So sorry about your mum Pooky. Fingers crossed she's going to the right place to help her.0

So very sorry about your mum Pooky. Thoughts and prayers are with you x
Fuddle I'm quite sure kezlou wasn't meaning to "pull you up" but was merely concerned on your behalf that perhaps you had been on your own without witnesses when you gave the verbal warning.
kidcat Sorry about your doggy
Gentle get-well (((HUGS))) to all the poorly people.
OH has a dental appointment in a little while to have the crowns put on 3 of the implants he had done some months ago. He had 4 done at the time, but one went wrong so we think the dentist will have to give up on that one. It will be very strange for OH, he hasn't had any back teeth for years and now he'll have molars again, on one side at any rate. He's very excited about it0 -
morning all
Did a biggish shop after school run stocked up on some basics we had run out of and simple meal bits in case I feel worse. Haven't bought a jar of pasta sauce for a long time but thought it more sensible to be prepared. Some easy frozen bits so we can have fish and chips etc. Left the shopping in the car for a few mins as needed a coffee, toast and a warm up.
Packed DS8 to school, he is so much better but still headachy and sniffly. DH looks awful, he is wrapped up on the sofa watching comedy. Work has dealt him yet nother blow re roles there but we have talked and he has decided to apply for a couple of internal vacancies and try and not let them get to him. He slept properly despite feeling ill last night with relief at a decision made.
Fuddle love, I think you may have got the wrong end of the stick with kezlou's comments. We all know how very capable you are at this and other jobs you have had and will do things correctly. No doubt there - I think kez was just looking out for you. Please fuddle don't stay away or kezlou either for that matter. You are both great contributors on here and I for one care about you both a great deal. Will you both accept a big SQ hug?
(((((((((kidcat)))))) sorry to hear about doggy, at least he can be looked after at home for now. Extra strokes from me.
I had a bulging disc years back and an osteopath sorted mine out. Not saying it would be right for you and you do have to pay but I would do the same if I had disc trouble again.
ok gotta get that shopping in; do some more laundry, despite nearly clearing the bins yesterday it has re-appeared???? and tackle all the dishes from last night. Don't think I can manage anything else.
Hugs all round, lots of you in need I know. We also have sunshine and willing to share it0 -
Hi everyone, some not so nice things on here and then a few bits of good news sprinkled in. Well I had a quite good day yesterday. I worked a late shift but managed to have a few humerous chats with the customers so the time flew by.
I was at aldi this morning for 830am with mum in tow, we were both home by 10 after going to mr sains and then finally I needed petrol as the light appeared like magic on the dashboard.
OH has received the final part of his redundancy pay today another £50. So that's it a line firmly drawn under it and time to move on. He is now loving his new job. He gets his lunch everyday and all breaks etc are given reguardless of how busy they are. He also has some great collegues, they ring him nearly every hour to check he is ok and ask how things are going. It goes along way to receive a thankyou at the end of a shift.
Before I forget aldi had some pork joints in for 1.99, ideal for the slow cooker and they look like good value. Hope that helps some of you.
Take care xBSC member 137

SQ - is there any merit in DH applying for other jobs elsewhere? They seem an awful place to be having let him down so often
Am having a lazy day, OH is still off, DS16 is off feeling ill and DD8 was going to go back to school today but she isnt eating properly and they were planning a 4 mile walk to the local stadium to take part in a morning of fitness! We decided she probably wasnt fit enough for that first day back and kept her off.
Doggy has left small patches of blood on the floor, and has a patch on his underneath, we cant make out whether its a cut or pooled from somewhere else as he wont let us check it, have decided to give it an hour to see if its stopped before heading to the vet.0 -
I am struggling to get stuff done. Hour after the last break on here and I feel wrecked. Will just keep doing a chore and then resting as long as I can.
thanks kidcat, we both wish DH could get a job elsewhere but he never seems to get anywhere with job applications. He is also paid reasonably well for what he does - well in comparison to jobs advertised elsewhere. He saw an external job yesterday with even longer travel time and higher fares and decided against applying. I think his age is against him. Most of the male employees seem to be in far more junior or senior roles, hardly any in between. It may not be his age or gender of course. I know he feels pressure in keeping a job as the only breadwinner. In theory I could get a job, in practice we both have concerns how I would cope with a paid job and how we would both cope with juggling the family and household stuff. Anyway sometimes stuff works out. DH is positive about one of the vacancies there so we will see what pans out. Sorry for rambling on as usual!
Hope doggy is ok. Glad you are having an easy day, makes a change! You are right to keep DD off today by the sounds of it.
Great to hear about your OH happy in his new job nutty. Why can't all jobs be like that, the world would be such a happier place. Good that his old job is now done and dusted.0 -
I am trying to persuade OH to retrain, so far unsuccessfully. I think if he is going to find a job he enjoys and balance that with a decent family life he will need to completely change his path.
As I am looking to find him a new job at the moment SQ I understand the issues your OH faces, it seems that all new jobs require a drop in salary.
No more blood from doggy so its looking like he has a scratch underneath which has stopped. He is already looking worse than yesterday though, since they dropped the dose of one of his meds.
Am quietly relieved as DD8 swimming class has been cancelled due to a faulty pool, in such a lazy mood, am very grateful I can stay in my Pjs:o:o:o0 -
Pooky I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. Healing candles and blessings have been said just for you hun x
Ouch kidcat bulging discs, jeez no wonder you've been in agony with your back. Now put your feet up woman! Give little man lots of strokes for me x
Shiela hope your feeling better today
Thanks sq and ivy, it was purely concern.
Poor nipper sq, it's awful when they Ill, sorry couldn't help but chuckle at your ds. They so funny with the lines they come out with.

Possession and soft stuff, just think soon you'll be in your new homes, how exciting
Guess what had we won the preliminary case for my father's driving licence today. Chuffed to bits yay0 -
Kezlou and I haven't spoken for the past year. Reasons aren't for discussing on the forum. I have spent the last year respecting kezlou's right to post here amongst our toughie friends. Forgive me but I feel Kezlou's reasons for showing her concern are veiled.
I'm not saying anything more about anything. I would just ask that the same respect I show you kezlou is reciprocated so we can continue to share this same space as we have done.0 -
Maybe it would simply be better to put it aside rather than taking the thread off course again
Thank you all for the back advice have spent my time having a look at some back exercises specifically for this today, and also have a recommendation of an osteowhatsit! No idea what one does as yet but as soon as its officially diagnosed I am now in a position to be proactive , thanks to all you wise and wonderful people0
