Hey hey, another day, another problem, NO ELECTRICIAN will be forthcoming today. He's been expected since Monday and was promised for this morning but sadly not to be!!! I will never ever use this guy again which is sad because in the past he's been the most professional and reliable of all our local builders and has done some first class work for most of the people I know including us.
It's like an ice rink outside down here this morning, we had rain late into last night and it has frozen in a sheet across all surfaces. The roads are the most hazardous as they are sheet ice. I did the early morning walk with Doc and was very hard put to stay upright and the small ones going to school with their parents were going down all over the place and crying. I'm going to escape on the bus again as soon as the ice has gone, I can't take any more building noise. I had planned a day of cooking and have some ironing too but I'm told that both power and water will be off at random times so that can't happen and I'm fed up with sitting in the lounge with the doors shut and not being able to do anything in the house. Oh Mrs L - how annoying & frustrating. Especially as everything had been planned - BIG grrrr on your behalf.
Do any of your workmen have anything on Checkatrade - I'd leave feedback if possible!!!
Get on that bus & get thee into a warm place & have a nice cuppa & a pastry - you really NEED it.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I'm just feeling moany, thank you for listening and thank you for being so nice to me, you are my sunshine all of you, and I'm grateful, Lyn xxx.0

Its so unlike you to be moany Mrs L - so we know its really getting to you. I think we're all prepared to descend en-masse to bite bums & do other more nefarious damage on your behalfSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Tempting offer but then I think how much longer it will take them if injured so I gratefully decline but wish with my whole being that I could say 'Bring it on!!!'.0

DON'T FORGET THE MIRRROR VOUCHERS TODAY
Morning all, boy it feels cold here today.
((((((((Mrs LW))))))) I hear your frustration all the way over in Essex! Have yourself a lovely day out, bit of shopping or browsing and a treat in a lovely caf! and try to forget about it all for a few hours. It WILL all get done and you will appreciate it all the more. Chin up chuck in the meantime.
DS10 is a lot better today. I let him sleep until he woke after 9am. My fab friend collected DS8 for me, same friend I was meant to be child minding for yesterday - school got dates wrong so no meeting in the end, typical! DS10 wants to go to school this afternoon, if he is still ok he can, it's only 2.15 hours. Means I will have to drag my grotty self out but I'm feeling a bit better just look a fright, hair needs a wash and too tired, will dig out the dry shampoo. Feeling a bit fedup, have lots to do but no oomph... can I order some online do you think?
off to make myself half way presentable....0 -
Morning everyone, just been in to the local @ldi and boy was it busy. I bought 2 papers as both me and mum needed a few bits. I also invested in the radiator cover for the lounge. It is to go behind the sofa so it cant get scorch marks on it. Manged to use both vouchers so a saving of £10. Radiator covers are a bargain as I checked in home bose and bnq too both were over £100 for the same size item, I paid 29.99 bargain.
OH is currently driving the bosses new bmw doing the emergency parcel deliveries. He said he loves his new job!! He is just taking the expensive parcels out today to businesses.
I found a new group on FB about frugal recycleing. it has someone who has done her bedroom and it is amazing. She has upcycled some pieces with metallic spray paint. A bit of glitter and pva glue and then dimonetes glued on. I know my attempt wouldn't be as good but it nice to be a bit nozy at others ideas.

Nutty - so glad your DH is getting on well - it doesn't half take the stress out of like doesn't it!
When we decorated our bedroom I needed some new bedside cabinets but when I looked at the prices of the ones I liked :eek: I eventually found 2 small 4 drawer cabients (old Meredew that had seen better days) DH sprayed them satin black & put some lovely 'twinkly' knobs on them & we replaced the glass on the tops and they look smashing. They are so well made & cost in all about £70.00 for the two. I do love a bit of 'upcycling' so just take it slowly Nutty & I'm sure you can make yours look fab

Afternoon toughies. I did write a long post last night that I lost and I really couldn't redo it.
Mrslw sounds like you are having an awful time of it, hope you get it sorted properly and quickly.
OH is off work today, originally he had a dental appointment which was changed on Monday by the dentist, then again Tues and then they tried to change it again yesterday. I am not as polite as he is so I simply said no when they called yesterday, I pointed out that he is working and is messing his employer round, and that he had booked a days holiday around the appointment that is now wasted.
So we planned a clean up this morning, pop into ikea for wardrobe pieces and then lunch together before I had to collect DS16 for an appointment and he had to go collect the younger two.
However we got a call mid morning to collect Ds10, he has been excluded from school until Monday for causing damage. Which doesn't bother me as such, however it turns out that he hasn't done anywhere near as much as previously, and the had been seriously pushing him way past the limits we agreed last week, as one of the teachers was undergoing assessment and they wanted him to comply to make her look in control. So I am a little put out that they have effectively caused the issue then hastened him out the building whole assessment takes place.
Have meeting booked for Monday but I think I will need to begin recording them as this is not something I am comfortable with.0
