Fpk that will be a weight off your mind. Really good news :)

DH could do us a head board no problem but I fancy a go myself ;) I like the drill as a screwdriver ;)

HESTER if you're reading - it's leek and potato soup night tonight. Crusty bread too but no HM. I'm using a part-baked baguette. I have a few in the freezer as they are super fall back for soups, sandwiches, mini kids pizzas and garlic bread. A versatile bread that isn't as expensive as ciabatta :)

Thanks both! I've worked so much faster this afternoon just knowing it is all worth it!

Fuddle, I know the feeling of wanting to do it yourself. I'm also a bit of a menace with the drill.

I have a dilemma...ds12 has sorted out his wardrobe and got rid of everything that doesn't fit. there is loads! some of it is next, gap, boden and still in good condition. OH says it is not worth putting on the bay of E as it is time consuming and postage is such a pain. I am going to take the bulk of it to a cash place but can't decide what to do with these few bits. I will get next to nothing for them at the cash place. oh what to do...

Daft as it seem's try the magpie music site, I'v seen an ad with clothing and phone/i-pad included in the 'what we take' bit.hth

Although I don't post very often I do read every day, I'm an addict. I love to hear about everybody's lives.

I am sure you will love Dorset, we are about 5 miles from the Dorset border so spend loads of time on the Dorset coast, it truly is a wonderful county.

Spent nearly an hour cutting up 1 cabbage from my plot, removing the wildlife (sent these on a journey to the seaside) steamed and froze 9 big double portions. Just need the runner beans to follow their example now.
So much more to say but duty calls, people need feeding.

    ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

    peace at last!
Just sat having a cuppa before making dinner.

Had a wonderful day out with the lads, took them the cycling day. It was very busy but i managed to persuade ds2 to go on a tandem with ds2 and with his friend. So chuffed as he can't stand noise. Stayed till about four then had a wander to stewarts park before coming back home.

the lads are now playing cricket and OH has gone out for a run straight from work.

    hello nan2many!

Pops we saw them at stockton before, they really good. Love the 50's music :)
Fuddle probably won't know the shop, but i do. It is reasonably priced, but a pricier than the ones i normally go to which are further in.
Good thing about that is that the veg is fresher.

They is a mass of variety across the road from they to so you have a look in a few different ones. They is even a polish grocers to and closer to town a chinese supermarket :)

The process of halal meat has completely changed and animals are stunned before the butchering and prayers are said while it is happening. The animal is unconscious before the cutting begins and in a lots of ways is more humane than the ordinary process.

Which normally the animal is extremely stressed and causes some of the butchers don't even have a clue of how treat an animal properly.

I actually know this because i know a few butchers from both sides of the coin. To be fairly honest the halal butchers were better trained and cared more about animal welfare.

Thank you for so much information Kezlou. I was afraid and careful not to offend anyone, tbh I rarely take anything I hear on the news/in the media at face value and research or like to hear direct from people like yourself.

Interesting also about the extra details you have given me about shops in the area that I did not see/know of I was only looking out of one side of the bus...I can even enjoy window shopping around such places...

I was also interested in what you mentioned of the couple in the images I posted. I guess they must be "Street" performers? Many remain nameless.

boultdj thanks for the idea of music magpie. I have had a quick look but will look more in detail later. I have decided to leave the clothes till I come back from my holidays.

kezlou glad you had a good time today

pops we went to Saltburn on Sunday but got there quite late so missed most of the food festival. we had a nice walk round Saltburn although couldn't face the walk down to the beach:D the tide was almost in though so there wasn't much beach left.

I had a phone call from the GP surgery today. they said my blood test was satisfactory but needs repeating in 3 months time. this one was for diabetes so I am relieved.

Good news on the blood test Bunbun2 sorry that you missed the event. It was heaving right from the start, one of the busiest I have been to, could even be the busiest.

I am sure that they will do another. It may be laid out differently next time, if its as successful, more supplies may be brought in.

I have inside information;)but keep a lot of what I know confidential.

I had to get up and leave early at "silly" O'clock and use all my skills otherwise I would not have made it there much before 1pm. I managed to get there for 11am.

Glad you still enjoyed the visit...

Can you believe I have just discovered where the DLI museum is in Durham virtually under my nose and that I have been missing free concerts on Sunday afternoons...may go along this week.

Evening toughies, its been an odd day today, I got up much earlier than I have been lately yet feel I have achieved alot less - very odd :)

Today OH took DD7 to the park to finally teach her to ride her bike, we have held back as we didnt want DS9 getting upset that she had learnt before him, but its so unfair on her to see her friends all ride about we couldnt wait any longer, after an hour she was riding fine and really pleased with herself.

Then this evening OH shouts from kitchen, we all come running and whilst we have been sorting washing etc DS9 has got his bike out, brought it indoors and started riding it all by himself, seems DD7 over taking him has spurred him into action :)

I woke with a migraine this morning that has persisited, I know its because I stayed up very late doing my IPSEA training modules - all the talk lately of people studying has obviously kicked me into gear and I managed to complete several of the modules completed last night :)
