good morning everyone.
Girls hmmmm well I have 2 and both have had some nasty things happen. Eldest was bullied as she did some modelling for a friends photographic studio she had just set up. They were lovely photos too!! She always stood funny - I didn't realise she had a curved spine. She had surgery and posted a pic of her scar on facebook - the appologies rolled in. On her prom day her dress was turquoise and she had horse and cart - its amazing who wanted to be a friend and have their photo taken with her.
Today im going to Lincoln with my mum and girls, its so humid and I still have a headache. Well I must get a shower and get dressed. Mum will be here all bright and breezy!!!
Take care everyone xBSC member 137

Another here up most of the night with a snotty cold and catarrhy cough, and so tired.
The party for my 91yr old Aunt was lovely with lots of family,4 generations, lots of chat and laughter. The banana and white chic muffins disappeared rapidly and spent sometime giving the recipe out.
Left the hound at home as it was too hot , and because they have cats. Sighthounds and cats are not a good mix1
Have a cool day all

Morning all,
A bit groggy today. My neighbour, of disappearing fame appears to be away, but has lent his house to some very unpleasant house guests. They wake me up most nights at 1,3 and 5 shouting, but last night really takes the cake. They shouted quite literally all night long. There was some sort of major row, one of them ripped a radiator off the wall and at one point one of them had barricaded herself in the bedroom that shares a wall with ours and was pretending to phone the police. Unfortunately, she does not appear to have actually phoned them as they didn't turn up. This was around 12, and I was hoping they would turn up just to get the two of them to be quiet, but no such luck. Neither of us wants to go over and knock, as the whole thing sounds fairly violent but then we're stuck on the other side of the wall listening to two people swear and threaten each other all night. My only hope is when the owner returns he'll throw them out for wrecking his house.
Ah well. I shall have an extra strong coffee today and make the best of it.
Kidcat, I remember all too vividly that kind of petty drama when I was a young girl. It seemed to go on for years. By the time I was in what you would call college here, I'd just learned to stay away from the fray. A bit sad really as it meant I didn't have many friends, but I had no tolerance for it. Not when it was done to me, and not when my so called friends did it to others. However, it sounds like you're doing the best you can to teach your daughter that this isn't how people should treat each other, that she is loved and valued, and that she can invite friends on her terms. Good thinking allowing her to have school friends over. I think it will help her see she has many friends. Overall, I think the others are right--try not to worry, this won't be the last time. If your daughter sees that it worries you, then it is more likely to worry her.
I hope those of you with colds aren't suffering too badly.
Pops, meant to say yesterday--it drives me batty when bus schedules are wrong. I'm just the sort of person who can fixate on these things. I once waited for a bus that should be every 10 minutes. When it rolled up 38 minutes late, another man who had been waiting tried to offer the driver a pro-rated fare, taking into account his lateness. It did not go over well. I felt a bit bad for the driver, as I know there are many instances where the timing of the bus is beyond their control, but I also felt sympathy for the man, it seems wrong to be expected to pay full fare when the service is so unreliable that people miss appointments etc.0 -
Morning well today is the first day of our holidays 6 weeks.
My head hurts just at the thought of it we have plans for most weeks luckly we live next door to a massive park and nature reserve that has 2 free events every week except the first and last today we are going to make a contract so they know what has to be done.
Kidcat. On our street the woman still behave like kids they hate it if you talk to someone else has or have other friends over then get really abusive. It is all quite sad . They party every Friday night which is getting louder every week, we had a massive party all the gardens are open plan and have small 3 foot fences, we live on a corner plot and most of our friends live on the other street to the idiots. We had huge bouncy castle with washing up liquid on for adults and massivpool it was brilliant all the houses on the bottom street came it appeared that because we had a party and didn't invite them they became jelase and decided to sit in nextdoors garden a empty house and party and send there bloody kids round to eat and drink!!!! Now the people that live next door to the ring leader can't sleep as it's got to the point now where it's every night then they bloody sleep allday. We live directly across from them andccant sleep 6 out of 7 nights it really is a nightmare.
Sorry rant over its a bit drizzly hear today hope it brightens up .
Have a happy dayI have dyslexia so I apologize for my spelling and grammar0 -
Morning Toughies, it's uncomfortable hot and humid here this morning 25 degrees already and sticky wherever you are, sun or shade. Had the lurcher out and walking at 6.15 when it was cooler and have just been to the allottment to pick courgettes, a dozen in all so have given some to my neighbour along with todays picking of french beans and 3 of the 12 cucumbers I also picked today. I'm going to make some more pickled cucumbers to make sure they don't go to waste, and there are so many more growing on we'll have them all summer. I'm going to be glad when the temperature drops a bit overnight, I'm permanently jaded with the continual waking up you get in these hot conditions, it will be nice to sleep through and wake up feeling my usual energy levels.
Hope you all have a good day, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all.
Hugs & well wishes for anyone who needs them today. Only just catching up on the thread so cant name each person!
Had a long weekend, Saturday was busy, nipped to OH parents for a cuppa, Then yesterday my 2 brothers & SIL asked if we wanted to nip to the market.
Apon getting there we waited at the meat stall
(Very popular for extremely cheap deals)
Me & OH was standing there listening to what deals was on offer when he asked all the women in the crowd to put their hands up, Next thing I know he was chucking meat at us.
I nearly got hit in the face by packs of bacon & gammon - In a panic, I stepped back and pulled something in my back. I also nearly knocked another women over who tried pushing me out the way to catch the said items.
Complete mess, But OH was happy that we got over £10 worth of meat completely free! The butcher said that he didn’t want to take any of the items home so instead assumed that every women wanted injuries to go with their free meat! lol
SIL yesterday felt a drop in her tummy, Since then she’s been having period like pains on & off all day.
She had another emergency growth scan last week (consultant) just called her in & they’ve said she’s 4/5ths engaged and baby’s est. weight on delivery is 10 pounds 1 ounce. :O
On Friday evening we received a slip through our front door, A neighbour was moving back to America & they was having a yard sale over the weekend. OH & I attended and brought some lovely items. The couple was lovely and was giving away their items at a silly reduced price. I managed to buy 4 shell shaped glass ordainments for £1, It was only then she told me these date back to 1920 & that she was getting them valued - but moved forced the sale before she had the chance. I have no intention to sell these items but out of interest I would love to know if they are genuine 1920’s goods & what their original use was for. Any idea where I could find this information out? Online?
Today the weather is strange, Very overcast but warm. Then its sunny but cold. We have been given alerts that we could receive flooding over the next 12 hours plus heavy thunderstorms. (I personally cant wait for some cooler weather) But OH dreading it because this weeks work all depends on good warm weather.
Had a mini bbq yesterday & today the place is like a tip! So I’ll be spending my day cleaning and getting all the rubbish & recycling together for tomorrows collection.
Will be popping on & off the tread today. Hope you all have a lovely day!! XFuture goals:
Become debt free.

First day of the holidays and DS is back at school!! Our local premier league (just) team runs holiday soccer schools for kids aged 7 - 14. DS at 14 can only go a few more times. It is good value £50 for the week from 10 -3 every day. I don't make him go, but he chooses to and really loves it, he's been going 5 or 6 years now, I am hoping when he finally has to stop they will let him be mascot and one of the team proper matches as it is something I have seen them do.
DD has sorted the neighbours pets for the morning, and I've got my first washing load on before the thunderstorms arrive. I hope we get one, I love a good thunderstorm.
I need to boil up my jam as it is too soft set, I will do that whilst tidying up the kitchen and catching up with the archers. Multitasking at its best
Altogether now "push, Kate, PUSH" :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hi Princess
If you take the glass items to your local auction house (make out you are thinking of putting them in for sale ...) they should be able to tell you what they are, and roughly how much they might be worth.

Tell your SIL to take estimated weights with a large dose of salt. My first was estimated to be 10lbs too, he was 7lb 6oz! I had numerous growth scans with second son and his estimated weight was 11lb! Yep he was 8lb 5oz. Childbirth is scary enough first time around without the hospital putting the fear of god into you about giving birth to a toddler sized baby!0 -
I wonder why the school holidays are so different ? Our schools have been off for 3 weeks already.0
