doctors appointment straight away. Its a very sensitive area to be stung.
We went to the dentist, told him all about the appointment and needing a retainer all of his life. The dentist was extremely shocked and appalled and said straight away i'm referring him to the in house one.
Apparently the only reason why he referred privately was that the other practice had more experience with children.
So just waiting now to see what happens.
We were about to leave and collared ds2 and said can i do your check up now if thats okay. I said oh we don't have an appointment, said its fine, shouldn't take long. Came out with flying colours no probs for both boys. So there sorted till february 2014.0 -
Great News Kezlou!!
Just trimmed our first cuttings of mint, Will be using this up later, But suddenly with these strange weather changes, Our sweetpea (climbing plant) was grown out of control. Does anyone have any great uses for these? Doesn't just have to be food wise??Future goals:

NUTTP...Thats not a good place for a sting. And for the poor man to be intears it must be painful.........
FUDDLE ...Nice chair. I do like shabby chic stuff, just a cheap tin of paint can do wonders for all furniture, absolutely revives them........
Ive been busy today, some one offered me some firewood, its already cut into 5 foot lenghts , so I hitched up my trailer and had 2 loads , only 6 minuets from home, so I spent the morning getting that in the garden,, to be honest I think I did push myself a bit too much doing that , but its home and under cover now, so it all helps for the winter..........
I come home had a shower and ive perked up a fair bit now, after 3 mugs of tea..........Ive got my shed with about 11 hundred weight of coal and enough wood to last me til next March, thats if I just light the fire for about 4 to 5 hours per day, which is ok as we have GCH, but the fire is nice to look at of a evening and the GCH goes off.........
One day of hard work is worth it.......As wood cost a fortune to buy in......
Its been beautiful here again , cant say I feel autumn in the air yet , evening or daytime.........Enjoying the lovely days.........
Hope the school holidays are going well with the children and they are not too bored......
NAN 2 MANY.......Glad the sea kelp is helping you as well.......Hope others are starting to notice the difference now , usually takes a few weeks to get in the system........
My dog was barking madly last night and wouldnt stop, so I knew something was a bout , when I got my torch I had a nice baby hedgehog paying us a visit, nice to see them about as you dont see them too often like we did when I was younger, there use to be loads about, espeically dead on the road........................
OK, time to get some tea ready , catch you all later...Sheila...0 -
Princess do you mean ways to use up the sweetpeas? Wikipedia says sweetpeas are toxic to eat *confused*
If you mean the mint, it's nice with peas, new potatoes, homemade mint tea and mint sauce, or you could always freeze it.0 -
Back from the Docs. I did not faint, although I had to have a bit of a lie down and send OH out for a fizzy drink. Took me awhile to get steady on my feet but it is done.
NuttyP, good idea getting him checked out. Better safe than sorry. In future, if anyone is wondering, bicarb mixed into a paste with water is very good for bee stings if you aren't allergic (to bees--if so, I think you'll need far more help!). It helps with the swelling. But, obviously for sensitive areas or people who think they're allergic always get it checked.
Princess, I'm fairly certain you can't eat sweetpeas. I do love them, they smell really lovely. Perhaps cut some flowers? I've never heard of them going crazy, a bit jealous actually as my mum always had to coax hers along in the hot climates where we lived.
Kez, fantastic news, so glad the dentist listened to you.
Right, I'm going to have a bath and then we'll have our tea from the slow cooker and head out for this gig. A friend saw them perform in another city and has said they're quite good. I'm a bit tired, but could do with the distraction and it is a very very cheap night out which is nice as we've tried not to spend much this summer.
Hugs to any who need them.x0 -
Well done FPK, pleased for you that it wasn't the ordeal you had dreaded and glad for you that it's over. Enjoy your evening out, you've earned it!!!
KEZ really pleased you saw the dentist again and have made sense of all the upset, really pleased for the boys that it's in hand and not the problem that it appeared to be, well done.
NUTTY really hope that poor MR NUTTY is feeling better now and that he's a bit more comfortable, ouch!!!
.
FUDDLE hope the chair is lovely when it's finished and comfortable for your time on the computer, well done so far.
Look after yourselves, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Hi everyone were back from a&e. Receptionist smiled as I said what was wrong, and a female doctor had a look. It is not looking very good, but he has anti histimain tablets, and then squeezed the sting out. He is sat with a half bag of value frozen peas in him after having a cool bath. Bless he looks really sorrowful.
We are having the leftover lasagne from last night along with garlic bread slices and salad. An easy tea today.BSC member 137
