Morning All,
There's no sun out and its cooler...there is a break in the weather for the time being. Now we'll probably want it back again:p
So much to catch up on...may have to make notes. If the officially promoted Travel Line service cannot get times right what chance has the traveller?
Years ago, I can remember being able to get home in the early hours of the morning by trains via the main routes but even they seem to finish well before midnight these days and yet they keep saying its a 24/7 society. Perhaps just in city areas.
I promised to show the bread I purchased, its lovely...already eating the loaf on the right made by Sue...I really must have another go at baking my own..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Thought you may like the following...
The food event was held in the grounds of Raby Castle and it also has a big herd of deer. To be honest you get the best view of the castle from the roadside not actually in the grounds and its a "bit of a walk"
Being rushed means that I did not take better images but they're not bad. Also I had to use the limited zoom lens. Another time perhaps."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pops
Lovely pictures.
Managed to go to local butcher before they closed at midday with dd to help me carry stuff home. Medium chicken, pork sausages. four pork chops, mince and braising steak for £17.50.
Youngest dd should be in Rome by now and gets back on Friday :j
Managed to pickle big jar of beetroot which DH loves and saved a plate of lunch from yesterday for him to have today so he is very pleased.
Very overcast and dull so far so will decide what to cook later when we know what weather will be. Lots of DH's home grown tatties have been got at by slugs - infuriating as the good ones are really good
So glad we have a courtesy car and went for a big shop at the weekend so have lots of fruit and veg which are heavy to carry.
Hugs to all and especially those with noisy neighbours and feeling poorly."This site is addictive!"

Thank you Lyn and Elona
I don't like being rushed...which I was a little yesterday...will do it again some time...perhaps I should have had a tour of the castle with the price being reduced by £6. Another time...
I'll share one last image for now...
They are produced by my friend...I've given some away as a thank you for kindness shown to me.
I have had to plan some of my journeys/days out but I tend to prefer taking off suddenly and though mobility restricts I like to take my time and take everything in. I guess I take everything at a leisurely pace.
Pickling beetroot sounds interesting Elona but I suppose its probably easier to buy being alone. Especially, the size and price Aldi's have compared to the other super markets.
Homemade Jam sounds nice too VJ's Mum, another Archer's devotee:pIs that something we do when we hit a "ahem" certain age. I think I have been listening regularly for four or five years but could've been much longer.
grandmasam, glad your get together went so well.
FairyPrincessk, what a night, hope that's the end of it. Wonder what your neighbour will return to? I know we're all different but I could never imagine when things are difficult behaving that way."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Pops: Lovely pictures.
When I lived in my cottage the deer used to sleep under my apple tree before having breakfast in my flower beds. If I leant out of my bedroom window and clapped my hands and yelled at them they used to stare at me with barely disguised disgust.:mad: When I went downstairs there was likely to be a deer gazing at me through the kitchen window with one of my best roses tucked into its mouth like a demented Spanish dancer.:D

I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. the caravan water heater breaking was just the start...the lawnmower broke, then the dishwasher. I know a dishwasher is a luxury but our first one was a wedding present and the second was given to us by my parents when they moved. we got a lawnmower in homebase at the week end when there was 15% off. trying to be mse we looked on gumtree for a dishwasher and found one in a shop not too far away. we should have known better...the b****y thing doesn't work. I am so angry:mad:
anyway enough of my moans...
