Sending all my love for Saturday Nutty, glad they're getting to it soon. I can understand entirely what you say about work, I've previously left positions where the job started to feel immoral for one reason or another. Just give it some thought and do what's best for you.

Possession, I'll trade you a cubby house and a shed for a greenhouse! There's a large wooden cubby house and a galvanised shed in the back garden at the property we're trying to buy. The real estate agent says the cubby house will be gone by the time we finalise, but I have my doubts. I plan to grow veg in the new place too, once things are settled.

Happy Birthday Mrs LW! Did you get a special loo roll to Christen the loo with?

I planned to grow veg when I moved here. I've been here 15 months and the garden is still in utter chaos. NO clue where veg could go...

They might be hiding, in the chaos ;)

That's one thing about the garden we're heading to, there's sod all in it. The front is a huge expanse of lawn, the back is more lawn with a shrub at the side. So to begin with, very little maintenance, and not too much to remove before starting on some projects.

And we will be starting soon.....
:j WE JUST GOT FORMAL MORTGAGE APPROVAL :j

Actually hubby phoned an hour ago to tell me that, but I've since been sat here stunned and staring into space.

Cracking open the champagne tonight! Well.... the cheap sparkly wine left over from my friends birthday :D

morning everyone, soft stuff congratulations on the imminent house move and the same to possession, omg 20 days isn't long is it!!!!! I don't think I could move house again, this year I am going to sort and clear the last few boxes in the attic from when I moved 8 years ago!!
Happy belated birthday wishes mrs LW x
I have today off work so, me and buddie and chilling. We have the heating on low and were curled up on the sofa. I intend to have a lovely time at home today.
We bought a matching tv unit from facebook for £10 last week, so my DD listed our old one on there and it sold for £15. I was so happy, we managed to make money out of getting something that matches all the rest. It is ikea pine, but it does look nice.

    take care x

Have a relaxing day Nuttyp , you certainly deserve it. Thoughts are with you for your tests, soon be done and dusted.

Congrats and good luck to soft stuff and possession - daunting but exciting. I am really cutting through the clutter this month and everything is considered on the basis of if we ever moved, would be want to take it with us - or would our DDs want it when we are no longer around. So looking forward to a clutter free house, just seems a long time getting there. Have spent first two hours of my day off sorting and cleaning, so have a sit down with brekkie then off with Dd to do a bit of food shopping and have a potter round. She starts her next nursing placement soon so nice to chill together when we can.

Belated Happy Birthday Lyn , hope you are enjoying your new facilities:)

A good morning to you all

congrats and good luck wishes to softstuff and possession!

A very happy belated birthday to Mrs LW - did HWK buy you any eau de toilette? :p.... sorry I'll get me (charity shop) coat....

Have a nice day with DD alfsmum and a lovely relaxing day nutty.

Please do not keep birthdays quiet. I almost kept mine quiet but then thought, no it's a special day and I had a lovely time so will share with my friends here. I know there are lots of Jan birthdays - who have we missed? Who has one coming or even today? Don't be shy!

Well I have a poorly DS10 off at home, his first day off school this academic year. He is a bit disappointed at breaking his good record but really he isn't great. Temperature, no energy or appetite at all, bad night so best resting today. DSS8 is his usual bouncy self and happily went to school feeling important having to hand in a form to his brother's teacher. He even made a get well card for his big brother. I feel grotty, hoping I won't be ill.

I have a dilemma. I am meant to be minding a friend's 2 kids after school. They are lovely in their own way and I think the world of them but a bit full on and DS10 founds them annoying as they are in to everything, and want to take things home etc. I am very torn - friend has a governor's meeting and don't want to let her down but DS really isn't well and I don't feel great. I intended to pick up fishfingers or similar today as our guests are fussy eaters but can't go out obviously and I would need to put all sorts of things out of reach. Need to let my friend know at lunch as she has another meeting afterwards.
Can I ask who would look after a friend's children if theirs were off sick from school?

Morning toughies - belated birthday wishes Lyn

Possession and softstuff - so pleased the house purchases are going through, exciting times

nutty hugs, will be thinking of you for saturday

SQ - if you aand DS are unwell then you cannot be minding your friends child. I would be looking that you didnt want to pass the illness on to her kids;);)

Mad busy here at the moment and I am finding I have less and less time, am far more stressed and shouty, things are so finely timed that the slightest delay (and DD8 is extremely creative at finding delays) throw the day completely off. Need to work on being less shouty:D

SQ I presume you don't know what is wrong yet so I would call you friend and say you don't want to risk giving it to her girls.

Belated Happy Birthday Lyn I expect your celebrating it when the builders and plumbers have gone.

I thought the snow was going but it has just started snowing great big snow flakes again.

20 days sounds like we should all be at Possession's and softstuff's helping with the packing Kidcat can shout what to do and get rid of her stress, SQ take it easy and Nutty have a nice relaxing day you need it.

nursemaggie :rotfl::rotfl: Personally I enjoy a tight time scale for things like moving, I find it saves much procrastination and gives focus. 20 days is a good time frame as its long enough to believe its achievable but short enough to feel urgency :)

    Good luck ladies :)
