Hi everyone were back from a&e. Receptionist smiled as I said what was wrong, and a female doctor had a look. It is not looking very good, but he has anti histimain tablets, and then squeezed the sting out. He is sat with a half bag of value frozen peas in him after having a cool bath. Bless he looks really sorrowful.

We are having the leftover lasagne from last night along with garlic bread slices and salad. An easy tea today.
:( Oooohhh, poor Mr Nuttyp. Hope he's soon more comfortable.

I got stung by a bee at the weekend. Went up my trouser leg and stung me in on the back of the leg, just above the knee. Wincing at the thought of how much pain your OH must be in.

  • Hi all, been lurking for a few years now but finally decided to actually join in!

Live "Up North" with daughter (23) and son (14 yesterday!), grew up in the seventies (born beginning of March 1970) and came from a family of 7 (parents plus four brothers) so grew up in a very frugal house.

Try to make as much of my own food as possible, though it's not always easy! And don't mention a certain kitchenware shop that shares it's name with a place in the Lakes... I could live in that shop!

Boyfriend finding money a struggle at the minute...so much so he might have to give up his flat and move back in with his Mam for a few months, until he gets back on the right track again!

My love of the old way of living brought me here, love life from the 20s, 30s and 40s...love all the Land Girls and Home Front stuff, make do and mend and real homemade food (been busy in my own kitchen all afternoon, made a lemon drizzle traybake and a big cottage pie, will freeze what's left)

    Welcome ArtDecoGirly :)

    nutty- ouch!!!

MrsC - am glad you survived the visit, hopefully next time they will heed your request and let you know when they plan to visit.

Mardatha - if you are doing soaps again, give me a nudge when you are ready please.

I am exhausted, visiting Thomas was very busy and hard work, DS9 was so excited and all over the place, the surprising part was DS15 was just as excited and clearly loved every minute of it too :)

:) Potted biog; me - single late forties, local govt worker, has allotment and hoards tinned tomatoes under the bed. Quite probably slightly insane but basically kind and decent. Unless you're a slug or a snail, whereupon I morph into a psychotic killer, mwah ha ha! :)

And I thought I was the only one that hoarded under the bed! I have about 25 bars of Wright's Coal Tar soap...I'm terrified they're going to stop selling bar soaps now it's all liquid :o

:) You're never alone in your eccentricities on MSE Old Style!

I hoard my soap in the airing cupboard. I realised last year that the 6bars for £1/99p Knights Casteeel were disappearing from the cheap stores and being replaced with 5 bar pack.

I whizzed around and bought loads. Even better deal than I thought as it later went down from 100g to 90g per bar, meaning what had been 600g of soap for your £ was now 450g.

    The rotters.

Off to bed, subject to the large gang of yoofs racketing around outside shutting the heck up at some point in the next hour or two.

    Wish me luck............:rotfl:

Hello. I haven't been on the forum since the end of January but felt a sudden urge to pop by and see how you all are. Have I missed anything important?

I am unemployed again. I got sacked from my job (the one I started in January) for "being aggressive to management". Needless to say, those allegations are totally untrue so I had an appeal hearing yesterday and am waiting for the result.

I still have my old poochies, now aged 14-and-a-bit and 15-and-a-half, still looking after young people and am trying to start my own business selling hand-made cards.

I probably won't be able to join in a lot because I'm so busy, but will pop by to keep up-to-date with your insane antics! I hope you're all OK and your heads are all above water. Lots of love to you all!
