All well here, and our mortgage has just been approved so it's possible exchange and completion might be very soon. Haven't packed!
:T :T :T
maryb Don't do what I did and buy new shoes the next day after having sedation....I bought 2 pairs and had to take them both back  Both pairs were too big, and I didn't even like one of them! At the time I thought I felt fine and quite back to normal.
nuttyp I know it's easy for me to say, but try to keep calm about it - you'll be fine, and it will be well worth it to get any problems sorted out x0 -
Hey all. Been reading along with you bit not replied as, however much I love my new job (I do, it's fab!) I am suffering from the shock of having to be mentally aware and ontop of paperwork/calls/problems/enquiries/databases and changing databases etc it's not beyond my capabilities but I have never worked under those pressures and finding the mental tiredness worse than working the long weekend shift :rotfl: I am enjoying it though. I am always busy and never bored.
I was talking to a man this morning Lyn he lived near you and said the winds last night were immense. It was bad enough here so thought of you. How is Docky coping with life at the moment?
OS ways consist of meat and veg meals really. I am wanting to really sit down with my cook books at the weekend and look at SC meals/quick meal and frugal meals because we are really tired of the same old but it's doing for now as we adjust to new routines.
My petrol consumption is now minimal and the lowering of the price is very helpful too. My grocery spends are not at a level to my liking and something I want to try to shave money off really. Seems to me, with the meat in particular, the price is slowly going up and the portions/cut are smaller.
We have our summer duvet back on our bed. I know it seems ludicrous but since we changed bedrooms we now have the boiler cupboard in our room and the residual heat is just too much. Fab because we don't need the rad on in our room but feels very wrong having a slither of a duvet on. :rotfl:
The snowdrops are popping up and the grass needs a trim. Think spring is on it's way. Just have to put up with these winds for a bit I guess.0 -
My god fuddle, I'm sitting here with a tshirt a jumper and a cardi on plus tights and socks...and am strill frozen. And we're to get minus 15 next week!0

Nutty and Maryb, I agree with the have the sedation camp. I had sedation with my gastroscopy and do not remember a thing about it.
I worked in an Endoscopy unit many years ago. I remember one very eventful procedure when a sedated male patient grabbed the Constants testicles and would not let go . Nurses can have a warped sense of humour (it goes with the territory), we literally fell about the place laughing and were no help to the poor Consultant whatsoever.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

I can just imaging us all sitting in a ward in our nighties and dressing gowns, my op was bigger than yours. No wonder Fuddle did not join in.
I hope you get less tired soon Fuddle It's just getting used to something new.
Your a bit faraway for me to come or I would come and hold your hand Nutty. You definitely need someone with you so don't go alone. I was an inpatient and I did not get anything to eat for hours. I did not have a sedative but I was out of the ward at dinner time.
Next day was Christmas eve and I came home to huge turkey to cook that was too big to go in the oven. Never let a man buy the turkey there were just the 3 of us and DS was about 5 so not a lot of appetite. Spent all boxing day making up turkey dishes for the freezer. My mother were alive then. It was the only time she went to my brother's For Christmas.0 -
that's good news Possession - better start that packing love! Your new job sounds great fuddle. You are bound to be tired learning all the ropes but I know you will be fine and soon be in the swing of things.
Off to bed, earlyish for me. A friend is organising a lunch for me and some other friends tomorrow, really looking forward to it. DH has booked a day's annual leave for Monday too so we can have some time just the two of us while the kids are at school. night night to those still up x0 -

:j:j:j:j YAY! D'ya think our speed rubbed off on you??
We haven't started even thinking about packing. Thing is, we'll have both for a little while, so we're planning to avoid having to hire a van and instead using a fiat 500 (if anyone thinks I'm joking, they don't know me that well).
I did however spend half of yesterday sanding, finishing and oiling one of the decks here. The list of things we have to do here before selling is pretty long. Hubby isn't stressed because his side of the job is house purchase, mortgage and paperwork, which all seems to be coming together, mine is the hard labour! Feel like I've been run over by a steamroller, but after the first few days I'll get used to the exercise. Especially when I have to paint the ceilings...
Ivyleaf, they say over here, 48 hours after sedation you should make no large financial decisions. I was in the supermarket an hour after and things went a bit awry!
Nutty you'll be fine, if we all lived nearer you'd be going in with a dozen of us, so just bear in mind we're all here for you.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning all, builders in many rooms this morning so I can only access the kitchen and the study. I've made split pea and bacon soup in the pressure cooker and prepped all the veg for a steak and mushroom casserole for supper this evening. Hopefully the window replacement in the lounge will be quick to do and then the builder might be able to leave us this evening with a working loo upstairs which will be good. I can't fathom why so many jobs get started at once, I understand about needing things done for yesterday when the plasterer came but I would have started with the window in the lounge as that is the smallest job and would have left me rooms I could shut the door on and keep the hound in. I obviously see things differently to men!!!
DD1 is coming home for the weekend and arrives at 8ish this evening so I'm looking forward to that very much and I might have to go and Zebra sit one day next week as both parents have commitments at the time he'd be picked up from nursery, depends on whether or not DD can get a friend to do it or not.
It's very cold here this morning, very damp but not raining so being outside is quite uncomfortable and you get dragon breath when you breath out. It's cold in here too as the builders don't close doors!!! Never mind, hopefully it will soon be finished and I'll stop moaning about it. Have yourselves a nice day and stay warm, Lyn xxx.0 -
Hope you don't get too cold Mrs LW. Its such a nuisance having lots of builders all over the place but just think how great is will be when they are gone and you have new windows and bathroom!!
Just had a mild panic that someone had got hold of DH's bank card.
Saw £10 drawn out yesterday which was fine but then a larger sum drawn out of somewhere in Sussex (DH works in London) this morning. Managed to get hold of him at work and he did draw out the money (need to ask him why though this eve). The bank must have entered the wrong location of ATM in the system! The last couple of days have been full of little things going wrong or being awkward - it's fine as they are only little things! Off out to sort prescriptions and one or two odds from supermarket on my way to a friends for lunch. Doing nothing else until school pickup
Planning to gather as many little tubs of leftovers eg mash, cabbage, mince etc to concoct a meal for this eve. I have done much better recently and not leaving our freezer full of little odds and ends and then buying more ingredients to bung in the freezer. My main freezer staples like bags of veg, fish portions, meat etc are bagged together. So much easier to find and means I have less of a stretch for my back to reach the bottom, I can pull up the bag handles.
Have the best day you all can0
