Stilty :T :T :T
monnagran Your friend sounds wonderfuland it's so nice to have you back! The photo of Mia sounds brilliant
kidcat Hope things went okay yesterday x
We've had a very small amount of snow earlier this morning but it's disappearing fast. The children will be disappointed! Meanwhile my brother and SIL in Bavaria are setting out today in a blizzard to come over here to visit family and friends. It doesn't sound like being a fun journey!0 -
we also had the faintest dusting of snow this morning. beautiful to look at but not disruptive for any travelling by foot or wheels! talking of dusting... DS8 has noticed that the top of my head has an ever increasing smattering of silver hairs.... he said "mum you have moondust in your hair" no greys for me just moondusted hair0

wow stilty you must be so proud
monna lovely to have you back posting
All went well yesterday, I attended the meeting, it was clear they were hoping the authority would offer him a place elsewhere, however the authority were rather upset that there was no paperwork to prove what had been going on, no minutes of our meetings etc and no evidence that they had done anything
The proposal was then a phased return to be with his old TA, but then they were insisting he spend full lessons in the main class rather than the 15 minutes he had been doing, as this was a key trigger for DS i knew they really were never going to get it or make the changes he needs.
I did however agree to try today. I came away and spoke to DS and OH and then in the afternoon I went and handed in my formal letter to withdraw, I handed it personally to the head rather than hide behind a secretary. She looked relieved, and agreed it was probably for the best.
So thats it we are officially off register and I am now totally responsible for it all, it should be scary but I have to say I am more excited than I have been in a long time, and I am looking forward to our adventure and getting my boy back
DD8 stomach bug has lingered and today DS is complaining of tummy ache, so any grand plans are on hold, and we are having a day sat wrapped in blankets with buckets.
Tis a glamorous life we lead:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Ah SQ What a lovely & charming thing for DS8 to say to you. That will be remembered for a very long time - bless him.
Kidcat I'm sure that when you get down to it there will be no problems & it will seem a doddle compared to the battles you have had to deal with in the past. You've been totally responsible anyway in the way you've handled everything. Well done to you & DSSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
well done kidcat! Home ed won't all be plain sailing I'm sure but surely worth a go for the sanity of you, DS and rest of the family. If anyone can make it work, it will be you. Hope the poorlies feel better soon.
One advantage of being indoors with DS, is watching Steve Backshall (wildlife presenter) on cbbc with his top off diving in the water, say no moreOff to make cheesy pasta for DS, he has hardly eaten last 2 days. I will know how ill he is by the amount he eats, it is his favourite dish.

Stilty: Wow! How does it feel, living in a celebrity's shadow? Good luck with the outfits, I can offer a pair of wings if it helps. Unfortunately there seems to be a fault in manufacture - they don't actually work. As for your own outfit, I wouldn't worry if I were you, I know who will be stealing the show.
SQ: My heart goes out to you. At times like you experienced with DS10 (been there) I used to have to remind myself how much I longed for this child - once- a long time ago!
As for DS8, what a poet! Such a beautiful, mystical way of describing it.
Have to say that if you have moondusted hair I have an avalanche of the stuff.
Kidcat: Well done you. I came across quite a few home schooled children in my time and they were, without exception, the most interesting, well balanced happiest people.
I used to have some who joined me when I started my school for 'children who don't fit in to school'. I'm still in touch with some of them and they all seem to have done pretty well. One has just published her first book of poetry I believe and I glory in the poem that she wrote for me when she left the school. Who knows better than you what will make your son happy and fulfilled.
Well, we've a smattering of snow here all sparkling in the sunshine, but crickey, it's chilly. The Rev's out at a daylong meeting and then another one tonight so I'm on my lonesome. Intend to take my knitting round nextdoor this afternoon and keep my elderly neighbour company - and enjoy the warmth of his bungalow!
The post has just been with a letter addressed to the Reverend M... and the Reverend Mother Joy. I may frame it.

Kidcat - good luck and enjoy the homeschooling, even if there are tough days - it's got to be way better than the carp you have been dealing with thus far! One of my best RL friends homeschools her two, always has done, although the big one is now at college doing A-levels and so I've been on lots of alternative education outings with them and there is always a lovely range of kids, many of whom are somewhere on the spectrum, who are blossoming on home school.
Monna - I'm going to wear a bin bag - face it, no one is going to notice me anyway! lol
Trying to catch up on some OU today but it's an uphill struggle as just not in the mood!
Catch you all later - Hx0 -
