oh Lyn you have my sympathy and if I could send a Karma with sharp teeth I would. May even have been willing to bite them both on the bum for you when I had a sharp tooth.

Fuddle do make sure you check with Social Serves and Health Authority that nothing belongs to either of them before you do anything. Daughters do not always know. I know my family would have completely forgotten and probably expected you to return them.

We've already been in contact with equipment services nursemaggie as has the daughter. The items that we have are privately bought or supplied via district nursing or social service funded personal care consumables. There is an awful lot of equipment in that house and the daughter is aware of what is on loan and what is not.

Oh Lyn, I'm so sorry :( Sending you virtual (((HUGS))).

We currently have slightly rusty hot water and to cut a long story short we're going to have to do away with the tanks in the loft and the hot water tank in the airing cupboard and have a new boiler. DS found our boiler was last produced in 1982 :rotfl: That was the year we moved here. Goodness knows where the money's coming from, we'll just have to find it somehow.

OH and I will need to go away for a few days, and put the cat in the cattery, when it's being done. DS will do the pipework (which is bound to take at least twice as long as he thinks it will), and he has a friend with a Gas Safe certificate so he will do the gas bit!

Fuddle - Please, please make sure you get enough sleep. That's more important for your health than a beautifully organised house at the moment, though I know that's important to you :) You are working very hard and still adjusting to your new role, so be kind to yourself. Do your girls help a bit with things like making their beds?

Lovely news on the home moving front Possession and Softstuff....Hope is all goes smoothly and quickly for you both......

We still havent got any snow , but it has been pretty raw and cloudy all day .....Im sitting in front of a roaring log fire and dawg is near enough in the hearth , he love a bit of heat like I do.....I went to dentist for check up yesterday that went ok, same for DH.....
I had a super hot bubble bath before tea , it was heaven ,I do like lots of soaps shower gel and bubble bath all in the bath and as I have a water softener the water is so soft which in turn makes huge bubbles , total relaxation for an hour with some low music and candles , my highlight of the week :D Little things and all that springs to mind.....I normally shower as its quicker and use less water and soaps but I do love a good soak sometimes.......

Hope Miss Camelot is feeling a bit better.
Lyn could you dress Docky up as karma, I bet he's got some sharp teeth! The water sounds an absolute nightmare.
Our tap arrived today but sadly the plumber to fix it didn't. One out of two isn't bad I suppose.
Have packed some more boxes and sorted more clothes, and thanks Nutty, I have a bag of clothes which I put out for charity and wasn't collected, maybe I can get £10 for it on facebook since the charity didn't turn up. If not I've stuck it in the garage for the next charity bag but they aren't always that frequent here.

Hope your DD is better soon and you catch up on your sleep Camelot.

(((Mrs LW)) sorry about your plumbing problems. You will look back later and laugh.... hopefully! Lots of deep breathing and cuppas in the meantime.

Fingers crossed for everyone else's plumbing jobs too.

Back to bed for me, hopefully feel better in the morning. DS is still poorly as well , don't think he will be at school tomorrow. Oh well another NSD today and pay day tomorrow.

Oh Mrs L - I really feel for you. Just when you thought it was nearly completed. I'm sending you a Tasmanian Devil to bite bums & anything else that needs nipping!
We extended our house many years ago & the builder knocked the access through into our hall, front bedroom & landing. We then had a freeze (February) & we were left with a shell & half our house open to the elements. DH had to make wooden frames & cover them with tarpaulin to keep the elements & unwanted visitors out - we were like that for about 3 weeks. I do hope you get everything sorted soon

Thank you all for the congratulations, I'm still feeling sick with the excitement (this coming from someone who was so happy on her wedding night - like a child at a themepark, that she threw up :o )

Congratulations Softstuff! May the packing commence.

Well, realistically there're won't be too much of that hopefully. Given that we still have the 2 properties we can take it bit by bit over, there's very little furniture going with us (this unit will likely be sold furnished) and of the things we do have, most are in their own storage boxes. And I'm hoping still to send a bit more to the charity shop. By the sounds of things, you're leaps and bounds ahead of me.

nursemaggie :rotfl::rotfl: Personally I enjoy a tight time scale for things like moving, I find it saves much procrastination and gives focus. 20 days is a good time frame as its long enough to believe its achievable but short enough to feel urgency :)

    Good luck ladies :)

You're a sadistic woman Kidcat ;) I'm still focusing on renovating the flat, rather than anything else. I suspect the 20 days will be more like 2 by the time I get round to doing otherwise. So save your shouty voice for me then!

Hope you feel better soon SQ, take it easy. Mrs LW, I'm reminded of a comedy phrase when thinking of your plumbers "Never underestimate a kick to the groin" (said in an Arnie voice).

And SQ, so I can't be accused of keeping it quiet, my birthday is a couple of days after we settle on the new house, as is our wedding anniversary (same day), but we might not be bothering to celebrate those this year!

    Morning all

Mrs LW - It never rains.....ok, I'll stop there :)

Nutty - Hadn't thought about selling the clothes on FB - I shall have a look and see if they'll do well. The DVD's and games have been divided between MM, CE x and @m@zon - DH and I had 3 browsers open checking for best prices on each item....long winded but worth while - one game that was worth £6 on one site was worth £23 on another! All the stuff going by post is boxed up ready to send today, DH will take the rest into the local Ceeex place today for them to sort (thank god for his whizzy wheels as I didn't fancy carrying it)

Got a couple of bigger bits of furniture I want rid of now too, shall get those on the local FB site this afternoon and on the bay of E tonight if there's no immediate interest. Once they're gone I can get the decorator in to do the hall, stairs and landing - the only bit of the decorating I can't do myself (without hiring ladders which I really don't want to have to do).

Off to look at some more student houses with DD1 tomorrow - the rents are eyewateringly high and she's going to struggle but she needs to move out and start being a bit more independent...I think our relationship will be all the better for it.
