NUTTY I know you're worried about it all but you really have done the responsible and correct thing by phoning higher up the management chain. You're dealing with the public and presumably the business is licenced and the no alcohol for staff rule is there for a pertinent reason. If she loses her job it will be none of your making and all her own, all you are doing is applying the same set of rules that you and the others abide by, so don't feel you're the bad guy in this situation, if she's flouting regulations then it's her choice to do so. Hope you manage some rest today and feel calmer and more level by this evening, Hugs Lyn xxx.0

Morning everyone, welcome to the newbies and glad to see you home in one piece GQ!
It rained a bit last night, but thankfully no evidence of *slugs!* My washing is wet again - I've been very lazy recently, putting out washing in the evening and it's dry in the morning, but karma has now caught up and it will take all day to dry as there's no breeze! Oh well, such is life.
fuddle, glad you're feeling better, and are raring to go for the hols. (hugs)
nutty, I agree with the others, you've done the right thing. You have to be responsible for and to yourself, your other colleagues and the business; it's unfortunate she has problems, but this might be the kick up the behind she needs to sort herself out. (hugs)

Weather here is perfect, overcast and cool. Means I can pack for our little holiday without getting frazzled. Off to sunny Lincolnshire tomorrow. Lots of stops on the way and a cooler box full of drinks to save money. I even have an FB pie for tea tomorrow
Was presented with an electronic cigarette off DD yesterday and it seems to work for me so if not totally ciggie free I will certainly be better off in so many ways. May well be debt free sooner than I thought.
Welcome pinkdebster, my oh my you are a positive person.
nuttyp it obvious the person knows they are in the wrong as they made no comment but you were wise taking precautions with OH. You do not need the stress of her in work and Im glad you are being backed up.
GQ glad to have you back we have missed your voice of sanity and reason :rotfl:

Afternoon all,
Welcome back GQ - had a giggle at the sock taming.
Ginny. - hope your break away is relaxing and refreshing.
It's silly hot here again today, struggled round an early morning bootfair but now collapsed on the sofa for the afternoon. I'm coming down with a cold, hot and cold shivers, snotty nose, blocked ears and sore throat.....delightful. Hopefully an afternoon of nothing will let my body fight it. There's a big bowl of salad in the fridge, various cold meats, rice, couscous etc so everyones been instructed to get on with it and not expect a cooked meal today.
Fluffy kitten is doing really well, she brought me a lovely mouse yesterday which she then played with for an hour before letting her sister eat it.....she's just comein with a very swollen mouth and chin so I assume a battle was lost with a wasp/bee...she's still rubbing round me for a stroke so can't be suffering too much."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Hello,
Hugs to all of you who are feeling poorly or have longer term health issues that are flaring up.
I wanted to pop in and say that the recipe book has been well-received. The party was long and we were both absolutely shattered last night, but I think the birthday lady had a nice time. Today is a quiet day. We've done the walk to Ald! for the shopping, OH has done the washing up and I've got sheets on the line. He is making pizza for dinner, and I'm working on packing as I'm going to visit my parents next week and need to make sure everything in clean, ironed etc. and will fit in the bag.:D
I quite fancy a spot of baking this afternoon since it is fairly cool and overcast today. I'd love to make some muffins, but struggling to think of some fruit that I could chuck in. Perhaps an idea with come to me while I'm ironing. Failing that, I could do scones. My scones are very butter heavy, so I usually try to only make them when guests are coming as otherwise the two of us will scoff the whole batch.:o0 -
Afternoon toughies
my the thread is so busy these days its hard to keep track and keep up to date.
Pooky - hope kitty continues to improve
GQ -welcome home
Nutty - you have done exactly what is right, but I do understand that sometimes doing the right thing makes you feel bad so huge hugs for you.
Ginny - have a wonderful break, you really deserve it
Stiltwalker - how did you meal go?
Am sure I had loads more to comment but my brain is mush this weekend, the heat has really got to me and I am struggling.
We have three days left at school before the summer holidays and I really feel as though I need it nowIts slightly cooler today but am so zapped I am managing a burst of energy followed by long rest break, which isnt conducive to getting much done.

I managed to get to the destination but all the bus unformation was wrong and I came home early(well I had purchased all I wanted)
Thanks to the busses:mad:I had a long slow walk from the stop and back. If time had allowed I would have got better images of the Deer in the grounds but time was against me. I arrived at the bus stop with 5 seconds to spare otherwise it was an hour to wait for the next. Took a couple of short video's too. Also some of the exterior of the castle.
I treated myself to some artisan bread.:)
It seemed a very popular event and well supported. The weather was hot and humid even if the sun was missing but as I came home it was showing its face.
It was easier coming home than going:p

Good afternoon. Its comfortably cooler here again today and I for one appreciate it.
Pinkdebster you have such a positive attitude I need to borrow some of it.:T
As have you pops. Considering how recently you lost your mum I think its amazing how much you make yourself keep going out and about.:T
Glad you are feeling bit better fuddle. My late OH used to gargle with salt and tried to persuade me to as well. I can't abide salt and don't use it so the few times I gave in and tried the gargle I brought it all back up again. He finally stopped trying.
I agree with the others nuttyp that you did the right thing, for your work, for your colleagues, for yourself and also for the lady concerned. I hope that she will be able to bring something positive eventually.
Sunshine I hope you get the full diagnosis soon.
I'm sat with all the windows and veranda door open and can hear the band performing at the auditorium across the river in South Shields. Sometimes we hear the hooter of the little train as it runs around the park there. I have a beautiful view but quiet and peaceful its not.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0
