Fuddle - so sorry to hear about your throat, sounds awful, might ice cream be soothing to eat? And very cooling!
Fresher weather would now be most welcome, please ... my stripey cat lies on the table in the coolest room all day, but now that the (slightly) cooler evening is here, he wants a cuddle - and he's a big chap, with a thick fur coat. Love him, but only a quick hug tonight, I think!

Fuddle, Sorry to hear about your throat, sounds very painful.
So take care and get plenty of rest.

Its cooled down abit here, I have all the windows open as there is a cool wind blowing through and its lovely.

Need to make some cakes, so going to try the muffins, so the OH will help as I still only have one arm in use at the moment.

Sorry you're so poorly Fuddle. Last time I had tonsilitis (ouch!) the antibiotics kicked in quite quickly so if you took some last night here's hoping they might have started working already. One other thing recommended to me was Ultra Chloraseptic throat spray which numbs your throat a bit if you can bear spraying it in. I have a really strong gag reflex so found it quite hard but it did work.
My poor DD (8) was on tenderhooks all day yesterday as she's obsessed with babies at the moment, then just as she goes to bed they make the announcement! We're all very smiley about it in this house. : )

    Morning all.

@fuddle A few weeks back i had a viral infection of strep throat. Couldn't eat, drink, ect mainly caused by my throat being so sore and closing up. The doctor informed me about a spray which you can buy over the counter - Difflam spray. I believe its about £4 a bottle but it worked a dream for me.

Its also handy to have in the home for minor issues too, Like toothache ect. I've managed to buy it at any pharmacy too - although some of the smaller ones might need to order it in. You can also get it on prescriptions should you not pay for yours.

So the thunderstorm finally arrived for us last night. 3:22am it started and carried on until 6:45 this morning. The lighting & thunder was amazing. It never stops to amaze me just how powerful mother nature can be when required. It was so bright i was up for over two hours just because it was lighting our bedroom up no end. However...No complaints from me. Today is fresh. Cooler than the past 2-3 weeks. I have open arms as a welcome...Bring on the winter :rotfl::rotfl:

Since seven this morning, I have been trying to think what to do for our dinner. I love salad but frankly i'm sick of it. I have various meats in the freezer but i'm limited on other items like potatoes, veg ect until shopping the weekend. I dont want to go out & buy before then as i'm trying really hard to make our budget stick & our food last longer.

Anyways off for a cuppa & a quick read on the online papers. Hugs to all that needs them. xx

    Be happy & healthy

good morning everyone, its so humid here. I was woken up in the early hours by an amazing thunderstorm. Its still raining here now.

Well I need to be in town in a bit, have to get eggs and choc bits for the muffin recipe. Also a few bits for tea. Then its drop DD off to meet her boyfriend and I will be going home.

Just going to potter around today.

The feel good factor is continuing today with the news of the royal birth, America is totally gripped as they adore the royal family. Its nice that our country has something that others admire so much.

Have a good day everyone x

morning toughies, its a flying visit this morning as its full steam ahead, I have two assemblies to do this morning and then mad dash to get teachers presents made and wrapped etc - we have 14 to do in total this year so am planning a cupcake each with a flannel animal, I was considering adding a small jar of sweets each as well but am not sure whether it would be a little silly or what sweets to add.

We dont particularly do royalty here, but DS15 was tickled by the watching the door all day, when the announcement came he was put out that there would be no more door :) Auties never follow the crowd :)

Puch, poor fuddle. I've used diff lam spray too, or a cheaper equivalent. I went to Korea with tonsillitis last year and was teaching (talking) for 7 hours a day for 3 days and it kept me going.

We are looking after the neighbours cat, DD went off to get it indoors last night but I think it was too scared to go to her. W tried for about an hour and a half, coaxing, tempting. We got it to its own open door, which had a bowl of food just tucked inside, it walked straight past it, jumped over the fence and scarpered up the road  . So we had to leave it out, yes even in the terrible weather. Anyhow it is this morning sat on the wall staring at us resentfully. Hopefully it will take some food today. DD says if she can get it in, then she isn't
Letting it out at all :rotfl: the good news is that it has put her off ever wanting a cat. The smell of cat food added to that too.:T sorry but I am not a "petty person" and the smell of the food makes me barf.

It's chucking it down here with intermittent thunder and lightning. Much as I love sunshine, I rather like days like this. Very cleansing. I have to go to work, so don't feel I'm missing out at all. Fortunately I got my two loads of washing in last night.

DD is having friends for a sleepover tonight so a lounge gets taken over by teenagers. But I don't mind, I'd rather be the house they want to come to.

I am having a civilised breakfast of egg, homemade bread and homemade marmalade, with a pot of coffee. I am also avoiding the news. Whilst I am happy for them and their baby, and realise it is a significant historical event, I don't really know what else there is to say.

Right, coffee finished so time to make some lunches. One for DS for soccer school, which I guess will be inside today, and some salad for me.

    Have a good day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
