Fuddle your right, we don't ever want to relive that part of our lives. Knowing that every month when we got paid 3/4 of that would be for minimum repayments and the ever threat of bailiffs and debt collectors was the worse time of my life apart from having the house repossessed with a 4 yr old and an 18 month old baby. I met our local MP in our village a few days ago. He asked how I was as he always does, and asked if we got the driveway sorted for our council house. I thanked him for his help, and he asked if it was ours yet. I replied 'no' and explained I was eternally grateful that the council housed us when we were homeless. I love my home, I know its not my own but it very close to being iygwim. It was nice he remembered me, and even more that he has time to speak to people as he goes about his personal business.

I hope your chair is coming along well, post a picture when its done, please.

Were having a lazy day, just decided that we haven't got anything planned. The relief on the kids faces was immense when i asked what they wanted to do today and replied can we just play on games.
I said fine, whatever you want :)

Some days they have too much stimulation and need time to themselves where they can just relax and be calm. Saying that i need time like that too. What can i say they just like me :p

Were off to the dentist today for the second opinion, we will probably leave for about half two to get there for 2:50pm.
Told a few a people about it yesterday at the cycle day and all of said that's not right. Children should receive it for free and were appalled at the lack of time inspecting his teeth.
Well we'll just see what happens.

I suppose it didn't help that ds2 was very interested in the lack of instruments the dentist had. Saying how come you don't have this machine? When the exam finished are you a real dentist because you have don't have my big brothers dental records. I swear he can be so embarrassing at times.

    nutty £6
Fuddle your chair sounds fab :)
    kidcat enjoy thomas!

I'm dodging phonecalls off cc and banks today, i've had enough of them. they doing my head in, i'm trying everything finance wise. But they keep phoning and asking for the same information 10 times in a day. This morning i got so sick and said look on your records and you will see i have already had a meeting about this. When you found out where my money as gone i will gladly pay you again and make all payments up to date. Until that time i am not paying another penny.
sorry everyone, i have every intention of paying my debts off , i'm just sick of them at the moment. :(

kez. Banks and CC companies have to ensure that they are speaking to you. When they ask you to confirm your personal details say "I'm sorry, you could be anyone. My personal details are for my security when I make a call. As I haven't made the call I'm not prepared to give any of my personal information over the phone. Goodbye".

    Might just help.

I'm just so sick, been doing really well, keeping on track. Making myself go out, but now i'm dropping down again.
But i must shake myself up , i refuse to let them drag me down again.
  • KEZ you are a sensible lass, enjoy your day off both from activities and phone calls to the full and good luck at the dentists this afternoon.

Last night was the first one alone with the kitten and my good ness he was naughty, kept jumping on my arm and biting hard and kicking hard with all four paws, had to use the naughty cat voice many times so he went off and sulked until 4.30 when he slid into the bedroom, said meep and climbed up on to me and purred and purred and purred!!! He slid off once in a while and laid on his back purring like mad before climbing on again. It's been a long day already as we were up just after 5 am. Tonight I'm shutting the door and hoping he'll be more settled. He was determined to share my breakfast porridge this morning so I saved him a spoonful thinking he would just sniff it and walk away, turns out kittens do eat porridge after all, and lick the bowl clean too!!!

FPK will be thinking of you this afternoon, bless you, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Still an awful lot of sanding on the seat pad and top section to do, then a wax. All the prongs need a light sand and a repaint. It will be my computer chair complete with cushion.
  • Looking good FUDDLE, well done pet, Lyn xxx.
  • Just minding a friends cat for a few days and she has just been dropped off. I thought she was being very naughty as she very cheekily jumped on the table right in front of me. I know absolutely she isn't allowed to do that at home so I told her off and she skulked upstairs. She saw me come up and not two minutes later I hear OH telling her off. He solved the mystery though--the owners left her a little cheesecloth parcel of homegrown catnip which was on the table. Poor thing couldn't resist. It has been stashed into the cupboard.

Mrs LW, I hear kittens like a little sliver of cheddar now and then too;) We've put down a fleece blanket on top of a rug that is covering some carpet and she seems to curl up there. Then i don't feel so bad shutting the bedroom door at night. Waking up with a toy mouse in your face to "play" leaves us humans a little tired the next day! Thanks for the nice thoughts. I've kept my work simple today and just going easy on myself.

Kezlou, I see nothing wrong with choosing not to answer your phone at times. It is only recently people have been "reachable" at most hours of the day--and even now anyone who works a job where phones aren't permitted can't answer during business hours. It doesn't matter if you're unavailable because of work or unavailable because you need some peace, it is fine to just be "unavailable" sometimes!

Fuddle, that chair is looking lovely! I don't envy you all of that sanding, but it will look very nice in the long run!
  • Good day everyone. I'm having a very lazy day today as I think I overdid it on Tuesday with walking around York and yesterday visiting friends had not seen in a while - They all live in this area but not close to each other so was another lot of walking.. The legs and back were definitely not happy last night or this morning. Hope having quiet day will settle them down as I hate having to take too many painkillers.

Fuddle - looking forward to seeing finished chair. I always envy anyone who can be so creative with old furniture etc.

Kezlou - I used to work in a call centre for a bank and the problem is that the calls are automatically generated so the agent is unable to stop them. Fuddle has the right idea. Say you are not happy to respond and will call them when you can. Quite right to not answer later calls - let them go to answer machine. As you have already explained the situation to them you could say they are now harassing you and you will take them to ombudsman if they don't stop.

Well I must go and hang washing out. Its about all I have the energy to do.
Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.
