VJ's Mum, another Archer's devotee:pIs that something we do when we hit a "ahem" certain age. I think I have been listening regularly for four or five years but could've been much longer.
I have been an Archers fan since I was a little girl and can remember Grace Archer Phils first wife 'dying ' in a fire in 1955 and folk sending flowers to the BBC it hooked so many people and was very popular I now listen to the omnibus on a Sunday morning whilst I am prepping veg for the week and baking for the biscuit and cake tins.I love the amount of daft things that happen. Its very good at showing what sort of 'class' system still prevails in a small village, although Jennifer has had some jolly raunchy story lines and her sister Lillian is a bit of a girl who like a drink or three and a bloke even more:):)

Oh dear. You know how some of you told me to go to doctors if my throat didn't get better? I did just that this evening via out of hours.I can't even drink water my tonsils are so big. I'm in a lot of pain. I've double antibiotics but have to go to my GP tomorrow afternoon to be prepared for a referral to get the antibiotics intravenously and/or my tonsils drained.
You're supposed to not bother the doctor about sore throats but honestly this is twice in a couple of months. If it happens again ill be going on day 3 not day 6!
Still out of action and pretty miserable. Sat outside midnight pharmacy waiting for the wonder drugs xx0 -
Wishing you well. Some say don't bother the Dr others say don't bother A&E etc...and of course some do mis use the system but most of us(like yourself)can't do right for doing wrong...caught between a rock and a hard place.

awe fuddle, I hope they work quickly. They may refer you to have them removed if they are really bad. I had it done a few years ago, it was the best thing for me.

Poor FUDDLE, glad you went to the out of hours service, we're made to feel guilty whatever we do or don't do pet, I'm of the opinion that if you feel really poorly then get to the GP asap and the worst that can happen is they send you home without anything but advice. Glad they've given you antibiotics, sad your throat is so infected they have to take invasive action. Be better soon pet, and enjoy the summer holidays.
Glad the new royal baby has finally arrived, I know it's been a bit of a pain with the news coverage all through the day but a nice little family now have a new baby, royal or not, it's still something to celebrate and be happy about, wish them well, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -

Fuddle - hope you're on the mend soon.....tonsils are evil.
I've loved the coverage of the anticipation of the birth of our furture King, a bit of history that doesn't happen every day. Scary thought that I may never get to see him take the throne. And amazing to think that he could be the monarch at the turn of the next century!
