Still catching up - but wonderful news Possession.
Well done to Fuddle too - your attitude demonstrates to the other staff EXACTLY why you got the job & how a manager should behave towards staff. They are so lucky to have you.
Will post again probably when i've finished catching upSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Afternoon all
Way to go Miss Stilty!!! We'll need to see some photos - cos we're all nosey like that....and Master Stilty sounds like he's doing fab too! Be proud Mum and Dad - you're doing amazingly.
Possession - Well done to DH - did he share his choccy? Did the sleepover boy survive the night? I've met plenty of kids like that.....needless to say they don't get invited back (if I can help it)
Belated birthday wishes to Zebra - how did that year pass so quickly??
Feeling slightly more human today, the past 7 days have been a bit of a "mare"....but Jasper is getting a little bit better every day, my cold is finally going and DD1 took over "sleeping on the sofa" duties last night so I had a night in my own bed....bliss.
We're supposed to keep him confined to one room until his stitches are out but he's already made it clear that, that's not happening - so we moved him from the conservatory into the main living room where he's spent a couple of days curled up on a pile of duvets behind the sofa next to the radiator - venturing out for the odd drink and a wee, food is very hit and miss. But today he took the chance of running for the door when I opened it and got half way up the stairs before he realised he didn't quite know how to do that on 3 legs. He made it up on to his favourite bed and there he's stayed....have popped a litter tray and food in with him and he's confined to there for the rest of the day.
I popped into town with DD1 for a bit of fresh air - we had a new £1 shop open so popped in for a look and managed to buy 42 balls of wool! I see a blanket on the horizon."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Pooky he only got here this afternoon, I have to control my homicidal tendencies till tomorrow morning.0

I bet it feels like he's been there for weeks though."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

possession - theres always one of those kids unfortunately! well done on DH job too, you deserve the peace of mind.
stilty - well done on both the littlies achievements.
SQ so glad you enjoyed your trip yesterday
I have a house full of varying sickness, DS16 has a migraine so is home from college, DD8 has tummy upset and DD20 is looking decidedly dodgy today.
Of course the day has been bedlam, having to take doggy to vetty this morning, vetty has given him non licenced drugs to try, she warns they are likely to hasten the end, but at this point its that or end it now so I took the meds. He has to return on Weds and if not significantly improved we will have him put to sleep. I will not see him suffer and I fear we are very close to that line. OH is very cross I am not fighting more and insists that a dog with a waggy tail cant be so bad. I believe our old man would wag on his death bed as he is so loving and loyal. He deserves the dignity and peace from suffering, thats what I am fighting for.
DS10 is now settled into the idea of home school, we work when he is ready and we stop when he needs to, I am meeting school and LEA next week but I am expecting a permanent exclusion, either way my letter to home school is going with me and I cannot foresee any reason not to use it. Whilst the idea of being fully responsible for his learning scares me, I believe the relief from stress will be immense and we can enjoy our time together, learning as we go.
Righto toughies am back to the grindstone again, have so much still to do its unbelieveable, please all take care in this rather difficult weather0 -
Huge (((HUGS))) kidcat xx
Pooky It sounds as if Jasper is doing really wellMy DD is in an agony of suspense because she cannot imagine what I've got her for her birthday :rotfl: I've told her not to bother trying to guess.
burtha I hope your DD has a lovely time0 -
Ooh show ivy what did you buy?
Pooky jasper doing so well just shows how much care he has received from you, you have done an amazing job getting him back on his feet so quickly.
Just had a really sad message from a member of our group, she attends as a grandmother who looks after her young grandson while his mum works, in reality she had his almost full time. Turns out the child's father had died suddenly yesterday and she has had to explain it to the little boy today. So very very sad, and I know just how badly be will be affected by it.0 -
Kidcat a mate of mine wrote a brilliant book aimed at small children after her husband died about the same time as Mr C. We have a copy because I know Elke due to our circumstances and I can recommend it. I don't know if your friend will find it useful but I felt that I ought to mention it in case it would be helpful.
