Mrs LW, so pleased your bathroom is done, hope you enjoyed the tea in bed. Did you slip in a slice of toast too?

So many of you struggling at the moment, a rotten time of year for problems as there isn't even any sunshine to cheer us up. I am going back to work today as I feel better but wont go to the hospice later in case I still have some germs lurking.

Snow here, so will have to fight the car out of the drive, the main roads should be clear.
  • Hi CAMELOT no toast but two cups of tea drunk in the knowledge that you don't have to get up until you want to and that no booted and noisy builders are going to clutter up the house and clomp up and down the stairs all day leaving the door to outside wide open is a most enjoyable thing!!! The shower I had yesterday morning was a thing of wonder too, oh bliss, and now all we have to do is decorate, there are little patches of colour all over the walls to help me decide and then flooring to pick. The girls are buying me some new towels for my birthday present and we'll be very smart when it's all finished won't we?

Way to go chickie, stand your ground, I know you, so I know you will and do the job the efficient and professional way I know you will and confound the whole perishing lot of them by being good at it!!! Cheeky whatnames, you got the job on merit by working as hard and as dilligently as you did when you were a hands on carer, you never let the firm down and you never caused them a seconds worry. Oh jealousy is a wicked driver and causes many people to say and do things they would never ever do if they thought about it!!! Go that FUDDLE we're so very proud of you!!! Lyn xxx.

    Well said Lyn :T
  • That Zebra is 1 TODAY!!! I can't believe how the time has flown and how much he's developed in such a short time too. He is having a little birthday tea at the nursery this afternoon, they wanted to make it special for him, isn't that lovely? DD has always said he mustn't have sugar and the nursery staff asked Hubs if Zebra was allowed a piece of cake? He said 'Yes, but never ever tell my wife!' then told her himself whereupon she confessed that she had a small 'Smarties' cake for him and would relax the no sugar rule once a year on his birthday!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZEBRA CHILD!!!

Oooh no food processor?? Wow, if that's the case I'm likely to try it next fast day.

They keep advertising these things that turn carrots and courgettes into spaghetti here, which would also be delightful on a fast day (and I notice they're only a couple of dollars on ebay), but even on the ad, they don't seem to work right. Has anyone tried one?

Can you get Joseph & Joseph in Australia? They do a 2 sided peeler. One side is julienne and that will do courgettes. I have not tried carrots, sounds lovely with a peanut sauce.

Gosh I can't believe the zebra is one. Happy birthday stripey boy.
I've sold quite a bit of large furniture so the house is looking empty and full (of boxes) at the same time. Going to pick up 2ndhand table and chairs today as our table is too big.

Hi all, mrs LW well done on the new bathroom. Softstuff wow that's a lot to do before you move. Fuddle, well done over the not so careing collegues. You are doing so well, onwards and upwards for you and your family.

Tuesday OH used his one and only paid holiday from his new job to take me to the meeting. All good fun. lots of new rules and regulations reguarding gaming machines coming in at april. So lots to learn. We managed to have a lovely chat while travelling and we also had lunch out but this was paid for by the company as we had a Christmas fund that hasn't been used so far.
DD arranged for her work collegue to cut mine and youngest dd gair last night so didn't cost much.
Took mum to aldi today with me, we managed to use the last voucher. I gave another one to a lady at the next till, I was loading my car with mum and she came over again to thank me. I told her when to look for the vouchers and all the help on here. I felt nice that a small thing like that could cause so much happiness. She said saving £10 a month would be amazing, she stopped going to the other supermarkets as they had to cut there spending dramatically.

Other than that this is all my news, I managed to take things easily and will continue to do so. I am also looking after myself far better, and eating less and more healthily. Maybe I should have started earlier, but better late than never. I decided to go to work as we are due a bonus in march, it is paid if you have no illness and you are doing well as a shop. fingers crosses I get one x

    Take care x
