A late good morning to you all

Brain like a marshmallow and nothing much happening here. I did school run and few chores and off to bed soon. DH has offered to do the afternoon school run - he is still off sick.

Hugs where needed. How is everyone today?

I can drink tea again!!! Oh how I have missed it.

*stand up* My name is Diane and I fully admit to been a caffeine addict.

I'm still feeling weak and wobbly, but much better than I was thankfully. :)
Thank you all for the get well messages :)

SQ I hope you are 100% again very soon x

kidcat I saw an osteopath a few years ago when my knees went, just before a trip to Disneyland Paris which I hobbled around. It was due to me carrying all my tension in my neck and shoulders and it tracked down to my knees. I found that it helped me a lot. I hope it does the same for you. I am so sorry to hear about your dog and I'm sure you will do what is best for him ((((((((((hugs)))))))))

I am so glad that your DH's new job is going so well nuttyp

Last night DH and DS2 had a visit to the local walk in clinic to deal with the huge blister he has on his left hand. He made himself a pan pizza on Wednesday and forgot that the metal frying pan was hot and grabbed it with his bare hand. It came up in the blister during the day yesterday and looked terrible when he got home from school. The advice is to leave it alone and to dress it if/when it bursts. Not a job I am looking forward to, but it's part of being a mom.
Today I'm planning on having a long soak in the bath and making dinner..........such a busy schedule lol

    Take care everyone xxxx

Welcome back to the world of caffeine SDG! Glad you are feeling better and not planning much for today if you are still wobbly. Take care

His lordship has gone to the shops to "pick up a few things". Heaven help our bank account. I have requested he is sensible, he has agreed but.... well we will see!

Tried to sleep but seems the world and his wife are about, workmen outside, people chatting outside our house (how very dare they!) and so on so came back downstairs. Need to do another lot of dishes. I hate leaving them from dinner but have been doing that last couple of nights. Hang some washing, indoors for once as cba. Then I am doing zilch :p

Forgot to say when DS8 went back to school yesterday still not feeling great, he was picked on. Told me at bedtime that 2 younger children came up to him and one kicked and bit him. He hasn't experienced this before and didn't know what to do. He didn't want to physically touch the child ie, push him away as he was worried he would get into trouble being the older child (and tallest in his class.) He said he couldn't shout as his throat was sore but told the child to stop. I popped into school office to ask for the dinner ladies to keep an eye out today. He is so sensitive poor kid, hope he is ok today. If it happens again I am making an appointment with school.

Elona: No, no hat. Same reason as nursemaggie - no neck. It's just one of the shortcomings of my appearance, with the thin, fine hair, tree-trunk legs and the figure type.....well, certainly not apple, pear or any other fruit you can name, more Michelin Man or woman in this case.

Chickens: Yes my dear. We had the gas meter read when we moved in and swiftly re-directed the bills addressed to the previous tenant, (amounts over £2,000, EEEK!) Fortunately we are with a different provider. We have been monitoring the meter closely and discovered that with everything turned off the meter reading is still going up. Slowly, and by small amounts but still up. The Rev is continuing to blister the phone.
I hope you are getting enough rest. Don't forget that you have had a really stressful time lately and it takes time to recover. Be gentle with yourself.

SQU: So sorry that you have succumbed but how typical that you tried to get everything done before you gave in. What is it with us that we have to get the house ready before we can be ill?

Pooky: So sorry to hear about your mother. Lots of hugs, thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Kidcat: Oh, my dear! So sorry to hear about your poor dog, I do hope that the vet will be able to help. Also sympathies with your back problems - as if you didn't already have more than enough to contend with. Hope that you will get some answers/help quickly. Please don't go, we need you too.

Softstuff: Have tried to picture you using the toilet as a foot spa but unless your toilets are a different shape to ours you will have to stand up in it. And have very small feet.

Shanks: No sign of photographers yet but when I strolled down to Leedles this morning I realised by looking at the shoppers that the Yeti Look is definitely catching on.

Am fleeing back to the only warm room in the house - my fingers are too cold up here.

Monna, you are a tonic. Your posts always cheer me up no end. BTW our house will never "be ready" :rotfl:I seem to operate in survival mode most of the time :D.

Hi everyone, finally home from work. DD and her fianc! are popping over for tea tonight. We will all be chatting and catching up on things. We are giving them the conformation of the sun holiday we have booked for them tonight!!!! I am so excited.
Doggy is doing better with his training we have found a spray can of compressed air is the only thing he will respond to if he is being very naughty. Just saying you don't want me too do you, and showing the can is enough. It has helped stop his barking at nothing.
Tomorrow, OH and youngest DD are going to watch Norwich play football, They are both excited. I am in work till 5pm. Nothing unusual there, yet again someone is off sick.
Sunday I am doing nothing, or I should say I am planning on doing nothing.

Can anyone help, I bought today some blackboard vynal was only " pound for a roll, like fablon stuff. DO you think I would be ok to put on a door with a picture frame around it as a notice board type thingy?? or too tacky??

Will pop back later take care x

If you wanted to take it off it might be too tacky nutty. I know it was a boogar getting it off the formica in the house DH and I rented together when we first moved into together.

The Lakeland 'sticky stuff remover' is vicious stuff though. A lady I was caring for spilt it on her carpet tile. I had to remove the tile the next day to replace to find that it had melted away the tar off the back of the tile!

If getting it back off again doesn't bother you too much I would say go for it. The idea sounds fab :)

nutty, I think the blackboard in a frame is a great idea. If it doesn't last long at least you haven't spent a fortune.

monnagran, I'm glad I'm not the only one that dresses for comfort! I think you should take a 'selfie' and let us see!

sq - I hope you feel better very soon. Just had the flu myself and it is taking ages to get back to 'normal', I still want to have a lay down and a nap.

Kidcat, I do hope your dog stays as comfortable as he can be.

Pooky - I send lots of hugs to you, what a difficult time.

Off up to Glasgow in about an hour, going for something to eat and then DD and I are off to London on the sleeper train. I am so excited, feel like I should be 6 years old! Although the train doesn't leave till 23.40 we can get on from 10pm. I shall be there at 5 past 10!

Meeting friends tomorrow that I haven't managed to see for quite a few years and then my brother and sister in law on Sunday. Monday will be spent wandering at our leisure until the sleeper back again. I do hope the weather is dry as it makes such a difference.

We have had the most glorious weather for the past couple of days, it has been about -4 at night but lovely sunshine during the day and it makes me feel so much better.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, stay safe and well.

Where is MrsL ? Is she ok? I've been hibernating. We still have snow lying and not melting much here.
