Possession my sister voted conservative at the general election because she believes she is upper class so probably already thinks she's married a prince, an office manager prince but still... details.
Thank you Lyn. No, not completely lost eh? I'm putting it down to her sessions with the therapist that work organised. You can't ever correct a lifetime (my lifetime) of behaviour that has a negative effect on you but you accept and hope for still nice pleasant memories in the future. I hope we can build on this.0 -
fuddle - if my hairdresser had turned up after any of my childrens births I would have stabbed him with his scissors - dont get me wrong I think he is lovely but he is not the person I want to see at that time.0

I made some banana and choc chip muffins too. I have already eaten two - oops better save some for OH and the boys!
I have been cleaning all afternoon so I think I deserve them! My aim is to clean a room a day during the holidays. I have done the utility room so far - the smallest room:rotfl:
sorry to hear about all the family problems. my MIL has taken her step children out of her will which they don't know about - and she won't be there to deal with the fall out. for various reasons her step children were the ones who were there the most when their dad died. we dont see them much but OH and his sister still get on well with them so they don't think it;s right (well OH doesn't don't know about his sister!)saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Good girl, you can't take away the past but you can build a new future and it won't wipe away the pain but might give you a richer, warmer and more satisfying relationship with your Mum? Good memories that make you smile are so much better than tears and sadness, you grow with maturity and confidence with every new day girlie, you know that? Proud of you yet again, Love Lyn xxx.0

Good point Kidcat. After my 1st c-section I hadn't slept more than 6 hrs in a week, as I'd been admitted and the ward was so noisy. If anyone had come near me with scissors there would not have been a good ending.
Still, Kate has to face the world now, rather than stay indoors in her pjs attempting to breastfeed, so I'd imagine someone to help her look her best is pretty welcome!0 -
Ive just seen the photos again of when I had had my first child. They are not a pretty sight!!! I was 19 and it was like my life was ending, that and the fact it was a very difficult birth. I had to stay in for a week afterwards. When I left hospital I was in a tracksuit - not at all glamorous but very comfy. I remember being shocked that my tummy was just like a deflated balloon - yuck!! Still is some 22 years later lol....
DD has just led me totally astray, she rang to say there was a nice maxidress on boohoo that I would like. She was ordering herself a dress and had ordered it for me to try. So that's me being naughty. I did try one on yesterday - was nice but not nice enough to part with £40.
Fuddle I hope your resting still - having a sore throat is the perfect excuse for ice cream.BSC member 137

I just don't see why they can't put their petty squabbles to one side for a few days. I will go to the funeral of course but not sure about afterwards as that is probably where the infighting will start. Stupidly its all abut things - who will get what - or who has the most right to it - and who will pay for what. Just ridiculous.
Fuddle I'm pleased to hear that you're feeling bit better and that you've had the chance to see a good side of your mum.:)
I've just stirred myself to get the bread maker on and a load of washing hung out. Now got to chop some veg for the SC tonight.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Wishing AOT well for a sad/reflective day on Friday...
Also continued getting well to Fuddle and hopefully all will be well for DD...
Margaret we should all break into the Archers theme:DI've added two short video's of the deer to my blog(but hosted on You Tube)
With a bus pass or not its getting more difficult using public transport this coming weekend, the bus that took me there and continues to Barnard Castle will not run hourly on Sundays but every two hours...and as my own town buses start later I cannot connect to the first and as the last return bus is approx 5pm even if use it, you'll be virtually having to come home as soon as you arrive.
No doubt many similar stories across the UK. I wouldn't mind if they ran more buses in the Summer and less in the Winter.
I'm really getting through the bread I purchased on Sunday, must make some of my own...and those banana muffins..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I don't know what has come over me today - I have been very domesticated! I have made muffins, cleaned the utility room and put a bolognese in the slow cooker ( I don't cook normally)
pops I recommend the banana muffins!
AOT hoping all goes well on Friday
I have some pretty horrific photos of me after my first c section. I felt so bad I didn't have a shower the whole time I was in hospital:eek: ds14 was 6 weeks before I left the housesaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

The thunder registered with me, but I was still mildly surprised to see wet pavements this morning.
I have no post - birth pics of me, at all. Didn't occur to ex to take any, probably, only pics of the babies. Which is fair enough, I suppose, I was probably a sight...
I have really been enjoying the para-athletics (world championships) on More 4, I love watching athletics anyway and this is great. It's on for the rest of the week. British golden success today for Aled Davies and Richard Whitehead, Aled's 2nd gold of the Games.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
