Hope you recover soon monnagran and The Rev, the lurgy is horrid and seems to take ages to get over.
Good luck Sheila and have a good break.
savingsqueen - sounds like you and the boys are having a great half term. I know what you mean about speaking out, yesterday I was out with children from school on a trip. We had to travel by train and on the way back a chap was sat on the train with his bike and was taking up 6 seats! I asked if he could move his bike and he refused, the children had to more or less climb over the bike to get a seat. I asked him again and he said he wasn't moving his bike. Unfortunately for him he was getting off at the same stop as us so I blocked him and got the children to climb back round the bike one by one (there were about 20 of them), ushered them off the train and then got off myself. The doors very nearly shut before he could off. At least the children knew he was rude.

Managed to get a lot done at work today as some classes were out on a trip so got on without interruption. Just relaxing watching the sewing bee, Patrick has found a sense of humour at last!

    Hi everyone

Get well wishes to you and the Rev monna and any other poorlies too. x

Hope your mum and dad are doing ok Pooky and you are coping. Thinking of you lots and sending hugs x

Hurrah to the heating ivy.... enjoy. Well done your DS.

How rude and inconsiderate of that man on the train Camelot. What an example to set young people. He got his just desserts in the end, good on you for seeing them off first which is generally accepted practice for a group of children anyway.

Maggie, you are a darling thank you. Your park sounds perfect. We are lucky to have a lot of green space and very grateful for our old banger to reach most of it. We have a lot less purpose built sports areas and there are a lot of youngsters who want to use it which is great really. I think I will just have to revert back to the great muddy outdoors and as Pooky says embrace it!! DH gets the most mud on him as he is always falling in it and so far, since the boys have been mad about football, managed to break a finger and hurt his ribs amongst other small injuries.

Announced yesterday my intention to take boys out somewhere new today, not very expensive and somewhere they will love. Unfortunately I'm under the weather today and not up for it. Boys have been brilliant about it and I have promised to take them another time soon.
Earlier DS10 tried to watch a Harry Potter film whilst DS8 ran starkers around the living room. DS8 loves being naked and is a mischievous lad whilst DS10 is nearly Victorian in his attitude, not even allowed to see him without a top on. Happy days! DS8's ruse to stop his brother watching TV has worked, they are now playing a (football themed, what else) game with their remote control toys. DS8's robot talks very loudly, oh boy!

I remember the joyous feelings of having a warm house and hot water again. Well done that man Ivyleaf. Monna you are never ill. You will not know what to do with yourself so in case you were wondering sit down, stay sitting down, elevate those feet for relaxation purposes and look after you and the Rev.

I'm following the same rule of thumb really as I went away to Cornwall with a cold, pushed myself so as not to ruin the break away and now suffering a bit. I say that in the loosest terms though as I have just knocked up a loaf of olive and rosemary bread to be served with soft cheese when it's baked later on. I am from this point on putting my feet up with hot orange and honey (and paracetamol!)

Can I ask a Q? Is it steamed vinegar or steamed lemon I should use to help clean the microwave? I've come back to a not-so-nice smelling piece of kit :(

Update on my drop spindle is that it's successful in terms of I'm doing it but erm, the yarn I am producing is somewhat rustic. So much so I am at a loss as what to do with it.

I've never watched Sewing Bee Camelot is it worth a catch up?

fuddle a bowl of water with either vinegar or lemon in should do the trick I think.
