Possession, you have the patience of a saint if you haven't at least slapped him across the chops yet. I recall one friend of mine who slept over when I was a kid, she had the gall to complain about the dinner my mother provided. She went to bed hungry after it being replaced with a slice of bread and jam.
Sorry to hear about your old friend Kidcat, but he's very lucky to have you advocating for him.
I actually slept last night. Or possibly passed out. But either way I'm grateful not to have had a sleepless night.
Voting today for the first time in Australia. Hmm, who to choose?? Numpty 1, numpty 2 or numpty 3 :rotfl:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
That reminds me of the worst visitor I ever had.
A very long time ago, DD now 42, I took DD and three of her friends on a self catering holiday after their GCSEs. They all had straight As.
One of the girls would eat nothing but Cocopops, crisps, and chocolate. I let her have Cocopops for breakfast but not at other meals but she had a case full of her favourite foods so she lived on them for the week.
I tried everything she even did not like beans on toast, burgers, or sausages. (I wonder what she is like now in her 40s.) If she kept it up she will not have had any kids will not have been fit to get through a pregnancy. The other three were not speaking to her buy Tuesday. They were all disgusted at her behaviour when I went to a lot of trouble to try and find out what she did like. She never told me until I had cooked it she did not like anything.
I don't know how I did not kill that child, maybe it was because she was bigger than me. Yes on that diet!!!
I expect you will not see this until morning but know my thoughts are with you.
I was determined I was not taking her home as I would not have been able to leave the others so they would have had to go home. I doubt any of the parents but the spoiled one could have paid the train fare again. They paid the fare and I paid for the flat and food.
I thought we had a bad choice Softstuff but yours is much worse.0 -
possession - theres always one of those kids unfortunately! well done on DH job too, you deserve the peace of mind.
stilty - well done on both the littlies achievements.
SQ so glad you enjoyed your trip yesterday
I have a house full of varying sickness, DS16 has a migraine so is home from college, DD8 has tummy upset and DD20 is looking decidedly dodgy today.
Of course the day has been bedlam, having to take doggy to vetty this morning, vetty has given him non licenced drugs to try, she warns they are likely to hasten the end, but at this point its that or end it now so I took the meds. He has to return on Weds and if not significantly improved we will have him put to sleep. I will not see him suffer and I fear we are very close to that line. OH is very cross I am not fighting more and insists that a dog with a waggy tail cant be so bad. I believe our old man would wag on his death bed as he is so loving and loyal. He deserves the dignity and peace from suffering, thats what I am fighting for.
DS10 is now settled into the idea of home school, we work when he is ready and we stop when he needs to, I am meeting school and LEA next week but I am expecting a permanent exclusion, either way my letter to home school is going with me and I cannot foresee any reason not to use it. Whilst the idea of being fully responsible for his learning scares me, I believe the relief from stress will be immense and we can enjoy our time together, learning as we go.
Righto toughies am back to the grindstone again, have so much still to do its unbelieveable, please all take care in this rather difficult weather
kid at ,talk to the attendance service at your local authority.Theyvwill have an officer responsible for elective home education. You may be able to avoid a permanent exclusion on his record this way.0 -
kidcat
I've pm'd you x0 -
Flying in again - Well done to Miss & Master Stilty.
Kidcat - Hugs to you and your loyal boy. You are quite right when you say he would wag his tail to the end. My poor old puss had total kidney failure & I sat with him all night until I could take him to the vets to have him put to sleep. I held him in my arms & the vet couldn't believe that he was purring. At least I knew he went gently. Its a very hard decision but done with much love for them.
Guess what! We've got snow!! We'll we had it until about an hour ago. When we got up everything looked like a Christmas Card & some littlies were playing in it on the green but now its nearly all gone. To be honest - that's the type I like. Wonder if Mrs L had any?
Possession - hope you've managed to get through the night - when does the little b**ger go home (non too soon you say!) I think a lot of us have experienced something similar. One of our small visitors instigated a food fight - you do wonder about their upbringing.
Hugs to all who are in need & have a good weekend.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Good morning friends
I have been a sleeping beauty. Went to bed 10pm, woke up 9.30am!!! My three boys get up and out early.... only football could do that.... to secure their spot on the hard football pitch. The house was eerily quiet when I woke up, I guess that is the reason I had a lie-in :j. IU am now eating a late breakfast in silence, no "muuum!" heaven.
Worse house guest ever, no contest is MIL and FIL, give me children, teens any day. Too many stories to mention, but alcohol, smoking, muddy footprints everywhere come to mind.
Actually one story does come to mind. Me, newborn and a toddler. Both my mum and MIL here to visit. I am in the kitchen jiggling newborn and making refreshments. Come in to see toddler had drawn all over the rug in black felt whilst 2 grandmums chatted. DH walks in to see me scrubbing the rug furiously. :rotfl:
Planning to attack the house today and try and get all homework completed. Then tomorrow will be more restful... in theory anyway. Going swimming tomorrow with another family, got my act together to invite and they said yes. All children excited.
Another coffee and then will make a start. Not touching floors until the muddy rabble return!
Back later to see how everyone's doing. Saturday hugs to you all, you're ALL fab and don't forget it.0 -
special hugs to kidcat today. x0

No snow here SILVASAVA but it's mighty cold out there and we had spatterings of rain earlier on. I've just been to the scouts jumble sale in the village hall and for £3 got a big bucket of Duplo Lego, a complete Connect 4 game, a complete Pictionary game, a board Alphabet book, a board Usborne Truck and Machinery Stencils Book (brand new) and a book called Mr Noah and the Rabbits with lift up flaps and things hidden underneath them. Good haul and well worth the 50p entrance fee.0

Fuddle I hope someone was with you while disciplined them, its just they can twist words and say you were being unfair and malicious. Especially considering the behalf was directed at you.
Having been in care for the last year I know how important it is to do everything by the book. You have to in this profession. I gave the verbal warning according to our policies and procedures.
Good morning
It's not really as we are mid house clean and tidy. Everyone is a bit grumpy and vowing to do better in the week. Non of us are wanting to spend our Saturday doing this. I am going to get myself on to the Flylady thread again. I think 20 mins a night on a room is more than enough.
Gammon in the SC for meal tonight. Will have fried egg and chips with it.
Thinking of baking with the girls bit keeping it quiet until they have finished their jobs. I'm out of inspiration so will find 5 minutes to go hunt out a recipe later.
I think we're also planning a wander round (no purchasing as my carer pay has to last 6 weeks with the job change) the garden centre and look forward to spring coming. The daffs have about 3 inch growth on them
Have a lovely weekend everyone0 -
FUDDLE the rock buns in We'll Eat Again are very easy, economical and also YUMMY!!! How are your raspberry canes doing??? would you like a couple of Rhubarb Crowns for the garden? He Who Knows was given some by a fellow allotmenteer who was splitting big plants and we've already got a 16 foot row of the stuff. I could meet you in Ikea for a hand over (and a coffee and chat) if you have a weekend free to visit in the next few weeks.0
