Thanks for the link MrsCD, I think most contain elastic in one form or another.

Camelot, it does seem to be the bras that is the cause, but why is the query really. I've been a bit allergic to nickel previously, but that's gone wild recently (even with the stud on my jeans) and also I have a sticking plaster allergy (apparently people with this can become latex intolerant too). Frankly I'm considering tucking my boobs into my (non elasticated) waistband and being done with it :rotfl: On the plus side, the steroids and lack of bra means in just a couple of days I'm nearly all healed up.

I'm thinking of handsewing some sort of cotton holster type contruction!

What a dilemma softstuff :( I remember when I was a student nurse years ago we had a patient who was allergic to sticking plaster and turned out to also be allergic to micropore (supposedly non-allergenic), so we resorted to keeping her dressings in place with sellotape. A couple of days later she became allergic to the sellotape and in the end someone devised a way of keeping her dressings in place with string!

    Sending you non-elasticated hugs.

Monna Sorry, just re-read your post about the Indian wedding and realised you mentioned a train journey, not a bus journey. Not much better though!

I'm allergic to plasters and micropore. I have to have the expensive tape :) or a bandage. Mepore is fine.

Softstuff - could you fashion some kind of halterneck sling-type support from a scarf or length of fabric? or try here http://www.cottonique.com/pages/latex-free-bras

    Or here Softstuff : http://www.latexfreeundies.com/latex-and-elastic-free-bra.html
And probably it's the law to buy your bra from a site called latex free undies.

Softstuff - does your knicker elastic have the same reaction?

Thanks Ivyleaf. I've been allergic to sticking plaster a while, but micropore used to be ok. It seems to be getting worse though and even micropore reacts now. The last time I cut my hand I ended up using cotton bandage tied on. When I was in hospital the nurse was pretty amazed how I reacted.

Greenbee, an excellent idea re the scarf and halterneck. That might even be possible tomorrow, I think I have some light cotton fabric that would do the trick. Love the look of the cottonique bras, but they're only small sizes.

Possession they make them my size! Thanks for that link. The prices make me , but at least it's the possibility. I'm left wondering more about making my own.

Pooky... seemingly yes it does. Particularly around the legs. I haven't done anything constructive to fix that yet either. And when I wore a set of tight leggings a couple of weeks back, I was in a fair bit of ouch and thought it was my op scars playing up. In hindsight I think it was the elastic.

So, no bodycon dresses for me :rotfl:

Could you wrap fabric around the bra where it meets the skin?

It might work as an emergency measure.

    Sewing your own undieshttp://www.sewinglingerie.com/index.html

Tutorial. You can make a channel to enclose the elastic at the bottom and cut bias strips for straps so no need for elastic.

I have made french knickers from a pattern that was mock boxers. I just folded the fly bit back on the pattern and used the fold line as the cutting line. They fit beautifully and there is no elastic exposed to cause me problems. The waist elastic is stitched close to the top then folded and sewn again to enclose it. I used a knit cotton fabric and zig zag stitching on most of them. I also made the matching vest tops that were in the pattern too.

Hi everyone, SQ you beet me to it, at our local Aldi they had the mirror papers at the till, anyone who didn't have a voucher they offered them a paper to buy and then took the voucher out. There was a lovely lady who was so grateful, I had mine already!!!

Well I have received shocking news today, said collegue at work who is fairly new was sacked today. She has stolen £20. There are other incidents being looked into but why do it?? We have cameras everywhere.

On a better note we have arrange a super special surprise for OH for his birthday and fathers day combined. He is going to see Norwich play football on easter Monday, he will meet the players and also receive a signed shirt with his name printed on it. He also has his name in the brochure as fan of the match. I am his companion for the day, but I don't enjoy football but I will try and be enthusiastic!! Needless to say there are 5 of us paying in.

My mum is allergic to latex and she buys her bras from good old m& s, not sure what exactly she buys but they are the only ones she can wear.

I received my biopsy results back today and all is ok, I basically have ibs and stress makes it very bad. So I will jus have to be careful and manage everything as best I can.
Also had my eyes tested today, I need new glasses again surprise surprise. But how do they expect me to see what they look like when I cant see to try them on?? So I didn't get any. DD is going to go with me to help by taking a pic on her ipad and then letting me look at them. Its the best answer we can come up with. More shockingly the cost I am thinking will be a good 2 hundred. He offered me reading glasses, but I think I will just get the main ones for the time being. If we are getting the bonus at work I will buy thwm both!!

    take care x
