Hope you feel better very quickly Fuddle. DS had endless throat and ear infections as a small-ish child, all knocked on the head by a tonsillectony when he was 11 or so, they did it in the school holidays to minimise disruption.

All well here, some nice goodies to trial from Amazon, enjoying the warm weather and having laundry dry in a couple of hours instead of three days. Work quite busy, as well as household things to do.
Wilko's did indeed have some good bargains, I picked up a roll of bin bags for 10p and a bag of lightweight waste basket liners for the same.
I hope the Daily Mirror have an A!di voucher this week, I've found those useful at the end of every month.

    Evening all,
If any bananas are going black, and i haven't time to bake, I chuck them in the freezer and defrost for about half/1 hour, they mash even more quickly! Also the muffins freeze really well, if they last that long.Do try the variations, they make a simple muffin 'licious!
I'm so glad the wait is over for the duke and duchess, and how lovely they have a healthy child.
Hope you all have cool nights sleep. fuddle take care , and feel better soon

Oh dear. You know how some of you told me to go to doctors if my throat didn't get better? I did just that this evening via out of hours.I can't even drink water my tonsils are so big. I'm in a lot of pain. I've double antibiotics but have to go to my GP tomorrow afternoon to be prepared for a referral to get the antibiotics intravenously and/or my tonsils drained.

You're supposed to not bother the doctor about sore throats but honestly this is twice in a couple of months. If it happens again ill be going on day 3 not day 6!

Still out of action and pretty miserable. Sat outside midnight pharmacy waiting for the wonder drugs xx

Poor you - tonsils are evil and make you feel so ill. I had mine removed at the grand age of 35 after years of suffering. It was the worst and best thing I ever did. Worst because it was excruciatingly painful for a week but the best because once i had recovered it was so good to be pain free and to know that I would never suffer tonsillitis ever again.

Oh Im an Archers fan too and think Lillian deserves all she is getting! I have listened since a child too and now my husband is totally addicted too and always listens on a Sunday whilst doing the ironing:T
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It is sheila, 'tis tonsillitis. I've take paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine all at the same time to try stem the pain, only goes sat fair in that I'm not sobbing but still can't eat.

I got the codeine on pescription and horrified!!! Can you buy codeine over the counter?

If I can just get through these next few days it will subside - only thing is my mam and sister are coming down to babysit. Lively and supportive of the I know but going to be chaotic what with her children too! I think I'll stay in bed!

Can't wait to function again. All you trooper people who just get on with everyday things when your bodies don't play nicely, well you're fab and I should be ashamed of me self for stopping all my duties cos me throat hurts - I'm certainly not a woman of strength yet huh? ;) one day :D

fuddle - you can buy codeine over the counter but its a low dose, your GP will have given you the stronger one - if you are having lots of antibiotics and painkillers I find it cheaper to get a three month pre payment when I get the first prescription. I go to boots pay for the certificate and they send all the stuff off and then it covers that prescription there and then, I then just tick the box that I have a certificate even if I havent received it.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

Our schools dont break up until Wednesday and I am feeling it, lots nearby finished Friday, but we have to wait until Wednesday, its still so hot here and I am drained with it all.
