Wishing your Father well VJ, Interested in the reference to ointment. Not too long ago I watched strawberry jam being made on TV and was surprised how simple it was:)

Hello and welcome, Pinkdebster.
I'm sorry to hear that you're living with such health problems but good on ya for having a positive attitude.
I got prickly heat for the first time ever on this holiday, horrible welts around my legs where my socks went. I rubbed in Sud0Crem and it helped a lot, and the welts are almost invisible now. Dunno if this is correct form, but thought I'd mention it in case it's of some assistance.
The grass outside my flat has gone completely brown, dotted with a few greenish bits which are weeds. We're talking a scabby pocket-hanky size patch of municipal turf, not my own private baliwick, btw. The weather has gone greyish and cool and I'm wondering if it might rain......amazing how a fortnight of scorching weather makes you long for a change.
VJsMum, nice work getting OH to iron. I'll have to send myself a motivating text, I think.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

VJsMUM the weatherpeople on the Beeb are talking temperatures of 35+ for the middle of next week with a breaking down of the fine weather, increase in humidity and inevitable intense local Thunderstorms in most areas. I for one won't be too distressed if the temperatures decrease a little, today has been bearable here and never reaching above 26 degrees outside and with the breeze and a little cloud cover it has been almost comfortable, tomorrow is going to be entirely another story I think, and the heat is rising again so the poor lurcher will be in his customary hot weather place behind the sofa with his gangly leggies up the wall, he looks so funny, hope we all sleep tonight, we'll see, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Wish the thunderstorms had come sooner and saved my tubs of flowers...
Prickly Heat seems to be an allergy and not unconnected to Hay Fever(well. over production of histermene)Have seen mention of an organic suncream and capsules that can be taken."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hello Pinkdebster.
Don't worry about sorting us out, just treat us as an amorphous mass. We won't mind.
About prickly heat, I agree with GreyQueen (Oh yes, I know on which side my bread is buttered), Sudocreme is very good. I have also had very good results with Bach's Rescue Remedy Cream. It's a bit more expensive but worth it I think. Also Aloe Vera Gel is good. I keep mine in the fridge and it's calming and refreshing.
Have read that through and, Golly Gosh, please note my careful grammar. Hope you are all suitably impressed.
I have twisted my knee somehow today and am hobbling about like a good'un. As you may know I never have anything wrong with me so I'm making the most of this, lots of ooohing and ouching. I have fresh admiration for all of you who have real problems and disabilities, how do you all do what you do and stay so cheerful? Respect!
I think the Kelp is working its magic here. In spite of the weather I have been cleaning, gardening and still been 'with it' and active in the evenings. Isn't it just typical that this is when I crock myself up. Still, not to feel that I am groping through fog all the time and being reluctant to move this is progress indeed.
Hope you all manage to sleep tonight.

She wants butter on it, does she? There's posh......:rotfl:
I knew I was home when I had to call the polis just now as someone was kicking my neighbour's door in. Did that once years ago and the perp was actually a plainclothes police officer, lol.
Shoebox Towers; a neighbourhood with a (bad) character all its own.
Right, going to retire to my pit and enjoy the coolth and the pocketed box springs. That's the true bliss of camping - you get to come home afterwards and appreciate the comforts of home sweet home.
Nighty-night, everyone, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Its been really warm but heavily overcast with a nice breeze here in the North East today - quite chilly tonight - lovely :T
Have had a difficult twelve months healthwise but I am finally getting my mojo back and have climbed back into my seat on the OS bus
Today has been a good day on the OS front
This morning I popped into Wilko's and was lucky to pick up some end-of-line bargains - Wilko own brand stuff mainly - bottles of washing liquid, disinfectant and cleaning liquid for 25p each, packs of polishing wipes for 25p, McLeans whitening toothpaste for 25p, boxes of bio wash powder for 50p and I got two packs of liquid-tabs {Ariel and Persil} for £1 each - saw these in Sainsburys later for £4.50 each!
This afternoon at the allotment, we picked courgettes, sugar snap peas, a big bunch of beetroot and 4lbs of raspberries.
This evening, DH and I went foraging in the upper part of the village and picked just over 8lbs of large black cherries from one of the hedgerow trees - it was absolutely loaded with fruit & we could have picked lots moreThere will be some HM Cherry Brandy for Christmas presents this year

Evening Ladies and Pops
I hope its abit cooler for you all tonight.
I would like to Thank you all for letting me know how the steroids affected you all.I hope I didnt take over the thread to much asking all those questions.
As I know so many of you have serious health problems yourselves, as do OHs and Children and you could forget out 4 legged furry friends who are sick as well. So Thank you.
They are 95% sure I have Lupus (SLE).They say diagnosing Lupus takes awhile but they are going to go along as if I have it for now,
So for now I am on the steriods for the forseeable future, along with other medication. I have an appointment with a dermatologist in a few weeks as my hair is falling out, I have had it cut quite short so it doesnt look too bad, also have the rash on my face.
I will see a Rheumatologist in a few months, but they will keep doing blood and other tests to see if all this medication helps.
Thank you for your support:T:T
