Jem - ((hugs)) yes the way some people think defeats me too :)

Vjsmum - if kitty wont come in today can I suggest a packet of dreamies -cat treats that really do work at getting them in, a shake of the packet brings half my neighbours cats home to me as well as my own.
  • Oh how worrying Jem. Hope your FIL improves quickly. I too find it difficult to understand how some people act.

I hope the antibiotics are starting to work fuddle and your throat is a little less painful.

We had the thunderstorm starting about 5 am with such a loud roll it woke me up. And I'd only just got to sleep because of the heat. Storm lasted til roughly 8 am and there was no more sleep for me so am very slow and groggy today.:(

I'm not good at resisting the temptation to buy things I don't need and can't afford (especially when they seem a bargain) which is how I ended up with 2 new skirts last week from the M&S sale. But I was good and took them back yesterday.:money: Must NOT take plastic with me when out.:D:D
Have had the prolonged discussion with Tax Office and they have agreed I am unable to make any payment just yet.
They will contact me again in 6 months to see if situation has changed. Only if some unknown relative somewhere should suddenly decide to leave me money. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: HA!!

The seagulls are very loud here today. Perhaps the cooler weather has given them relief as well. I don't notice them usually but they are very intrusive today. I'm having enough trouble concentrating as it is.

The funeral for my relative has finally been agreed by her 3 sons and is on Friday. I'm not looking forward to it as all the arguing parties will be there.

Hope you all have a good day.

AOT: Sorry for you loss. I hope that these bickering relatives behaves & remembers that your all there for the same reason.

When i was younger and my great nan past (On mothers side) the entire family was changing dates, times, ect so one or the other side would miss the funeral. I swear to this day my nana past a angry women! I'm sure for the day / Morning / Afternoon they can ignore one another & send off your loved one with a little respect. xx

AOT - am glad you have managed to persuade tax office to listen to reason, and as for the funeral my theory is that you go and rise above them all, try to tune them out as it were :)

As the saying goes you can pick your friends but not your family. We too had to bite our tongue at uncles funeral recently. They spread the ashes last Friday, my husband was told Saturday. Just goes to show how petty they are still to this day.

Well ive baked the banana and choc chip muffins, and ive eaten 2 already. They are yummy!! I have also made a tea loaf for OH as requested.

I am now having 5 mins and then I must get some hovering done. x

I don't understand why arguing parties continue with the venom at funerals... Isn't grief enough of an emotion?

Neighbours, or lack of decently fair and considerate ones, really can have an effect on our own lives. I really feel for you :(

Codeine is a wonderful pain killer and saw to it that I slept till 1am then 5am then onto 8.30am. Lovely as I'd only managed a few hours these past 5 nights or so. Anti-biotics are taking effect already and did just that Lyn, I had smoothy for breakfast.

Mam and sister were down. Wow, mam has been such a star. She's really helped me out and it feels so nice to have her being mam and not the wicked witch from the west! Sister on the other hand? Not going to bore you but I pity her at times. Very selfish 30year old sat winging at the news because Prince William was allowed to stay with Kate last night and its not fair because her husband couldn't stay with her when she had her children. A very valid point I guess but why is the point on bleating on about fortunate people and comparing them to your life. When they reported that Kate's hairdresser went in she was a picture. Going on and on about its not fair because she didn't have any of that. I just said something like 'no you don't have anything like that but you did have NHS that helped you due liver your 2 difficult births safely and healthy' no doubt she pulled the face but I turned and left.

MIL are having the girls tonight :D

BigDD is having a GP check up about that heart noise as we've still not heard anything from the referral. DH came to take her as I'm struggling to talk.

Time for me to catch up on the SHTF thread and no rain or thunder here!

I too am an Archers fan and enjoy listening in each Sunday while in the kitchen being busy.:) Such lovely photos Pops and thank you so much for sharing them with us. Our ds is living in Australia with his fiancee' and posted some lovely photos of kangeroos and their young on his Facebook page to share with us and we loved seeing them. Thank you so much Grandmasam for the recipe I shall make some tomorrow. I have made two pavlovas with our batch of strawberries from the garden and they were yummy. It is so satisfying to grow your own and to be able to eat them:)
Do a little kindness every day.;)

Fuddle did she not moan that she didn't marry a prince either?!
Glad you're feeling a bit better.
Sorry to hear your news Jem.
  • Hi FUDDLE so pleased that you're feeling better than you were, and well done your Mum for turning up trumps when you really needed her, she's not entirely lost is she? You must feel better for getting some sleep last night and that in turn makes for a better day. Hope all is well with your elder DD and that the GP sorts out the referral which will make you easier about the whole thing, yes? Hope your throat continues to improve and that you get another good nights sleep tonight, with your lovely and kind MIL having the girls, look after yourself pet, and keep taking the tablets, Love Lyn xxx.
