Well done to savingqueen's DS, I was really frightened of the water and was forced to go to swimming lessons. We used to queue up at the shallow end, get in and be passes along the adults standing in a line across the width. I could go for weeks without getting wet, I used to get near the front of the line and then walk back to the end with my father shouting from the balcony! I now love swimming but still have a slight fear if I don't have goggles on.
I hope you enjoy your day tomorrow stiltwalker, sounds like it will be fun and I'm sure your DD will let you know what she wants!
Had a funny week, the wardrobe I ordered just after the new year turned up on Tuesday morning (they had phoned Monday lunchtime to say it would be there within the hour and then phoned again to say that no-one was in! Funny that, if you don't know they are coming). Anyway it arrived before 8, and was led to believe it was in 2 parts - the bottom with the drawers and the top. It is actually in 4 parts so I got a friend to come to help put it together but we discovered it is damaged. Had to e-mail photos of the damage and am waiting to hear from them. Not really impressed, especially as I had saved for ages to pay the £450 they were asking.
I am now trying to shimmy my way in and out of bed as the bits are in there and too heavy/big to put anywhere else, quite amusing when I need the toilet at 2am!
DD has gone into work early to test the fire alarm as it didn't work yesterday and they are sending an engineer to look at it. I have some bits and bobs to get and loads of housework to do.
Hope you all have a good weekend.0 -
Monnagran, I was telling a couple of friends about it last night and it turned out she has a severe nickel allergy. Seems so common you wonder why they just don't use something else entirely.Waves hello from 5 OS pleasures thread!
softstuff it looks like M&S do latex and nickel free undies and they do deliver to Australia. It's usually free postage on orders over £30 , I usually get mine from there and only takes 5 days or so for delivery.
Just knickers or bras too? Was struggling to find them on the site. Thanks for the info.
Savingqueen, so happy for your DS with the swimming. It's a great fear to get over since it's such a useful skill to have.
Have been taking it easy today. It almost felt like I was having a date with my OH! Trying hard to remember that renovating and selling the flat and sorting out the house is a marathon, not a sprint. But then again, pace of work is something I've always struggled to control!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Well done (again!) to Little Miss Stilty for her swimming success and of course to Master Stilty for trying too (the bobbing bottom did make me laugh!) Glad to hear you conquered your fear of water camelot.
Strange thing is my DS isn't frightened of water or swimming in themselves, it was bad experiences of swimming classes which made him fearful of the actual lessons. He has had hardly any lessons yet he was put in the top group at school which hopefully will boost his confidence further. Think he has already cracked it though.
How annoying with the wardrobe camelot.
Softstuff - we all need to rest sometimes - it's actually the law, well OS law anyway. Good for you!
My boys are all out playing footie. I have a long list of chores which I haven't started yet. Making the most of the peace and quiet whilst I can but will get off here in a jiffy and crack on. DH will have his head buried in coursework most of weekend. I will try and plan a trip or something with boys tomorrow to give him space to work.0 -
Haven't read this page yet, just came on to say we're going away for a couple of days - spur-of-the-moment and the cattery had a space so we went for it
